Welcome, one and all, to the long waited Fusion Evolution Gen 9! Whether you're new to the mod or returning from the previous ierations of the mod, be sure to read the rules below, as this gen we're applying some changes to how the submission process works.



Important Rules





Submissions and Voting

- You may only submit up to four fusions per slate.

- Each fusion can only be submitted by the same user up to three times over the course of the mod. In other words, every submission can only be further resubmitted up to two times.

- You vote for up to 6 fusions submitted in one round, and you are allowed to vote for up to 2 of your own submissions. Voting is done either through our Discord server or through DM'ing a council member


Submission Format & Guide

Fusion:
(Fusion name)
Type: The type of the fusion
Stat Distribution: The stats of the fusion
Ability: Ability (A + B) - Effect
Relevant Moves: What moves will be most common on this fusion's sets?
Intended Role: (Eg. Hazard Setter, Special Wall, Set-Up Sweeper)
Role Justification: Why should this fusion be voted in and what does it bring to the meta? How does this fusion fill its role?

It should be noted that all submissions should be based around the metagame- If "fast" in this pet mod ends up being around 90-100 a powerful attacker with a "poor" speed of 90 wouldn't be appropriate. Also, while not necessarely a rule, please avoid the jokey/silly names.



Now, onto how each thing works:

- You can fuse any official Pokemon so long as the result is balanced. The only exception is that Eternal Floette is not allowed.
- To get the stats of the Fusion, you simply average the stats of both Pokemon, rounded down. Then, you may have a total of up to +20 to add to its bst. However, this aditional +20 is opitional.
- The fusion inherits one type from each parent. So, for an example, a fusion between Kilowattrel and Togedemaru could be any of Electric / Flying, Electric / Steel, Flying / Steel or Pure Electric.

- The ability should be a mix of the effects of one of each of the abilities that the parents have. In our Kilowattrel/Togedemaru example, you would choose one of Wind Power/Volt Absorb/Competitive and mix its effects with one of Iron Barbs/Lightning Rod/Sturdy. You can also just make it an ability that has the same effect as two other abilities, similar to As One. If both of the abilities fused have the same effect (Say, I fuse Technician Cinccino with Technician Scizor), or if one of the used abilities is Run Away, Honey Gather, Ball Fetch or Illuminate, you gain an aditional +20 to freely distribute in stats (with a cap of +20 in a single stat). If two abilities with no in-battle effects are fused, the boost is instead +30. These boosts are entirely opitional and you don't have to use the full stat boosts.

- Fusions get the movepool of both of their parents. The movepool used to determine this is the most recently available movepool for each parent, in the priority of SV > SwSh > BDSP > USUM. If a Pokémon recieves a movepool change mid gen, the fusion will be adjusted accordingly.

- Do note that Terastalization is banned from this Pet Mod.

As for alternate forms, if it's an out-of-battle form change, it's treated as a separate pokémon. Otherwise, the formula goes as it follows:

Origin and Crowned
Nothing happens when you give Griseous Orb to Altered Giratina fusions, or Rusted Shield/Sword to base Zamazenta/Zacian forms. You can use those forms separately for fusions (Pikachu + Crowned Zacian, for example).

Mega Evolutions
Use Mix 'n' Mega rules, so Mega Fused Pokemon get the same stat buffs that their parent would, and the custom ability is overwritten with the Mega's ability. Also the SECONDARY type changes accordingly.

Eiscue -> Noice Eiscue
A/B/C/D/E/F becomes A/B/C(-40)/D/E(-40)/F(+80)

Darmanitan -> Darmanitan-Zen
Stat out with its base form, the pure Fire type, as the basis of the fusion. Then the stats are made as A/B/C/D/E/F to A/D/(C+50)/B/(E+50)/(F-40) and secondary type becomes Psychic (even if there was no secondary type).

Galarian Darmanitan -> Galarian Darmanitan-Zen
Stat out with its base form, the pure Ice type, as the basis of the fusion. Then the stats are made as A/B/C/D/E/F to A/B(+20)/C/D/E/F(+40) and secondary type becomes Fire (even if there was no secondary type).

