Hello Guys!

I was bored and I decided to come up with this offensive team that starts with a Lucario. I am sure it needs improvement, but it works quite nicely. The idea is to beat down on Lucario's counters, and cripple fast threats, and finish late-game with Lucario. So, lets get into it!

The Building Process
448.png

First thing is first, I need to start off with Lucario. Since I am building around him, I needed to know his most common counters. So with Conk, Gliscor, and Quagsire as the top three, I want to eliminate those first. However, Lucario is quite weak to any faster fighting types as well, or even priority attacks when he has used CC too much. So I need to work with it.

So, I added Rotom-W because it can deal with Gliscor with ease, and it hits Conkedlurr very hard. This does give me a big Virizion weakness, but so far this core looks solid. Rotom-W is weak to other Rotom-W, and its weak to only grass type attacks so I know that the next Pokemon should be able to handle these. Those, and I need something to hit weather with.

So, my next member I choose is Celebi. Celebi hits Quagsire hard, it stops Virizion, and it can takes hits for Rotom-W. Not to mention the side benefit that Celebi is one of the best ways to deal with Scrotum. Celebi's weaknesses are covered by Lucario for the most part, and vise versa. However, since Celebi doesn't run Psychic too often (and mine won't be), I still have trouble with fighting threats.

So, I lastly added Landorus. Sand is an uprising threat, and Terrakion is too hard to ignore. I know what I said about fighting threats, but I think I can cover that with another teammate. Landorus works nicely with Rotom-W as they can perform the Volt-Turn combination that most teams love. Landorus and Co. make up my offensive core. So, I want to get down to some support.

I added Gyarados as my next member. Its perfect! You see, I wanted to run my Pokemon with nature like Adamant over Jolly, for Lucario to name one. And Gyarados does a nice job spreading T-Wave on my opponent. With access to Taunt, stall can kiss my ass! Its intimidate and flying type make fighting fighting types easy. Terrakion is a problem, but Landorus can take care of the non-scarf ones, and if I can catch it on the switch, it will be paralyzed and Lucario can take it anyways.

For my last member, I just feel that Jirachi will do wonders. To name one, I needed something to help me against Dragon teams. I don't fear Magnezone 'cause Lucario can handle it and stuff. Jirachi provides me rocks, wish support, and paralysis support. It can also tank special hits aimed at my team. It is the glue to my team and makes up the team. Lets get into the details now!

Gyarados (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Intimidate
EVs: 244 HP / 252 Def / 12 Spd
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Thunder Wave
- Taunt
- Roar
- Waterfall

Overview:

Gyarados is my physical wall. With Intimidate, and its typing, it can do that very well in today's metagame. It can tank Bullet Punches, and it can spread Thunder Wave around. I am debating whether I should go for Dragon Tail or if I should go with Roar. Dragon Tail might seem like the best choice, but Roar forces substitute out too, and Dragon Tail can't do that. I will probably test them both out, tell me what you guys think. I lastly added Waterfall for the STAB attack to finish this up. Gyarados works nicely with Lucario, and it flows nicely. I have to watch out for Stealth Rock, but with Leftovers and bulk its usually not a problem anyways. I just have to play him right.

Jirachi @ Leftovers
Trait: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 HP / 32 Def / 224 SDef
Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Iron Head
- Body Slam
- Wish
- Stealth Rock

Overview

Jirachi can tank many special hits for the team. I picked it mainly for its paralysis support and its synergy with my physical wall, Gyarados. Jirachi has its bonuses too, like being able to eat Draco Meteor, spread rocks, and provide wish support. Wish support is nice since with my team synergy, I can usually take any hit aimed for Rachi and heal to full with the switch in. Switch in's like Gyarados who then don't give a shit if rocks are up. Jirachi isn't meant to hax my opponent to death, but if it helps me beat down on some threats, I will do it.

