Gastrodon [QC 0/3]

Overview: Gastrodon possesses a lot of moves that make it a very effective wall. Along with those moves, it also has excellent typing: only one weakness and immunity to Electric and Water type attacks. Used properly, this Pokémon can become one of the bulkiest and most Powerful Pokémon in the entire metagame.

Mixed Setup Wall
Move 1: Amnesia
Move 2: Acid Armor
Move 3: Recover
Move 4: Scald / Toxic
Item: Leftovers
Ability: Storm Drain / Sticky Hold
Nature: Calm
EVs: 252 HP / 224 Def / 32 SpDef

Moves:
•Amnesia and Acid Armor work together well so that you can build up your defenses immensely
•Scald has a high chance of burn, which allows you to destroy physical attackers even more
•Toxic is also good because it allows you to take out foes with recovery
•Recover will prevent almost any foes from taking you down permanently
•Scald is generally better than Toxic because less Pokémon are immune to water or burns than are to being poisoned

Set Details:
•Defense and Sp. Defense EVs, when combined with the Calm nature, balance out Defense and Sp. Defense at a value of 128
•Sticky Hold or Storm Drain can be used as the ability
•Storm Drain gives you an extra type immunity, to water
• Sticky Hold can prevent you from losing Leftovers to Knock Off
•Leftovers is great on this set because when you boost your defenses all the way with Acid Armor and Amnesia, attacks from most Pokémon won't take away much more than 1/16 of your health

Usage Tips:
•The best thing to do with this set is to max out your defenses, recover yourself, and then spam Scald.
•Acid Armor can be used when your opponent has a physical attacker out, and Amnesia can be used when your opponent has a special attacker out
•You really don't want to switch out with this set once you've set up, so you should try to take out any counters for it that your opponent has before you send it in
•If you know your opponent is about to use a water or electric attack, you can send in this Gastrodon to take it

Team Options:
•You should probably pair this with a Pokémon that is super-effective on grass types, such as Delphox
•Another Pokémon that's good at helping out this set is Reuniclus, because your opponent's walls, which can usually heal themselves of burn damage, will have a hard time taking it down if it has Magic Guard.
•This set also works well with Pokémon that have weaknesses to Electric or Water, like, once again, Delphox

Checks and Counters:
•Grass types: Rotom-Mow, Mega Abomasnow (especially with swords dance), and Tangrowth
•Taunters: Pokémon who can use Taunt, such as Whimsicott and Liepard, can stop Gastrodon in its tracks if they come out while it is setting up Amnesia and/or Acid Armor
•Pokémon that put to sleep: Pokémon that can use Spore or Hypnosis, most notably Amoonguss, can stop Gastrodon from setting up, just like Pokémon that can Taunt.
•Pokémon with recovery: Unless you opt for Toxic over scald, Pokémon with recovery moves can easily stop Gastrodon from doing anything.
•Pokémon with Toxic: Gastrodon doesn't have anything that would stop Toxic from destroying it over time. The best it can do is recover a couple times.

you clearly have zero experience with gastrodon as the set is terribile and not viable, this is in the wrong format and really there is just too much i would have to handfeed that i will just reject

I appreciate the effort a lot! but you must first have experience with both the Pokemon and with writing the analyses (you can look at other analyses as an example, and use the template that can be found here to present the analysis). I suggest finding a C&C mentor and ask them to help you start out. I apologize if galbia (above) was too harsh n_n we appreciate your enthusiasm to contribute

This guide might be able to help you also, it's a beginner's guide to contributing in c&c.