Meloetta Aria -> Meloetta Pirouette
Meloetta's form changes are the same as its normal forms, and you create the fusion as if it were fusing with Meloetta Aria form, and then it can transform with Relic Song. This causes the secondary typing to become Fighting (even if there was no 2nd type before). Also, the stats are swapped, not calculated again. If the base form has stats A/B/C/D/E/F, the Fighting-type form has stats of A/D/F/B/C/E.

Aegislash Shield -> Aegislash Blade
Aegislash works similarly to Meloetta, with you creating the Fusion with the Shield form, and then changing forms with King's Shield or by attacking (i.e. How Stance Change works) and the stats swap like such: A/B/C/D/E/F becomes A/C/B/E/D/F.

Minior Meteor -> Minior
This one is similar to Aegislash in how it should be fused. Start out with Shield Form then the Stats swap as A/B/C/D/E/F to A/C/B/E/D/(F+60)

School Wishiwashi -> Solo Wishiwashi
This one is very tricky, but we found a solution.
It goes as follows:
  1. Calculate the raw stats (and apply DNA boosts when applicable) of the other parent and Wishiwashi-School.
  2. To find the stats of Solo form, do the following:
    • Multiply Attack by 1/7
    • Multiply Defense by 1/6
    • Multiply Special Attack and Special Defense by 1/5
    • add 10 points to speed
    • round all stats down when applicable

Zygarde-10% -> Zygarde-100%
A/B/C/D/E/F becomes (A+162)/B/(C+50)/(D+30)/(E+10)/(F-30).

Zygarde-50% -> Zygarde-100%
A/B/C/D/E/F becomes (A+108)/B/C/(D+10)/E/(F-10).

Dawn Wings and Dusk Mane Necrozma -> Ultra Necrozma
This is how Stitch98 figured out the form change process:
Just like Giratina Origin and Black&White Kyurem, this forms are considered as independent from regular Necrozma, since they are obtainable outside of the battle. Fusions that come from any of the two can transform into their Ultra form if holding the UltraNecrozmium Z, similarly to Mega Evolutions. Do note that the UltraNecrozium Z cannot trigger Light That Burns the Sky. Ultra form's characteristics are defined as follows:
  1. Calculate base form's stats as usual, making averages between Necrozma DW/DM's and other DNA donors's stats and adding a total of +20 base points.
  2. After adding the +20 bonus, select the highest attacking stat between Attack and Special Attack and the highest defensive stat between Defense and Special Defense.
  3. The stat spread of the Ultra form is calculated like this:
    • Attack and Special Attack are equal to the highest attacking stat chosen before, +10 base points.
    • Defense and Special Defense are equal to the highest defensive stat chosen before, -30 base points.
    • Speed is equal to base form's Speed, +52 base points.
    • HP are the same as base form's.
  4. Secondary type of the Ultra form becomes Dragon (even if there was no secondary type).
  5. The ability of the Ultra form becomes Neuroforce.


Eternamax Eternatus
Eternamax is both unobtainable and an in-battle form change that is only triggered in story, so it can't be used in any way.

Zero Palafin -> Hero Palafin
A/B/C/D/E/F becomes A/(B+90)/(C+25)/(D+53)/(E+25)/F

Ogerpon Masks and Terastalized State
- To start with, you have to fuse with Teal Mask Ogerpon, doing the usual process for generating fusions
- Holding a mask will cause it to change form, having its ability replaced by Mold Breaker, Sturdy or Water Absorb and the Ogerpon type replaced by Fire, Rock or Water
- Lastly, Ogerpon fusions will be the only fusion allowed to terastalize. They will have their tera types locked to their respective Ogerpon forms and their abilities will be replaced by Embody Aspect

Role Justification: while it lacks recovery, its typing and ability compensate for it. Concussion gives an effective bulk boost by negating boosting items, while also giving it an effective attack boost by disabling lefties. AV sounds pretty fun here and there are lots of options for a fourth attack depending on how the meta evolves.

