XY OU Fun with U-Turn

This is my first real Bred Team. I made it mostly just to mess with people because I think Zoroark has a really fun gimmick.

Talonflame (Kaze)
31/31/31//31/31
252 Atk/252 Spe/6 HP
Adamant
Gale Wings
Life Orb
-Flare Blitz
-Steel Wing
-U-Turn
-Brave Bird

Kaze is short for Kamikaze because that's exactly what my Talonflame is mostly there for, taking out pretty much anything until she dies or I decide to U-Turn into something else. I know that GW Talonflame is being used by a lot of people but that doesn't stop it from being really fun to use.

Zoroark (Michael JFox)
31//31/31/31/31
252 SpA/252 Spe/6 SpD
Modest
Illusion
King's Rock
-U-Turn
-Focus Blast
-Night Daze
-Flamethrower

The Ace on my team. My Zoroark is not quite as good at taking down threats as Talonflame but he had better coverage and usually does not stick around too long, typically he comes out from someone else using U-Turn and then immediately U-turns back in to confuse/enrage my opponent. King's Rock is there because the chance for flinch pairs will with Night Daze.

Greninja (Nobufroga)
31//31/31/31/31
252 SpA/252 Spe/6 SpD
Timid
Protean
Sitrus Berry
-Surf
-U-Turn
-Ice Beam
-Extrasensory

There are so many different options with Greninja but this is one that has worked out for me well. I chose to go for more Speed than Sp.Attack because if Greninja hits with Super-Effective STAB on an opponent not much is going to survive the hit. U-Turn continues with my theme of frustrating my opponents because they won't know if it is Zoroark or not.

Raticate (Scabberton)
31/31/31//31/31
252 Atk/252 Spe/6 HP
Adamant
Guts
Toxic Orb
-Dig
-Sucker Punch
-Facade
-U-Turn

I'm very fond of this Raticate because she once took down a Mewtwo Y with Sucker Punch to win me a Wi-Fi Battle. Guts+Toxic Orb+Facade is a really good combination for Raticate because it boosts her attack up to a level that can actually get things done. Dig is there for coverage, Sucker Punch getsme the first hit against someone who would KO Raticate. U-Turn is there for Zoroark.

Heliolisk (Marvolo)
31//31/31/31/31
252 SpA/252 Spe/6 Hp
Timid
Dry Skin
Bright Powder
-Eerie Impulse
-Surf
-Glare
-Volt Switch/U-Turn

Marvolo has a few different things she can do when she is sent out. She can Paralyze with Glare to wreck someone's speed, Eerie Impulse to knock down SpD to open up a sweep for Zoroark or Greninja, Surf is unexpected and does some good damage. I'm not sure if I want U-Turn to continue with Zoroark mind games or if I want Volt Switch for STAB.

Goodra (GooMaster)
31//31/31/31/31
255 Hp/252 SpD/6 Def
Calm
Hydration
Insect Plate
-Infestation
-Rest
-Toxic
-Rain Dance

Goodra is for stalling purposes on my team. He is able to take at least 1 Moonblast which allows him to Toxic an opponent's Fairy Type. Infestation traps them and danages them each turn and is boosted by the Insect Plate and Toxic adds on to this damage. Rain Dance activates Hydration which wake him up right away when he has to rest to recover health.

(I kind of wish that there were Team Forums on here based around Smash Bros, For Fun and For Glory, because this team really is just for fun. I'm not expecting to win tournaments with them)

Hello, your team is pretty interesting, and I have a few suggestions:
  • Just as a teambuilding tip, 4 EVs increase a stat. Having 6 EVs will increase a stat the same amount as 4 EVs, 5 EVs, or 7 Evs. It is preferred to have EVs that are multiples of 4 for this reason, so you can change 6 EVs in the stats to 4 EVs.
  • A lot of your sets are... kind of strange. I'm not really sure if these sets are even viable. I don't want to change your entire team up, but here's some sample sets for each of your Pokemon that you can look over and possibly replace:
  • Talonflame: Your Talonflame set is pretty much OK. You can possibly choose Tailwind or Will O' Wisp over Steel Wing to help support your team, but Steel Wing is OK to hit fairies.
  • Zoroark: I would change Night Daze to Dark Pulse. Although Night Daze is effectively stronger and has a great secondary effect, it'll give Zoroark away. Dark Pulse also comes with a nice flinch chance, which is always appreciated. Also, go for Life Orb over King's Rock. King's Rock is more suited towards Pokemon that can benefit from the flinch chance, such as Cinccino. Life Orb will let you hit harder at the cost of a lack of flinch chance (while dark pulse take cares of that anyway).
  • Greninja: Change Sitrus Berry to either Leftovers (for recovery) or Life Orb (for harder hits). Sitrus Berry is mainly for Belly Drum sweepers, and Greninja would benefit more from constant recovery rather than a one time boost.
  • Raticate: I think a better Pokemon for this role is Zangoose. While a bit slower, it uses Toxic Orb much better (remember, Flame Orb is for Pokemon that are planning to stay in for a while and Toxic Orb is for frail sweepers who are only meant to stay in a few turns at a time):
    Zangoose @ Toxic Orb
    Ability: Toxic Boost
    EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
    Jolly Nature
    - Facade
    - Knock Off
    - Quick Attack
    - Close Combat
This set takes advantage of Toxic Boost to make Zangoose a very threatening sweeper. Facade is self explanatory, and Quick Attack is used to take out weakened Pokemon. Knock Off is a great utility to rid the opponent of their item, and Close Combat gives coverage against Rock and Steel types.
If you're going to stay with Raticate, change Dig to Swords Dance. Swords Dance is a great boosting utility that can help you greatly with predicting switches, and Dig is really just a free switch-in for Flying and Levitate Pokemon.
  • Heliolisk: Now here's where things start to get strange. I don't really understand the set you have here. Brightpowder? Eerie Impulse? Maybe try out a set like this:
    Heliolisk @ Choice Specs/Life Orb
    Ability: Dry Skin
    EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
    Timid Nature
    - Volt Switch
    - Thunderbolt
    - Grass Knot
    - Hidden Power Ice/Surf
This set takes advantage of Heliolisk's great Speed and Special Attack. You can choose Life Orb over Specs to avoid being locked into a move, but Choice Specs is the more powerful option. Volt Switch is great for momentum, and Thunderbolt is a great STAB. Grass Knot lets you get past bulky Ground/Water Pokemon, and HP Ice takes out ground types (I slashed Surf because that was on your original set, you can choose it if you like).
I don't think your set was bad, it's just not that competitively viable for the OU metagame.
  • Goodra: Same thing as the previous; your set isn't very viable in the OU metagame. This set may better suit you:
    Goodra @ Assault Vest
    Ability: Sap Sipper/Gooey
    EVs: 240 HP / 252 SpA / 16 Spe
    Modest Nature
    - Draco Meteor/Dragon Pulse
    - Fire Blast
    - Sludge Bomb
    - Muddy Water
This set takes advantage of Goodra's great Sp.Def stat with Assault Vest boosting it to unimaginable levels. Draco Meteor is a great STAB that can be replaced by Dragon Pulse if you do not want the Sp.Atk drop. Fire Blast is a great coverage move against steel types, and Sludge Bomb is essential for hitting fairies. Finally, Muddy Water helps hit Pokemon like Landorus and Heatran hard.
Again, I don't really want to change up your team too much, so keep in mind that these are only suggestions and that you don't need to follow them all.
Good luck on your team! =)
