ORAS Ubers Fun with Aeigislash, Mega-Mawile and Friends.

Basically this team came about because I wanted to use two of my former OU favorites Mega-Mawile and Aegislash on a fun little team. I had a lot of fun using these 2 when they were around in OU so I decided that I would try my hand at an ubers team while trying to find a decent check to primal groudon(That wasn't primal groudon itself), Here is what I came up with.

Deoxys-Speed @ Focus Sash
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Ice Beam
- Stealth Rock
- Toxic
- Taunt

Almost every team in ORAS Ubers does well with solid SR leads due to the fact threats like Lugia, Ho-oh, and Salamence are running their course. Stealth rocks also come in handy for primal groudon (More explained with Palkia) as well as toxic for the more bulky threats. With Mega-Salamence being one of the biggest threats to this team, Ice beam is a must have over knock off. Taunt helps against Darkrai and a few other mons that might want to do early game setups, status, ect.

Palkia @ Life Orb
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Draco Meteor / Spacial Rend
- Hydro Pump
- Fire Blast
- Earth Power

One of the things I really wanted for this team was a decent Primal Groudon check that wasn't Primal groudon itself. So why Palkia? Earth power does wonders against all P-Groudon sets. The extra damage from Life Orb allows it a Guarantee 2HKO on Spedef P-Groudon. Offensive Primal Groudon? That is where D-speed comes in because even a max roll earth power does 98.3% on standard Offensive Primal Groudon. Stealth rock damage turns that 0% chance to OHKO into a 68.3% chance to OHKO. In addition, Earth power 2HKOs all Dialga variants reliably. Its STAB moves allow it to have incredible offensive pressure and does work against threats like Arceus-Ground, Ho-oh, Rayquaza and Giratina. Also, who doesn't love a good old fashioned speed tie against a Un-Megaevolved mence (Sarcasm)?

Xerneas @ Leftovers
Ability: Fairy Aura
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Aromatherapy / Roar
- Rest
- Sleep Talk
- Moonblast

Xerneas has plenty of unique offensive sets that I enjoy such as the Aromatherapy/Geomancy set or the LO stall breaker. However Defensive Xerneas has to be a something I never thought would work as well as it has for me. My original plan was when I made this team I was going to throw Geomancy on this mon but I decided I would try out the other sets first as a test drive to see whether or not the others would fit on my team and the defensive set has gone above and beyond what I expected it to. It lives +2 sludge bomb from a life orb Darkrai 100% of the time without a crit and kills with moonblast, It takes moonblasts from other +2 Xerneas and can roar them out, switches in on Giratina and Yveltal under most cases, Lives +2 Espeed from LO E-killer and deals nice chunks of damage with moonblast thanks to its ability. I encourage you if you don't try out this team to try out this set at the very least.

Aegislash @ Spooky Plate
Ability: Stance Change
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 240 HP / 16 Atk / 252 SpA
Quiet Nature
- Shadow Ball
- Flash Cannon
- King's Shield
- Shadow Sneak

The enemy of my enemy is my friend. In this case my enemy is lugia. Aegislash and stealth rocks go extremely well together due to the offensive nature of this beast. Not a lot of switch ins to a shadow ball plus the spooky plate gives it a good boost for its priority and shadow ball itself. Aegislash lives any hit from +2 Xerneas making this a mon you can't setup freely on. Giratina-O once again can take an L with a guarantee OHKO after rocks with shadow-ball. While one of the biggest issues with Aegislash being that in shield form Primal groudon still has its way with it, it still makes for a rough switch in on a shadow ball especially with rocks. Mons that aren't as bulky as P-groudon catch large damage percentages and get finished with its priority or just get 2HKOd from a couple of shadow balls especially if rocks are up. Mewtwo Y is a big threat but shadow sneak is a guarantee 2HKO. Aegislash being a small group of former top-tier OU pokes that continue to shine in the highest of tiers.

Mawile @ Mawilite
Ability: Intimidate
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 16 Atk / 240 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Sucker Punch
- Play Rough
- Iron Head

Like Aegislash, Mega-Mawile Proves itself to be a threat with a great decent balance in offense and bulk. M-Mawile giving itself plenty of power even with low attack EVs allows it to have plenty of spedef to live earth power from mega diancie, Fire blast from Lus. Orb Palkia, even a +2 Moonblast from Xerneas. 1 SD allows it to still deck out lots of damage even with a burn so even mons like Giratina Aren't safe after hitting a Will-O-Wisp. Like Aegislash, 2HkOS plenty pokes especially after rocks. Add on a semi-reliable Priority move and you got yourself a solid team member.

(Ground)
Arceus-Ground @ Earth Plate
Ability: Multitype
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Swords Dance
- Extreme Speed

Saving the best for last, Arceus-Ground is probably my personal favorite offensive arceus. A pretty solid check to primal groudon doing more than enough to 2HKO. Once this thing sets up a swords dance its a done deal, Outspeeds majority of mons making it a great mid-late game sweeper and extremespeed becomes a last resort like for other variants of Arceus and doing decent chunks of damage to various other types of sweepers, after rocks +2 stone edge is a solid 2hk0 on lugia, Ho-oh gets destroyed, and defensive Yveltal has a 25% chance to get OHKOd after rocks from a +2 stone edge. Overall a great alternative to E-killer.

