Galarian Zapdos packs one heck of a punch, or rather, a Thunderous Kick! With an excellent Speed tier and superb wallbreaking ability, Galarian Zapdos is a menace in the RU tier. Thunderous Kick can provide huge upside over the stronger Close Combat, giving passive opponents like Hippowdon Defense drops that can be taken advantage of with its other attacks. Knock Off removes Heavy-Duty Boots while hammering Ghost- and Psychic-types like Gengar and Reuniclus. U-turn similarly hits Psychic-types hard while providing entry points for special attacking teammates like Volcanion that can take advantage of Slowbro and Galarian Weezing. Protective Pads prevents Flame Body Talonflame and Rocky Helmet Galarian Weezing from hindering its ability to wallbreak. Tera Steel gives a key resistance to Fairy and Psychic, helping tremendously against Fezandipiti and Choice Scarf Gardevoir. Among the premier VoltTurn members, Galarian Zapdos partners well with strong special pivots like Magnezone and Hisuian Zoroark to wear down the foe.