Ability Description: This Pokemon's highest stat is raised by 1 if it attacks and KOes another Pokemon.

Intended Role: Set-Up Sweeper, Special Sun Abuser
Role Justification: Honorary UB goes hard. Generally is a DD sweeper with Liquidation, Earthquake and Stone Edge as its main moves. It has slightly above average bulk which, combined with its excellent defensive typing, makes it easier to set up. Physicals sets generallys truggle vs Grasses though, with its best option being Gunk Shot which isn't very reliable. One could also try Power Trip as a generically strong coverage move after having set up a little, but that is more niche. Aqua Jet is a fairly decent option for revenge killing and general Speed Control. Krooking Wake could also function fairly competently as a Choice'd user with any of the 3 Choices thanks to its statline and Beast Boost.

Special sets suffer a bit from having a fairly mediocre initial damage output, but can actually go pretty well after one KO. Main reason for it to go Special is Flamethrower as that allows for a way to delete Grasses. I expect Special to not be as good as Physical sets since there's no move to boost Sp Atk, but once Sun eventually drops into the meta, special could become real. Do believe that its natural bulk and typing might end up allowing bulky sets to be real as well, but that one I'm not sure how viable it'd be.

Intended Role: Defensive Pivot, Hazard Control
Role Justification: Intended as a glue mon, Armarizor makes use of its good typing and decent bulk to gain a lot of switch in opportunities and help swing the game's mommentum. Its got some interesting mix of utility between strong priority at Technician Bullet Punch (+Swords Dance), pivotting with U-Turn, field control with Defog, status spreading with Will-o-Wisp and Lava Plume and breaking potential with Armour Cannon. Its like a mini Heatran that trades Magma Storm for some extra layers of utility.

Intended Role: Set-Up Sweeper
Role Justification: Whereas the base form is more oriented towards defense, Mega Armarizor uses its natural bulk to find set-up opportunities. SD + Flame Charge goes kinda hard as a double dancer, and boosted Bullet Punch is always relevant. That being said, fire/Steel coverage is not fantastic and this mon is somewhat lacking in what other moves it'd like to run, as well as having somewhat of a 4MSS. Hard to tell if it'd be allowed Slate 1 as we have no idea what else is getting in, but I'm sure that as the metagame develops, this would eventually be fine.

Having the option to run Sucker Punch adds a nice layer of Speed Control to the mon and its fairly interesting Status movepool let it break past walls through disrupting their moves with Taunt and healing its own statuses with Jungle Healing. Overall just a mon that's pretty good at compressing different roles.

In lieu of that, it can serve as a good revenge killer with its potential STAB options, along with Sucker Punch and U-Turn. Swords Dance builds are unfortunately much harder to run due to the Protean half of the ability, though.

This Mon also has the option between damaging and contactless pivots if need be, with access to both U-Turn and Parting Shot, which may be useful in Scarf sets. If you feel like running a set built to stay in the fight, consider a classic Swords Dance + Drain Punch combo.

Role Justification: Before there was Pillage, there was Faustian Pact, introduced in the final slate of FE Alpha. Having all of your contact moves become Skill Swap leads to some funny interactions, especially the infamous ability-stealing U-Turn. This mon also has a good deal of control over when it swaps abilities because it has a spammable STAB Earthquake that doesn't make contact. Beyond hitting hard and swapping abilities, Ursherigus also has respectable bulk, a useful typing, and some great utility options, making it as potent defensively as it is offensively.

Role Justification: I'm not gonna lie, I came up with Stackatuff first and this mon was added in as a freebie, but the two are certainly distinct. Gargaton is a fat Steel with recovery, so even with one of the worst types you can pair with Steel and two painful 4x weaknesses, it's got a solid foundation. Its real claim to fame, though, is Gigaton Hammer. With 107 base attack, it lets Gargaton hit way harder than most defensive mons, albeit every other turn. There's not too much else to say outside of that, it's Garganacl's more offensive cousin who makes all of the salt children uncomfortable on Thanksgiving.

