[SET COMMENTS]

Araquanid functions as the tier's premier Sticky Web setter, leveraging its good natural bulk and access to Magic Coat to reliably get up Sticky Web while also denying entry hazards. Surf is usually used in order to OHKO Landorus-T and Great Tusk, preventing the latter from removing Sticky Web, while Liquidation hits Ting-Lu and Gliscor for greater damage. Bug Buzz and Leech Life are also both options in order to hit Ogerpon-W, which would otherwise use Araquanid as setup fodder and can give Sticky Web teams some trouble otherwise. Endure combines well with Custap Berry, allowing Araquanid to get an extra hit off on foes or potentially get Sticky Web up again against Rapid Spin or Defog users such as Great Tusk and Landorus-T. Endeavor is also an option, pairing well with Endure and Custap Berry to bring foes that resist Araquanid's Water-type attacks, such as Ferrothorn and Kyurem, down to low HP. Magic Coat is used in order to prevent hazards from foes such as Ting-Lu and Ferrothorn while also stopping Taunt from foes such as Landorus-T. 40 Defense EVs allow Araquanid to survive two of Jolly Hisuian Samurott's Ceaseless Edges from full health.

Araquanid fits solely on Sticky Web hyper offense structures. Slower wallbreakers such as Raging Bolt and Hisuian Samurott appreciate Araquanid's Sticky Web compensating for their below-average Speed stats, letting them outspeed and threaten foes such as Iron Valiant and Zamazenta. Gholdengo blocks Rapid Spin and Defog, helping to keep Sticky Web up, and benefits from them Sticky Web allowing it to sweep with Nasty Plot more easily. Other setup sweepers such as Ogerpon-W and Great Tusk also appreciate the Sticky Web support Araquanid provides, preventing Pokemon such as Tapu Lele and Iron Valiant from revenge killing them as easily. As Araquanid often struggles to get Sticky Web up in the face of Mega Diancie, Flying-types such as Tornadus-T, and Electric-types such as Tapu Koko, Steel-types such as the aforementioned Gholdengo and Mega Scizor are appreciated. In return, they benefit from Sticky Web slowing down foes such as Heatran and Hisuian Samurott while also appreciating Araquanid providing a switch-in against Fire-type foes such as Heatran, Volcarona, and Cinderace.

Surf is usually used in order to hit Landorus-T and Great Tusk's lower special defence OHKO Landorus-T and Great Tusk, preventing the latter from removing Sticky Web, while Liquidation is another option, combining well with Araquanid's higher attack stat filler; better off mentioning it hits ting lu and glisc harder than surf would. Bug Buzz and Leech Life are also both options in order to hit Ogerpon-W who would otherwise be able to comfortably switch in on Araquanid's Water-type attacks use Araquanid as setup fodder. Endure combines well with Custap Berry, allowing Araquanid to get an extra hit off on opponents, or potentially get Sticky Web up again against a Rapid Spin or Defog user such as?.
