Gem and Canis go fight in a mirage

I don't know why I decided to sign up for this, but damn it, I did. A 6v6 LC Doubles match, folks! Let's get it oooooooooooon!

Hoenn has always had an incredible amount of Water Pokemon in the area, which is why when people heard of a new odd gym that was on and off, it was immediately thought to be a new Water Gym.
You, as a challenger, prepare yourself with the mightiest of grass-types and electric-types, including your good old Scizor, because you are sure that Rain will weaken any sort of Fire moves they would somehow throw at you.
Heading towards Pacifidlog, you ask an old man whether the gym has appeared. To your surprise, it has! You quickly hop on your Surfing Pokemon and head towards the odd island that is Mirage Island.
The many Wynaut surprise you. You thought they were extremely rare! As you try to approach one to capture, a Flareon jumps out of the grass and growls at you! You're not well prepared for Fire Types, but the Gym is surely a Water-type one! "Calm down, Jet. I am sure this is a challenger." An old man's voice calls out to the named Flareon. He stops growling and stretches out. Phew! Wait, challenger?
An orange-haired man approaches you. It must be the Flareon's owner. "I assume you have come to take on the Gym Challenge?" You nod. "Then, by all means, I am Michael Helix, of the Mirage Island Gym! While I am not an official Gym Leader, I will give you a warm-up for the Fire Gym! The fiery spirit upon me and my fire types will scorch you, but not this land!" Fire types?! Oh no, this isn't good! The Wynaut surround you and the leader, trapping you from leaving. Michael sends out his Pokemon.... humans?! And the Flareon too! You send out your Pokemon, and find out they're humans as well! Ugh, you think the sun may be doing a bit too much to your head...
Summary:
  • Permanent changable Sun.
  • Burn is stronger due to the sun. Burn's physical attack BAP reduction is 4 instead of 3. In addition, all moves with a burn chance have that chance doubled and Will-O-Wisp has 100% accuracy. Hah! You better have Burn Heal!
  • Due to the fact that Mirage Island counterbalances the power of spread moves by tilting ever so slightly, and that it is in the air, all spread moves' BAP are reduced to 50% their original BAP. This includes, but is not limited to; Earthquake, Surf, and Lava Plume. However, Spread moves that were ORIGINALLY NORMAL OR FLYING TYPE (Normalized Earthquake does NOT count) are excluded, and their BAP stays at 75% when used on 2 or more opponents.
  • Camouflage turns the user into a Fire-type; Nature Power becomes Fire Blast and Secret Power has a 30% chance to burn.
  • There's also illusion. Lots of it. Your mind plays tricks quite a bit. No actual effect in battles, but there will be lots of odd moments that seem like you're on ecstasy.

One question: Does the BAP spread reduction only occur when there are multiple opponents, or would a spread move on a single opponent retain its full BAP?

After the trainers settle down and think of their actions, the first mirage of the day wears off, and Canis' Pokemon go back to their normal forms, so they can now focus on the battle instead of bitch and moan about their sudden color changes. A few moments pass, and we're off to a fiery start on with a powerful Flamethrower from none other than Shaun the Vulpix, and even though Coracier has a little help from his Heatproof ability, he still takes a good chunk of damage! To make things even worse, Coracier now has a burn! The pain train then continues with a spooky Shadow Ball from Josephine the Eevee, and Coracier doesn't have anything to help himself out with that! It's super effective! Lincoln the Tirtouga stops biding his time and opens up with a wicked Shell Smash, not only leaving pieces of his shell along the battlefield, but majorly boosting himself as well! Coracier the Bronzor then takes a second, then lashes out and creates a massive Trick Room, completely twisting the dimensions on Mirage Island! What a fierce start!

With the "increased" speed from the Trick Room, Coracier spins around and shoots out a layer of Stealth Rocks all around Shaun and Josephine's feet. It won't hurt them, of course, but in a match like this, its sure to cause some damage sooner or later! Lincoln then channels some demonic energy and lays a dastardly Curse on himself, setting himself up even more! In an attempt to flinch Coracier, Josephine jumps on the Bronzor and Bites down, but Coracier simply shrugs off the damage. Too bad he already moved as well! Shaun then picks up the baton and sends out a Dark Pulse straight at Coracier, dealing a moderate amount of damage.