Landorus (M) @ Choice Band
Trait: Sand Force
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- U-turn
- Stone Edge
- Earthquake
- Explosion

Overview:

You might ask me something profound like, "Why Explosion?" Or maybe you might ask, "Why not Choice Scarf set instead?" Well, I went for the banded set because it hits harder, and with my mega paralysis support, I don't need no scarf. Explosion is way better than any fighting move (cause Lucario), and way better than HP [Ice] (Cause Explosion will do more to them regardless). It hits sand pretty hard, and is a solid check to Terrakion. It can U-turn and with its high base speed and para support, it will be doing plenty of damage, enough to make me forget that Scizor exists.

Lucario (F) @ Life Orb
Trait: Inner Focus
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Swords Dance
- Close Combat
- ExtremeSpeed
- Crunch

Overview:

This is like, my all-star here. Lucario is here to set up a SD, and then proceed to sweep the opposing team. It has like, the best coverage move. With its counters killed, and checks paralyzed, I can sweep with this thing 99% of the time. The only thing that can usually stop my sweep, apart from *fuck you* hax, are priority users. Such as Bullet Punch. Even though I resist, CC lowers my defenses and so they are pretty big threats. However, Gyarados is more than happy to take most resisted priority attacks, but I do lose SD boosts and I might have to take hazard damage again by switching out, so I try my best to take out priority users first. I picked Crunch over Ice Punch because Ice Punch is redundant due to Rotom-W and Gyarados taking down Gliscor for me. I really hate Gengar, but if paralyzed, a Crunch will take him out.

celebi%5B1%5D.jpg

Celebi @ Life Orb
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 88 HP / 240 SAtk / 180 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Thunder Wave
- Leaf Storm
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Recover

Overview:

Celebi also provides Thunder Wave support. Not why I added it, but it helps Gyarados and Jirachi out a bunch. Tinkerbell here can fire off a T-Wave on predicted switches, and Leaf Storm some water type threats. Its recover is vital, as I need this thing to be as healthy as possible so it can come in on Rotom-W. Jirachi is 2HKO'ed by rain-boosted spec Hydro Pump, so yeah. This thing also needs to counter Scrotum, and rain is pretyy hard to do that too as well. Fortunately, +2 LO Lucario can take out Rotom-W wish E-Speed, and if I can paralyze Rotom-W, CC. But, other than Rotom-W, Celebi supports my team and beats down those big threats.

rotomwash.png

Rotom-W @ Choice Specs
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Volt Switch
- Hydro Pump
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Trick

Overview:

My final member. Rotom-W is crucial to my team, as its my best thing to hit Gliscor with. I chose specs over my favorite choice set, the scarf set, because of my huge paralysis support. HP [Ice] is so I can hit paralyzed dragons fairly hard, or just to hit them on the switch. Trick helps me bunches with walls that give me problems. Rotom-W is hugely needed on this team well, and has great synergy with Lucario

Conclusion

That's my team, I hope you guys try it out and give me some pointers and tips. This is just a fun team I made yesterday so I know it probably needs some work, but I hope this team can ladder high. I got to around 1200-1300 with this team, and since I am no ladder freak, this is pretty cool. Usually hax is a big problem, and baton pass teams are a bit bitchy when I have roar over Dragon Tail with Gyarados. Other than that though, this is pretty solid, I do hope you try it!!!!

The largest problem I see is that nothing can withstand a LO Starmie. If someone decides to lead with one, your entire team starts with a noticeable disadvantage. And Magnezone, if it manages to make a safe-switch in, can wreck your team with T-bolt and HP Fire.

Based on your descriptions, it doesn't seem as though you believe you have an expendable member, so I can't really tell you what to switch, but those are glaring hole IMO. Of course, I haven't been keeping up with current trends, so these two threats may not be as prominent

They are threats to this team for sure, I try to keep Celebi healthy for Starmie, or get Luke to +2 so I can E-Speed on Starmie. Not too many of my opponents lead with it, but it is a problem. I have actually been testing scarf Landorus, and it helps against Starmie so I will update OP with that, as U-turn can weaken it enough for e-speed kill.

As for Magnezone, its not a problem when you consider that Luke and Landorus are easily beating it down. I just have to be careful with Jirachi when its around.

Thanks for rate!
