[SET COMMENTS]
Galarian Weezing separates itself from other defensive Poison-types thanks to its two unique and potentially very useful abilities. Neutralizing Gas and Levitate give Galarian Weezing two very interesting defensive niche's that teams can explore, although its lack of reliable recovery proves to be a significant hinderance in practice. Strange Steam is the preferred STAB-move, as it has good neutral coverage and can potentially harass opponents with confusion. Will-O-Wisp allows Galarian Weezing to impair physical attackers like Ogerpon-W, Landorus-T, and Hisuian Samurott. Pain Split is Galarian Weezing's only form of recovery, albeit the flawed nature of the move makes it much less consistent than the options available to its competitors. Defog allows Galarian Weezing to remove hazards set by the likes of Hisuian Samurott, Ferrothorn, and Toxapex. Flamethrower allows Galarian Weezing to severely pressure Ferrothorn and potentially catch Steel-types like Mega Scizor, Melmetal, and Kartana as they switch in. Toxic Spikes are a rare move in National Dex, so Galarian Weezing can potentially use them to seriously irritate opponents such as Garchomp, Ogerpon-W, and Urshifu-R. Galarian Weezing's two viable abilities are the main reason to run it, and both have very different benefits that change the way Galarian Weezing plays and the kind of teams that it fits on. Neutralizing Gas has several very unique benefits; it allows, among other things, for Galarian Weezing to Defog or burn Gholdengo switch ins, deny Regenerator from common Pokemon like Alomomola, Toxapex, and Galarian Slowking, and set up Toxic Spikes into Mega Diancie and Hatterene switch ins. On the other hand, Levitate allows Galarian Weezing to become immune to Spikes and counter several dangerous Ground-types, such as Garchomp, Landorus-T, and Great Tusk. Black Sludge gives Galarian Weezing some passive recovery, allowing it to mitigate its lack of reliable recovery as much as possible. Heavy-Duty Boots can be used on Neutralizing Gas variants to mitigate Galarian Weezing's vulnerability to Spikes. Rocky Helmet is an option to punish contact moves from the likes of Urshifu-R, Landorus-T, and Mega Lopunny, although it noticeably impacts Galarian Weezing's already mediocre longevity.

The types of teams that Galarian Weezing fits on depends largely on its choice of ability. Neutralizing Gas is a great option for bulky balance teams that appreciate Galarian Weezing's ability to harass several Pokemon that often give balance teams trouble, such as Gholdengo, Gliscor, and Alomomola. These teams are well equipped to shore up Galarian Weezing's poor longevity and accommodate for its Ground-type weakness. Teammates such as Gliscor, Ferrothorn, and Gholdengo are common on bulky balance teams and appreciate Galarian Weezing's ability to check most Fighting-types in addition to the benefits that Neutralizing Gas provides. The aforementioned Ground-type weakness requires Ground-immunities to help out Galarian Weezing, so teammates such as Gliscor, Moltres, and Celesteela are good partners. Wish-passers like Alomomola can also help mitigate Galarian Weezing's lack of a reliable recovery move. Teammates vulnerable to entry hazards, such as Mega Scizor, Zapdos, and Ting-Lu appreciate how Neutralizing Gas Galarian Weezing can absorb Toxic Spikes and Defog even in the face of potential Gholdengo switch-in. Levitate variants of Galarian Weezing, although they still work on balance teams, can also fit on more offensive builds, which don't mind Galarian Weezing's lack of a reliable recovery but appreciate the unique defensive profile that it provides. Galarian Weezing countering most Ground- and Fighting-types in one slot frees up these teams considerably. Steel-types have excellent defensive synergy with Levitate Galarian Weezing, as they appreciate Galarian Weezing dealing with Ground- and Fighting-types while assisting Galarian Weezing with problematic Psychic-types. Gholdengo, Heatran, and Melmetal can help out against Psychic-types like Tapu Lele and Mega Latios, while they love Galarian Weezing switching into Great Tusk, Mega Lopunny, and Landorus-T. A Dragon-type, such as Mega Latios, Raging Bolt, or Dragonite is a good partner as well, as they help out with Galarian Weezing's weakness to strong Special attacking Fire-types such as Heatran and Mega Charizard Y while also assisting with Ogerpon-W, which Galarian Weezing is a shaky check to. Slower offensive teammates that can be revenge killed by common Ground- and Fighting-types make for good partners for Levitate Galarian Weezing. Raging Bolt, Kingambit, and Gholdengo are good teammates as a result.
