Hey guys, I built this team the other day that turned out to be really nice on the suspect ladder so far for me. I wanted to know if there was anyway to make it better, so I came here. Thanks for any rate!
I started out with these 2, from the good cores section based off of the double dd core.
I replaced gatr with rotom-w, so i could have a more balanced core, has good synergy with zard.
I added gliscor to pair with rotom and give me a ground type and give me a specially bulky mon
I dropped gliscor for latios bc lati just hit harder on the special side and gave me defog
bisharp gave me a knock off user, as well as a fairy punisher along with great breaking ability with SD
sash mamo allowed me a ground type and a ice type, giving me rocks and a hard hitter
clef gave me a good specially bulky mon as well as a reliable fighting/dragon resist.
Gambino (Charizard-Mega-X) (M) @ Charizardite X
Ability: Tough Claws
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Flare Blitz
- Dragon Claw
- Roost
The star of the team, charizard x. This thing tears teams apart in OU right now, utilizing dd and putting dents in any switch ins. DD allows this to be a reliable win con, abusing his great dual stab coverage in this meta. It does lose to heatran, but i have ways to play around it with other mons. Roost allows for more logevity and lets me stall out rotoms that cant touch you when you mega. This thing overall is the main form of winning, so its a huge part of this team.
Made In China (Rotom-Wash) @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Pain Split
- Will-O-Wisp
- Volt Switch
- Hydro Pump
Rotom allows for great coverage to go with zard, and just stalls out mons pretty well. Wisp and pain split give it great utility, weakening many threats to zard, such as tran. volt switch and hydromiss pump are great for momentum and damage. Levitate allows it to check drill in sand, which is be a massive problem to this team. Leftovers maximize recovery, which is useful since pain split isnt reliable recovery.
Eon (Latios) @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Defog
- Hidden Power [Ground]
So, this thing is a beast. It drops dracos on things, essentially weakening almost everything it touches for zard, as well as psyshock helping out. Defog is the main reason why it came to the team, for it supports zard well and preserves mamo's sash if i save it. I ran HP Ground bc im weak to alot of steels, namely bisharp and heatran, but i didnt want to run HP fighting bc i lost a speed ev. I lose the speed ties too much, and it heats tran a little harder for zard. roost was on it, but i felt i used this to defog and go or hit hard and then proceed to sweep, so it wasnt nessacary.
Axl (Bisharp) (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Defiant
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Sucker Punch
- Knock Off
- Iron Head
So, this monster is great support for wearing down threats for zard, as well as being a backup win con. SD allows the wall breaking potential to skyrocket, and sucker punch provides a hard hitting stab priority. Knock off is the best move in this meta (except for all RNG king scald) and iron head punishes fairy well. garchomp is a problem to this, but other mons can easily deal with it, as well as this can knock off a helmet to reduce recoil damage for a zard sweep late game.
Luna (Clefable) (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Soft-Boiled
- Moonblast
- Fire Blast
- Thunder Wave
Clefable is a fat wall that goes along with my team well, handling fighting and dragon types that seriously annoy this team. Also, it lures out a lot of steels with fire blast, crippling them for later sweeping by zard. Also, moonblast is pretty spammable, as well as twave. Soft boiled increases longevity, making this more of a nuisance to deal with. Magic Guard allows this to absorb status and be a good scald switch in.
Mamaswine (Mamoswine) (F) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Ice Shard
- Freeze-Dry
So mamo is my ground type, and also my rock setter. It usually acts as a suicide lead, however if it can be saved it is a great asset to my team, checking cm raikou and other electrics based on spreads. EQ hits exceptionally hard, and ice shard provides priority. However, mons like manaphy and rotom w were coming in on this and doing their thing, so i decided freeze-dry over knock off was a more useful move. this can also clean at the end of the game, clicking ice shard for extrodinary damage. A common switch to this is ferro, which is kinda of a pain for the team, but this can usually widdle it down to the level where it isnt needed for zard to click flare blitz and waste its health.
Fren Threat List:
STEEL TYPES: These things are annoying af for this team, and my only reliable way to kill is Char X flare blitz, which reduces longevity.
Keldeo- This thing literally has 0 switch ins on my team reliably. I can revenge it pretty well, but the damage it provides really does suck.
SAND- Hippo/Tar + Drill literally 6-0s me with a little damage to rotom. It can be played around very carefully, but its annoying af to deal with.
Replays will come hopfully with me working for reqs within this week.
Any rates are appreciated, Thanks in advanced :]
