Gardevoir: team-support or self-support?

Gardevoir has the stats and the moves to fill many different roles.

There is the supporter set that helps the team through Wish and Will-o-Wisp. There is the Calm Mind set that allows her to boost her own stats and pose a decent threat to the opponent. There are few other novelty sets that each function in their own unique ways.

But overall, what role do you think Gardevoir should serve? Should she play it safe and support her team, or should she be self-supportive and stand on the front line?

Wish is always fun, and STAB Psychic with some IV's in there can hurt - really, she can multitask...

Wish, WoW, Psychic,T-Bolt is what I run for the battle tower.

Gardevoir is a good Supporter.
Just look at the Moveset:
Wish, WoW, Hypnosis, T-Wave, Healing Wish

Also it can resist Sp.ATKs well so it can try to switch in like Bliss xP

Except Blissey has over 2 times her HP, Natural Cure and isn't weak to Dark and Ghost, of course. Gardevoir is really kinda average due to that wretched HP and meh speed.

Its best use is probably Hypnosis/Will-o-Wisp/Psychic/Thunderbolt or something. Just make sure to make use of these status afflictions, because Weavile and Tyranitar will be all over her. Healing Wish is crap for something with so many better options.

I have to agree with Mekkah here. Gardevoir is too slow to support herself, but at the same time is outclassed by the likes of Blissey in terms of full out walling and support, so it is wise to search for a happy medium. The set mentioned above is probably best, but Wish can also be useful from time to time as not many good Pokemon learn it.

Gardevoir can't have all five on the same moveset IMO. You could mix and combine some of Gardevoir's move options to make a simple, but very effective moveset, like the moveset Mekkah has up. For example, you could combine Wish with 2 offensive attacks and a status condition, perhaps.

Nuff said.

Wow, no Calm Mind? Gardevoir still have the 125 base sp. atk, you know.
I was using a Choice Scarfer one, but I just found that Calm Mind-Salac is better. Works wonders for me. Her speed isn't too bad, 280 with Timid is enough to outrun Heracross and some base 90 like PorygonZ and Lucario.

Edit: My Gardevoir's set is Substitute/Calm Mind/Psychic/Thunderbolt. Substitute to block status and activate Salac.

In the case of a team supporting Gardevoir, should she invest any EV in special attack or speed?

I have noticed in the D/P Analysis that Gardevoir received 24 EV in speed to give her 202. This would allow her to match speed with things that intend to use Agility to reach 404 to catch Choice Scarf Heracross. I am not sure if that is intentional, or if the EV given was simply leftover.