Final thoughts:

A huge threat to this team is Mega Salamence, If it wasnt for the fact that Deoxys has ice beam then mega mence could start an early game setup and there would be nothing I could do about it. Primal-kyogre seems to also put in a lot of work in this team as well. Spikes hurt Mega-mawile and Aegislash greatly while any form of hazards is dangerous against Arceus-Ground due to the lack of spin/defog with toxic spikes being especially dangerous. As much as I love it, Mega Mawile probably doesn't do enough for this team and Aegislash really only does well against Lugia if rocks are up. I had a lot of fun making this team all this being said, my best thing I say I got from this was learning the potential earth power has on Palkia.

Look forward to reading the responses.

Hey there,
first of all cool to see a Mega Mawile, but I don't think its that good at the moment. One reason is that it is so slow and there are to many counters and checks to it. Furthermore your team does not have the offensive pressure to beat any good stall team and offensive team and I don't agree with Deoxys-S, because you are not able to prevent your opponent to Defog. You will need more offensive pressure for that. Palkia is not that good in ORAS like it used to be in BW and XY. So I would rate you to replace it with an offensive Primal Groudon. It checks Primal Kyogre and has a better day vs Latias and Latios. I agree with you, that Salamence seems rather problematic so I have a Xerneas set for you which fits kind of good in here. It is Geo Xern with Resttalk. It allows you to beat Mega Salamence and take a hit. You can set up and the cool aspect about GeoTalk is that you either hit Rest or Moonblast. You will never hit Geomancy because it is a two turns move. My next point on your team is that Aegislash rapes your momentum. It won't do much at all. I would probably go for Darkrai. It allows you to Dark Void one Pokemon of your opponent and it can set up a free Nasty Plot. Darkrai is really good on offensive teams, because it can set something to sleep, it has a really high special attack and can cover most things with the Poison/Dark coverage. Last but not least I would rate you to go for Mega Salamence instead of Mega Mawile it has so much offensive pressure and it would be a waste not to use it on Hyper Offense. It fits better because it threatens most Defoggers more than Mega Mawile. I know I changed a lot but it is better to have more offensive pressure on a Deoxys-S HO team. I hope I was able to help you.

Hi Aaron undead. Your team indeed needs some fixing imo. I will fix it while keeping Mawile and Aegislash.

1)You can not use a suicide lead like Deo-S on a team built around slow mons like Aegislash and Mawile,It's like a waste of a Pokemon. The only reason is that Deo-S will set up rocks one time and die after and it will be extremely easy for the opposition to defog later in the game specially that with Aegislash and Mawile you don't have offensive pressure. So replace Deo-S with Classic Groudon set that helps against fairies that might have wow like Arceus fairy and that can be an answer to Extreme Killer/Ho oh and kyogre if palkia is dead.
Groudon @ Red Orb
Ability: Drought
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 248 HP / 200 Def / 56 SpD / 4 Spe
Impish Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Precipice Blades
- Stone Edge
- Roar/Thunder wave
2)A lefties Aegislash would be way more useful and can check latias/latios/Xerneas/Mewtwo's and spam toxic on switch ins.
Aegislash @ Leftovers
Ability: Stance Change
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpD
Sassy Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- King's Shield
- Shadow Ball/Pursuit
- Gyro Ball
- Toxic
3)Mawile is not very good in this metagame imo only thing it can help with is be a check to Yveltal/Darkrai and mainly dark types in general as well as a secondary check to Latias/Latios and Xerneas.
Mawile-Mega @ Mawilite
Ability: Huge Power
EVs: 248 HP / 16 Atk / 244 SpD
Careful Nature
- Play Rough
- Stone Edge
- Knock Off
- Sleep Talk
4)Lustrous Palkia over LO it hits really hard and i don't see the point of Earth power while spacial rend does tons.
Palkia @ Lustrous Orb
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Spacial Rend
- Hydro Pump
- Fire Blast
- Thunder wave
5)Arceus Ground is good just run Recover over Extreme speed to have a better Groudon switch in.
6)Now that we have a bulky Mawile that checks dark types there is no need for a bulky Xerneas.
A winning condition would be really good right here so you can go for a classic geo xerneas with thunder and focus blast/aroma if needed.
Xerneas @ Power Herb
Ability: Fairy Aura
EVs: 44 HP / 32 Def / 248 SpA / 184 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Geomancy
- Moonblast
- Thunder
- Focus Blast
You can also run an aroma haxmin sky and hax ftw also i noticed that many offensive balanced teams are weak to it so:
Haxmin-Sky (Shaymin-Sky) @ Leftovers
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Substitute
- Air Slash
- Seed Flare
- Aromatherapy

Hope I helped and good luck.
