  • Low Kick / Tera Blast

Kingambit is a bulky attacker who only provides extra offence. Its ability defiant is exceptional in a format containing many stats drops from electro webs, icy winds, snarls and intimidate. Its base speed is slow, opening the opportunity as a Pokemon complimented by trick room or as an anti-trick room pokemon against Calyrex-I, Indeedee-F and Farigiraf who are weak against Kingambit’s STAB dark attacks. Its STAB moves work generously against Calyrex-S, a prominent Pokemon in this restricted format, tanking its Astral Barrage and Draining Kiss while OHKOing it with STAB priority sucker punches, while still being capable of dealing super effective damage against tera fairy Calyrex-I with iron head. Kingambit has good matchups against opposing Farigiraf, being able to outspeed it under trick room as it 2HKOes it with STAB Kowtow Cleave and can even deal super effective damage when it terastalises to Fairy using STAB iron head. Low Kick or Tera Blast (Fairy) can easily sub each other out as they both serve as coverage options as their preference can be dictated on what type coverage is most desired depending on your team’s coverage needs. As Tera Blast Fairy ,, works favorably against the widely used Urshifu-R, Raging Bolts and Miradons. low kick hits Incineroars for great damage with a defiant boost from Intimidate. Assault Vest covers for Kingambit’s SpD flaw as it decreases the severity of Kingambit being abused around its low SpD.as well as Kingambit having the defiant ability which removes its need for the clear amulet from intimidate drops which allows extra flexibility for the item choice. Kingambit’s natural physical bulk allows extra leeway in investing extra SpD EVs as The spread allows Kingabmit to survive a life orb boosted max SpA Earth Power from Ursaluna-Bloodmoon, as well as being able to survive a Modest max SpA Tera Fairy Moonblast from Flutter Mane, as well as reducing the chance of being OHKOed by Max SpA specs timid heat wave from Chi-Yu. along with significantly reducing the chance of being OHKOed by max SpA Life Orb timid Landorus-I, while still being able to survive a Precipice Blades from Max Atk adamant Groudon. Tera Fairy allows Kingambit to gain resistance against its 4x fighting weakness, tera fairy would be preferred over flying due to the prevalence of electric types Raging Bolt, Miradon and even Iron Hands as it started to gain usage. As Fairy would be better defensively at a neutral standpoint as steel types such as Archaludon, Gholdego and Kingambit are not as widely used as opposed to previous formats, as well as pokemon usually carrying Poison move moves such as sludge bomb Landorus also decreased in usage, making tera Fairy overall the best defensive tera in this format.

Kingambit as a slow Pokemon is outsped by basically most the Pokemon in the metagame. As it can be easily OHKOed by both Urshifu Formes with close combat, who acts as counters as they can resisting its STAB dark and steel moves, Chien-Pao can act as a check towards Kingambit as it naturally outspeeds Kingambit and threaten OHKOs with Sacred Sword but cannot comfortably tank Kingambit’s iron heads or low kicks,. Incineroar also acts as a check against Kingambit purely because while it can easily 2HKO Kingambit as well as naturally outspeeding it, it also gives a defiant boost which should be considered. As well as Amoonguss being able to redirect Kingambit’s priority sucker punches, and also being able to comfortably tank its attacks. Kingambit selfishly works well in rain in mitigating its damage taken by fire-types, so Pelipper or Kyogre setting up rain would provide Kingambit extra staying power against fire-type attacks. Kingambit can cover in for Kyogre, switching in as its steel-type allows it to resist Rillaboom’s grass type attackers, as well as switching in for Urshifu-R, covering for its psychic and grass weaknesses. It can pair well with Farigiraf under trick room as armour tail blocks all priority moves, allowing Kingambit to not be abused by priority moves and allowing the low kick to coverage for Farigiraf’s dark weaknesses.

Kingambit is a bulky attacker who only provides extra offence. Its ability defiant is exceptional in a format containing many stats drops from electro webs, icy winds, snarls and intimidate. (This feels iffy, I'd reword this to say something like "Kingambit's Defiant works well into common moves such as Snarl and Icy Wind, as well as Intimidate)Its base speed is slow, opening the opportunity as a Pokemon complimented by trick room or as an anti-trick room pokemon against Calyrex-I, Indeedee-F and Farigiraf who are weak against Kingambit’s STAB dark attacks. (Specifiaclly the speed part is dex info, and move the partners into the sexond paragraph if not there already)Its STAB moves Dark-type attacks work generously great against Calyrex-S, a prominent Pokemon in this restricted format, tanking its an Astral Barrage and Draining Kiss while OHKOing it with STAB priority(Dex info) sSucker pPunches, while still being capable of dealing super effective damage against tTera fFairy Calyrex-I with iIron hHead. Kingambit as a slow Pokemon is outsped by basically most the Pokemon in the metagame. As it can be easily countered and OHKOed by both Urshifu Fformes with cClose cCombat, who with the Urshifu formes acts as counters as they can resisting itsKingambit's STAB dark and steel moves(only one urshifu form resists iron head, so if this important you should separate this into two different sentences),. Chien-Pao can act as a check towards Kingambit as it naturally outspeeds Kingambit and threaten OHKOs with Sacred Sword but cannot comfortably tank Kingambit’s iIron hHeads or lLow kKicks,. Incineroar also acts as a check against Kingambit purely because while it can easily 2HKO Kingambit as well as naturally outspeeding it, though it also gives a dDefiant boost which should be considered.
