FWG Feat Volcarona and friends!

Hi Smogon Community!

I'm Mobvious, 5th gen player, took a break in september just at the beginning of 6th gen, and finally came back 2 weeks ago. After some tests to see the current metagame ( I was completly lost at the begining :( ), ive finally made something produtive and had a good amount of succes with it!

This is my first RMT, feel free to comment and suggest, including for English (I'm Baguette btw )

Let's start by the Teambuilding:

You've read the title, not big surprise there. I wanted absolutely Volcarona in this team, because it s a fantastic mon in every way. After a quick look, i knew the best way to use him was a FWG core. Nothing to add.

With Volcarona, I wanted a physical wallbreaker, something that put a great amount of damages instantly and remove Blissey. The blue rabbit fits perfectly in this role, you know it.

Then I wanted something to remove entry hazards. There's many more things that could do this now, but most of them are weak to SR, and i don't want to add more weaknesses to SR. Excadrill is now free, so i've decided to give him a chance

To end the FWG core,I wanted a support. My team isn't really fast, and weak to burn. Ive found the Tinkerbell. Good cleric

SR! SR! SR!!!!! SR is love, SR is life, SR is everything. You are SR, I am SR.

My team was weak to both Char-X and Talonflame, and this is what i've found to wall them.

And now the details:

volcarona.gif

Volcarona (F) @ Lum Berry
Ability: Flame Body
EVs: 240 HP / 252 SAtk / 16 Spd
Modest Nature
- Quiver Dance
- Fiery Dance
- Bug Buzz
- Hidden Power [Rock]
At first, i was using the classic set with speed investment, but volcarona was taken too much damages during her setup. The bulkier set is much better imo. Quiver Dance is chosen over Fire Blast for the accuracy, becase a missed move can make the difference beetwenn a Volcrona sweep and a dead Volcarona. HP Rock is for Charizard and Talonflame who deserve to die when they come. Lum Berry because toxic and para stop sweeps.

azumarill-gif.12794

Azumarill (M) @ Choice Band
Ability: Huge Power
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Waterfall
- Play Rough
- Superpower
- Aqua Jet
This one is a classic. Choice Band Azumarill doing what he have to do, wallbreaking. He removes Blissey, her sister Chansey, bulky Dragons, and any kind of wall, exept maybe Skarmory. EV are simple: Max HP, Max Atk, in order to take a couple of hits and hit back really hard, thanks to Huge Power. Could Maybe try AV, but the drop power is significant.

excadrill-gif.12796

Excadrill (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Mold Breaker
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Rapid Spin
- Earthquake
- Rock Slide
- Iron Head
When i've chosen Exca, i was wondering, which item? Lefties, LO, AV? AV sounds great. Arf, Talonflame and Char X are still in the place :/ . Then i used Google. And I've found this. Oh god. Exca is not ready to loose his main job. Oh no. This is, ladies(?) and gentlemen, the face of the devil. He revenge kills anyone thanks to his insane natural damages, and put so much pressure on spinblockers. If i could hide the scarf until the right moment, that's a kill. I love him, definitly a full time member of this team. Mold Breaker is usefull for Levitate users

celebi-gif.12809

Celebi @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SDef / 4 Spd
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Psychic
- Recover
- Thunder Wave
- Heal Bell
Spe def Celebi, with some good supports move. She ends the FWG core, covers a lot of my weaknesses, spread para, do some good damages for a cleric. Also Natural Cure allows me to absord some obvious burns/poisons. Psychic is chosen over Giaga Drain cause she doens't need recovery, but damages as she as no burn/toxic to spread. T-Wav support is quite good for my sweepers.

landorus-therian-gif.12810

Landorus-Therian (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 248 HP / 172 Def / 88 Spd
Naive Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- U-turn

My pivot SR setter, Intimidate is quite good, his own damages are strong without any investment. I would change HP Ice for Stone Edge, but Gliscor is a thing, and i can't deal with him without that HP. He s good, but he can be changed. Same for EVs, i m not sure about them. Let me know your suggestions!

rotom-wash-gif.12811

Rotom-Wash @ Chesto Berry
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 30 Spd
- Volt Switch
- Hydro Pump
- Will-O-Wisp
- Rest
Last but not least, the washing machine. He walls a lot of physical things, inculding my 2 top threats Char-X and Talonflame. I prefer ChestoRest over Pain Split, and i can use Rest again since i have a Cleric. Why 30 IV Speed? Because a lot of times it was Rotom-W VS Rotom-W, and i want Volt Switch AFTER he moves. Will-o-wisp help me handle most of my threats

Threats:

Like I said, Talonflame and Char-X are the 2 tops threats. Gliscor is nnoying too, cause Volcarona can't setup against him without fear, and outside Landorus-T's HP, i have trobles to deal with him, since he has just to sub to avoid damages from Azumarill. Heatran and Keldeo are also natural threats, but I can deal with them with Excadrill and Celebi fairly easily. Will add more things if i find new threats.

So that's it, comment, enjoy ,hate, and leave comments bellow as usual.I take everyting! Au revoir.

I could be wrong, but I don't think there are any moves your Celebi has that Mew can't learn, and since you don't have a grass STAB like Giga Drain on him, it's probably better to switch it out for Mew, who has less weaknesses. This is just a first glance observation though, maybe you really need the extra water or ground resistance, but it doesn't look like it.

Hidden power rock on volcarona, is a good idea, but talonflame with gale wings, is faster than you.
It's a good team, but i think you can use celebi with EV's in defense, HP, and 4Spd, and then use calm mind, recover and psychic.
You need one more defensive poke, like goodra, to have a 'safe change'.

You're right, I prefer Natural Cure over Synchronize but yeah i m gonna test this. EDIT: I ve read again my RMT, and Celebi is usefull against Keldeo. With Mew it would beacome a serious threat, since it won't resist to a 252 Specs Hydro PUmp from Keldeo.

I use HP Rock like i said on switch-in. I know Talonflame. Also I have no problem in defense bulk, both Landorus-T and Rotom-W are doing way enough job. Goodra would not remove the Ice Weakness, and remove SR. And like I said, SR is love, SR is life.

True, it's only an alert.
And goodra is only an idea, in my team i use for that slowbro, but you can use what you want.
