Can deal damage with barb barrage as a last resort. Only pivoting option is chilly reception, which can lead to chipping your own team with hail. I can see it going well with Brambleswine due to hail (or snow, I’m not sure what this mod has) and the lack of shared weaknesses. No baby form because the fusion maker doesn’t have slowpoke-galar for some reason, and I’m not going to put it in manually right now.

Role Justification: Rock/Ground is memed defensively but as we all know is devastating offensively. Slap U-Turn on it and you’ve got perfect coverage right there, and in the case of choiced sets you can opt for whatever coverage. Though as mentioned not only does its statline out it as a glass cannon, its typing ALSO screams the same. Golisoros and Deciperior are both able to tank whatever it can dish out and injure it horribly in return, and Varantis outright deletes it, need we mention it losing Moxie below half health, but the firepower it brings cannot be ignored.

Role Justification: Made mostly as an answer to our offensive Darks while also giving us another Water option. Its bulk is only above average on the physical front, but its Speed being so high and its movepool having many fantastic utility tools such as Scald, both Flip Turn and Teleport or Wish all make it a fairly versatile defensive option. All the while it can also run a Calm Mind set. It does have a fairly mediocre Sp Atk to start with and no Moonblast, but its great neutral coverage off STABs with a wide range of Coverage mak up for that somewhat.

Role Justification: Should be fairly straightforwards. While its stats are average across the board, its ability lets it dish out heavy damage with Sludge Bomb and its bulk allows it to comfortably set up Quiver Dance. Oblivion Wing is a great STAB option to keep yourself healthy and make use of the Sp Def boosts from QD, but you may also opt for Hurricane as the ability boosts it to ~145 BP, gaining a significant jump in BP from OWing. It has both Focus Blast and Heat Wave as coverage against Steels, although the current metagame favours Heat Wave as Iron Meta and Slither King are both neutral to Fighting.

It does have its downsides though, namely a Stealth Rock weakness locking it to Boots, a middling initial stat spread before it sets up and it not being able to fit all of the coverage it wants into its sets. It also is threatened by Ice Shard Brambleswine and Sucker Punch Sol Valiant as means of being revenge killed.

Role Justification: Another take on the "offensive water with defensive utility" route that I've been going through with my subs, its a Water that lacks recovery but has some passive healing that isn't too strong but can still give it some much needed longevity. Essentially its a weaker Regen but means that you can't just click U-turn and heal your health and switch to your teammate. It forces you use Tapu Cycle's healing a lot more thoughtfully since it has a clearly defined weakness now, hazards. Aside from that Tapu Cycle has some excellent utility from pivoting to Knock Off to Defog, but most importantly it can now support its teammates really well with Misty Terrain. The biggest problem Misty Terrain usually has is that in some cases its a double-edged sword for the user; Tapu Fini for instance has Scald but under Misty Terrain it can't burn the opponent. This is the way to bypass that by making Misty Terrain an even better support tool. Tapu Cycle summons the terrain on switch-out meaning that you can status your opponent before setting up the terrain for your teammates and bring in your setup sweepers to boost without fear of a burn or getting paralyzed, and this also means Defog doesn't end its own terrain either.

Cycle's biggest strength is its versatility. It however lacks some immediate power and can sometimes feel a bit lacking to use, and its nerfed Regen while still gives Tapu Cycle much needed healing, means it actually gets worn down by hazards if you're not careful. It also matches up poorly against some of the Steels in this gen, which while it can still threaten with its coverage, it often times wants to run something more useful like Knock Off or pivoting meaning it misses out barely on a few key mons leaving it always walled by something.

Its movepool isn't crazy expansive but with Downpour under its belt the mon has some surprising effective bulk to act as an effective defensive switch-in to key mons like the aforementioned Roaring Sal (which it outspeeds), Mega Muktaria-Alola, Slither King, and Golisoros-Paldea-Blaze while still maintaining vital offensive pressure. Also a fast Tspiker which is fun in hazard stack teams.

Relishadow fits the bill, with Goli eating up its strong Tech-boosted Rock Blast and not minding Spectral Thief or Poltergeist. It's also easily offensively checked by basically every other offensive mon in the and checked by Deciperior. Other that, basically everything else dies to Loaded Dice or Banded Rock Blast, making Relishadow a great wallbreaker if you can get it in. Hazard Control: This Pokémon can press Defog on many of the offensive threats in the metagame due to the threat of its priority, and its neutrality to rocks and immunity to spikes, webs, and tspikes means it won’t be worn down over the course of a game by repeatedly switching into Hazards.