Gem's Pokemon finally pick up the offensive as Coracier summons an Ancient Power and barrages Josephine for... quite pitiful damage, actually. Lincoln, now set up, begins to... set up some more, laying down another Curse. Looks like Canis might be in trouble soon (if Lincoln ever attacks, that is)! Meanwhile, it looks like Canis isn't slowing down any time soon, as Josephine and Shaun keep up the offensive with another Shadow Ball and Flamethrower! What's this? It looks like Coracier is beginning to slow down! He's not exactly in dire straits just yet, but it doesn't look like he can take much more punishment! Meanwhile, Lincoln is in prime position for some pounding, but will that make up for the fact that he's up against two Pokemon that are in almost perfect health?

With Coracier out and Espropiet the Eevee in, Gem's side is looking incredibly fierce, and it looks like Canis is in for some trouble this round! Espropiet starts out the round with a Helping Hand to Lincoln, and with the Eevee's help, Lincoln unleashes a massive Aqua Tail straight at Shaun, dealing absolutely massive damage! It looks like that one hit almost took out half of Shaun's HP in one hit! Josephine then starts their counter-offensive against Lincoln by firing off another Shadow Ball, dealing a modest amount of damage, but Lincoln doesn't seem to have been slowed down at all! Shaun, slowly getting up from the massive blow, looks straight into Lincoln's eye and deletes Aqua Tail from Lincoln's mind, completely Disabling it!

Lincoln, undeterred from his rampage, quickly teared at the ground and completely submerged himself in the earth. Espropiet then gathered up some Toxic goop and spews it at Josephine, but while it did disgust Josephine quite a bit, she simply shook the poison off and Refreshed herself, and the Toxic was all gone! Shaun then roared at the sky and psychically Imprisoned all other members of the battlefield, and now Canis is the only one who can use some really key moves! After a brief interlude, Lincoln Digged up from the ground and bashed Shaun, leaving the Vulpix in a tricky position!

With one Pokemon badly injured on each side, the battlefield seems a lot more even now. It's anyone's game now, and we'll see who takes advantage of the situation next round!

by the way, I must applaud you for saving your vulpix the other round. however, you forget that dig is Damaging/evasive, and not protective evasive.

eevee: Hidden power (eevee) -> helping hand (tirtouga) -> hidden power (eevee)

once vulpix is KO'd, redirect all attacks (except helping hand) to the opposing eevee.

With one of Canis' mons down, he quickly brings Shaun back to his ball then takes another Poké Ball, throws it, and out comes Squall the Starly! After taking a large amount of damage from the Stealth Rock, the round begins! Abusing Gem's sub like a true asshole pragmatist, he orders Josephine to Detect all attacks coming at her, and sure enough, Lincoln barrels straight towards the Eevee with a Helping Hand-boosted Stone Edge! Josephine gives off a little giggle, taunting Gem's Pokemon, but at the same time, she's beginning to show signs of exhaustion, and Lincoln seems to be short of breath as well! After a brief pause, Squall throws out a barrage of Steel Wings at Lincoln, dealing meager damage, but at this time, any damage is incredibly important in stopping the ancient turtle's onslaught!

Following Josephine's lead, Squall quickly throws up a Protect, and Lincoln redirects his Smack Down to Josephine, throwing the Eevee back a good distance and rooting her to the ground (as if it could come off it anyway) all at once! Espropiet then calls on her Hidden Power once more and smacks Squall's barrier with it, sapping a tiny bit of energy away in the process! Josephine then goes on the offensive and chucks a Shadow Ball straight at Lincoln's head, dealing a critical hit in the process! A lucky break for Canis indeed, but Lincoln still has HP to spare!

Repeating the strategy of A1, Josephine Detects all oncoming attacks, then quickly puts it to use by avoiding another Stone Edge from Lincoln! Espropiet then throws a blob of Toxic goop at Squall, thoroughly encasing the Starly, badly poisoning him! Undeterred by his status condition, he throws out a second barrage of Steel Wings at Lincoln, dealing meager damage, before taking a slight amount of damage from the poison!

The area around the Pokemon flashes, and it appears that the Trick Room has disappeared! It seems like that was the only thing keeping the mirages at bay, because as soon as the flashing ended, the sky turned dirt brown and the ground turned sky blue! Getting ready for the next round of combat, it looks like both Lincoln and Josephine are on the verge of exhaustion, and Espropiet is getting tired quickly! It looks like Canis can finally turn this match around next round, but is the speed advantage really enough?