Its offenses may be low, but this thing's movepool ensures it's putting on pressure every time it comes in, with Salt Cure forcing chip, Knock and Thunder Wave neutering mons, and Stealth Rock being Stealth Rock. Rock/Fairy is a typing with a pretty unique set of resistances, but does leave a 4x Steel weakness as Stack's Achilles' heel, a type rarely run as coverage that can be teched in order to help break it. Besides that, this is just an all-around well-optimized defensive mon, and a fun spin on the Garg-alike formula.

Role Justification: Very versatile and competent pivot which combines a great collection of abilities with a strong statspread and good typing. Fighting/Flying is good defensively and offensively and War Veteran as the cherry on top completes the mon which allows it to run a wide variety of sets, with Mach Punch being notably run here with Landotop sky high 130 base Attack. Stealth Rock for Hazard Setting, U-turn as an always excellent pivot option, Rapid Spin for hazard removal in place of now dexited Defog, and Triple Axel for insane potential damage and great coverage. It's your typical glue mon that runs similarly to how a Landorus or a Scizor plays.

Landotop is a solid overall mon which can fill a variety of roles on a team. It's lack of apparent weaknesses are its strongest point but it doesn't mean it still doesn't have them. Strong special attackers can still catch it off guard, especially with Landotop's less than stellar speed, and although its Fighting/Flying type is good, its not great and still leaves it susceptable to common types like Electric, Ice, and Fairy. Landotop also lacks many moves to break past bulky Fairy-types and thus gets walled by them.

Role Justification: Strong special breaker under Grassy terrain with a surprisingly strong dual STAB. The secondary Fire-typing is important as it allows Arbolosion to not get walled by opposing Grass-types or Steel-types which it struggles with, and also means it can get off both Leech Seed and Strength Sap since it checks Grass-types that usually switch-in on these moves. Although it no longer has a Ground resist due to its new typing, it also kinda gets it back due to Grassy Surge reducing the damage of Earthquake which is one of the strongest Ground-type moves. Overall a solid special breaker and wall.

That being said this mon still gets hit neutrally by moves like High Horsepower and Headlong Rush to hit for neutral (and boy will there be a lot of fusions with paradox Pokemon) and combined with Arbolosion's less than ideal physical bulk makes it susceptible to these types of moves. It also lacks completely perfect coverage as its two stabs are walled by Dragon-types, and Earth Power is sometimes hard to slot in since moves like Strength Sap are just so important to have on most sets.

Strength Sap also absolutely destroys physical attackers, the set rounding it out with the consistent Terrain Pulse. Leech Seed chip + Burn chip + Strength Sap + High STAB options means that even without SpA investment Arbolosion demands attention lest you allow it to root in your team's defenses.

Role Justification: With a great statspread, solid Speed tier, excellent coverage, and a decent typing, Necrosicott becomes a fearsome offensive special attacker with important role compression capabilities. Its versatility with its sheer number of possible sets makes it an adaptable mon that allows it to take many roles on a team, mostly due to its conjunction against a good defensive ability alongside a decent ability that is good against HO teams. Its good SpA combined with high Spe make it a great special wallbreaker, especially alongside its high BP STAB moves and good coverage. Ontop of that, U-turn makes it an offensive pivot that can switch with chip damage and retreat against its common checks. It can even run a Calm Mind set to act as a wincon against weakened teams once its checks are gone. Due to its versatility, it can do like Starmie did for 8+ generations and switch sets on the dime whenever it seems to be falling off in a particular aspect, meaning it will most likely (will probably regret this statement in the future but whatever) always have some sort of usage no matter where it falls in the meta.

In spite of its utility, Necrosicott is held back by a slightly lacking statspread and a middling typing. Psychic/Fairy is decent enough on its own, but defensively its nothing spectacular. Necrosicott is also surprisingly frail on the special side, so strong breakers can potentially cripple it hard and leave it in range of being KOed by hazards. Lastly, although its SpA is good, it's not great and leaves it unable to scratch particularly bulky special walls which also leaves it setup bait for bulky setup sweepers. This is mediated somewhat however by Necrosicott's access to U-turn.

However, it is 4x weak to Ice and is very slow.
