This team has way to many of my favorite pokemon in it! haha I am in love with the gallade-bisharp core. but i am having a bit of difficulty laddering past 1400 on showdown. So any comments on how to make the team better or different playstyle ideas or any other way to make this team better would be very much appreciated!
Gallade (M) @ Galladite
Ability: Justified
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Knock Off
- Skill Swap
- Zen Headbutt
- Close Combat
I am using Gallade because of its massive offensive presence. He makes a great wallbreaker and is fast enough to sweep with enough support.(1) Zen headbutt and Close combat and knock off for power and coverage and stallbreaking for my team (2) I chose to use Skill swap over ice punch or sword dance because it iis amazing in the current meta, stealing serperiors contrary for close combat, azumarrils huge power, intimidates, defiant, all that good jazz. (3)
Bisharp @ Assault Vest
Ability: Defiant
EVs: 64 HP / 252 Atk / 192 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Sucker Punch
- Pursuit
- Iron Head
- Low Kick
I am using bisharp because he shares no weakness with gallade and makes a great offensive core (1) I use an AV set that catches people off guard. AV works great on bisharp, allowing me to switch into and tank special hits it usually wouldn’t like clefables moonblast and togekiss airslash(2). Not to mention defiant is amazing. I run sucker punch for priority. pursuit to trap the latis and to predict switches (although i am considering putting in knock off instead) iron head for faeries, and low kick of t-tars and other bisharps. Max investments in attack for damage with enough speed to outrun a max speed azumarill. Rest in hp to increase its bulk (3)
Mandibuzz (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Overcoat
EVs: 248 HP / 136 Def / 108 SpD / 16 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Toxic
- Roost
- Defog
- Foul Play
I use mandibuzz for Defog and toxic support and pairs really well with mew (1). Great physical wall with enough special investments to avoid a 2 shot from focus blast lando. Enough speed to outrun neutral nature azumarril. Great at stopping gyarados (who is a problem in this team).(2) Awesome for stall. I am considering running whirlwind to force switches, although toxic roost does a good job with that already. Plus Foul play terrifies set up sweepers (3)
Landorus-Therian (M) @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 240 Def / 8 SpD / 8 Spe
Impish Nature
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock
- Stone Edge
- U-turn
I use lando as my primary stealth rocker. My slow u turn, and my physical wall. (1) I use this for intimidate and talon check. I also run stone edge to counter talons and other flying types. (2) Enough spdef to survive hp ice from mega manectric and enough speed to outrun most non scarfed magnezones. Rest in hp and def to increase its overall physical bulk. And it pairs really well with my heatran. (3)
Mew @ Leftovers
Ability: Synchronize
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpD / 4 Spe
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Heal Bell
- Roost
- Will-O-Wisp
- Thunder Wave
One of my favorite pokemon ever. I love running mew for the surprise factor (1) . Specially defensive, max investments too so I don’t get one shot from a life orb Gengar. (2) Runs heal bell so i can play more offensively with this team by healing any burn on my pokemon (3). Double statuses to catch opponents off guard. Thunderwave to slow down faster threats than my gallade, willo to weaken physical threats. Roost for longevity. I know it is taunt bait but this supports the team so well. Plus i don't stay in against taunt users anyway. (4)
Heatran @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Overheat
- Flash Cannon
- Ancient Power
- Earth Power
Another one of my favorite pokemon. Scarftran is a great addition to this team. Another talonflame counter and check, flash fire to absorb fire type hits, great late game sweeper and overheat to break walls. (1) Modest to maximize the damage output and to revenge kill more successfully. (2) Pairs really well with gallade too because he can take out any specially defensive threats, especially chansey. (3)
