Garchomp @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Earthquake
- Poison Jab
- Brick Break
This is my first team, so be nice! I started off building the team with Garchop because he’s my favorite mon and he’s a good set up sweeper. I use the combo of rocky helmet and rough skin because I like the extra damage it deals. I usually get 1 swords dance in and then use it sparingly, like on switches or protects. I chose earthquake, poison jab, and brick break as opposed to the usual set to cover more threats in the meta. Brick break is used for dark, steel types and screen users. What do y’all think about that moveset?
Tyranitar @ Leftovers
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP / 216 SpD / 40 Spe
Careful Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Crunch
- Thunder Wave
Tyranitar was the next mon added. I chose leftovers to keep him healthy. He’s the stealth rock setter. Phaser with thunder wave. The usual crunch and earthquake. I’m wondering if a dragon dance set would work better?
Celesteela @ Leftovers
Ability: Beast Boost
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Sassy Nature
- Leech Seed
- Heavy Slam
- Flamethrower
- Protect
Next, I chose Celesteela mainly to counter the prevalence of Landorus-T and grass mons/moves. I hate that guy. Haha. Anyway, I’ve never used Celesteela before, so I went with the moveset from Smogon. Seems to work alright.
Toxapex @ Black Sludge
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Baneful Bunker
- Scald
- Recover
- Haze
Naturally, I chose Toxapex to again, deal with Landorus AND complete the celepex duo. I’m not a big fan of having scald be the only direct attack but haze prevents me from getting set up on.
Tangrowth @ Assault Vest
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 12 Def / 244 SpD
Sassy Nature
- Giga Drain
- Knock Off
- Earthquake
- Sludge Bomb
Tangrowth is my pivot for most things. He also has good synergy with Toxapex and Zapdos. I chose assault vest plus 4 moves to cover as many team weaknesses as I could.
Zapdos @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Static
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Discharge
- Heat Wave
- Hurricane
- Roost
Finally, Zapdos was the last to join the team. I chose 3 moves plus roost over defog for the coverage. Do y’all think that is a mistake? Heavy duty boots so I can switch in and out as I please. Static for defense. Volt switch might be a good option?
Ability: Rough Skin
