Gears of War 2

I can't find any friends who are interested in buying it so I might hold off. But I do have some games to trade in for EB Canada's trade in promo this month (Trade 2 games get any new release for $10), so I might get it anyway for now. Single player and multiplayer both bore me to tears, but the co-op campaign in Gears was a lot of fun so that's why I'm getting it. Co-op campaign + Horde mode.

Nope. And I don't care. Like I said, Gears of War is no where near an interesting enough franchise for me. An average game made fun by co-op. Horde mode sounds fun too but I gotta wait for my friends to get the game first!

I liked the first gears mainly because it was just you and your team trying to accomplish their task and stay alive against overwhelming odds. Gears 2, I know has widened the scope, I'm not sure if it will make the game better in my mind. Still horde mode, and Co-op campaign are reason enough for me to purchase this game.

Despite what I said. I now have GoW2. I had two game I bought for $25 total for a promo at EB (2 games worth $8 or more in TIV + $10 for any new release). So it was essentially $35 + tax. Found out that I can trade it in by the end of the month for at least $40 back. So hey, seems like a free rental.

I just need to find a friend to play co-op with and the actual time to play it.

Alright, so I just beat the campaign on Normal, and although it was a tad longer then the first games, it was still pretty short, but definitely fun while it lasted.

Now time to beat Insane with a friend, then beat Horde, then play online.....

I still haven't opened it. Impressions are starting to hype me. If I don't know any offline friends with this by this weekend I'm gonna just find someone online from here, GAF, or CAG or even play single player. I can't play until Thursday anyway. Damn schoolwork.

I'll be picking this up soon, and I would play with you Firestorm but alas Wrath of the Lich King launches this weekend, so fuck any other video games :(

The only 'problem' with this game is that Epic kinda scrwed Multiplayer mode. Let's just say that you'll never be able to say 'I want to play on Mansion, Execution mode, first to 10' again. Now it all works by a voting system. Horde Mode is amazing, though. And Solo mode is a little more difficult, you'll definitely need a friend to complete it on Insane if you don't want to go... well, insane. /=

This.

I could handle the first Gears' insane mode, but this one was...well, insane. I had to go through the checkpoints countless times, my A.I. allies were more of a nuisance to me...man I need to get a second controller.

Finally got around to picking this up, my brother and I played for a good amount of time over the weekend. Nothing but horde, and I must say it is an amazing mode, so much fun. 2 players on normal is just the tip of the iceberg though, 2 of my friends are getting the game this week, and then the fun really starts. 4-5 players, hardcore, on the mansion is going to be insane.

I have to agree multiplayer was butchered. The matchmaking lobby seriously takes like 5 minutes to find a game, and by them time i get into one and it starts I've already picked up my DS or gotten on facebook. Then they went and nerfed the shotgun, sniper rifle, and boomshot to the point where I don't even think its worth picking them up. The chainsaw and grenades are now pretty over powered.

On the plus side, horde mode is amazing and insane campaign is pretty nice.

I'd love some help on insane mode campaigning if anyone wants to get the achievements.
