Welcome to Gambling Mafia! This is an outside communication game where the uninformed Town battles against the sneaky, organized Mafia. The twist is that players can play more complex strategies by making "bets" with their actions, spreading a single action across multiple targets to pick their spot when they know the odds.

Rules:

1. Follow all site-wide, Circus, and life rules.

2. This is an Outside Communication game. Players can communicate both on Smogon and in Discord, in private. Dead Town Players cannot communicate with living players. Dead Mafia Players can communicate with their teammates.

3. This game has traditional Day/Night phases, which are 48 hours each. During the day, all players may vote for a player in this thread in Bold. Please do so in a way which is easily readable. At the end of the day phase, the player who has the most votes will be executed and their role is revealed. A tied vote result sin no execution. During the night, players submit actions, the details of which are described below. The game begins on Night 0, and no kills are active on Night 0.

4. During the night, players may spread their targeted actions among up to 3 players, allocating a "share" of their action to each, totaling 100%. For example, I can target Player A 50% of the time, Player B 30% of the time, and player C 20% of the time. Players CAN self target with their action, but with no more then 50% of their share.

5. When actions are resolved, split actions are resolved in expectation. Rather than roll the dice on what happens, I will determine how often players will receive results based on every player's played strategy. For any action which normally generates results on success, a player accrues the share of their result equal to the amount of the time that action was successful on them that night. When a player accrues 100% of a result from a single player's action, they lose 100% of that result, and the player who performed the action gets the result. No one is aware what partial results have been accrued on players.

Example:

-I am an investigator and I target Person A 50% of the time, Person B 30% of the time, and Person C 20% of the time
-My brother is a safeguard, and he safeguards Person A 50% of the time and Person B 50% of the time

What happens is Person A accrues 25% of an investigate, Person B accrues 15% of an investigate, and Person C accrues 20% of an investigate, and those stick around forever. If any of them ever accrue 100% of an investigate from me, they lose 100% of an investigate and I get their Role PM on the cycle that happens.

6. You may NOT copy and paste Role PMs, logs and the like on Night 0. You may do all of these things starting from Day 1. You may never share screenshots of any of these things.

Could I get a clarification on what this means please?
So in the example, Person A is investigated 50% of the time, and safeguarded 50% of the time. That means if I was to run the game a million times, then Person A would be investigated 25% of the time (because they have to be investigated and not safeguarded)

So in the host sheet I note down that they have 25% of an investigate, that is what they accrue.

Do you have any other questions?
 
So for something like investigative you have a running total like you build on it night to night right or am I misunderstanding that - like if I have 25 percent n1 and get 25 percent n2 I’m then on 50 percent

Safeguard is actively cutting a relative amount each night if *new* actions targeting the same person but is the safeguard percent also stacking?

Yes, the investigate keeps stacking, if you got 25% one night and 25% the next night you have 50%.

The safeguard doesn't generate results for the safeguarder, so it doesn't stack from night to night. Partial safeguards are already doing the work they're supposed to by preventing non killing actions the night they are used, they just do so less effectively per person if split
