Gen 6 first team (in-game)

Hello! After looking at other teams here and seeing some youtubers in action I decided to make my own in-game team. After playing with the team against random passersby on wi-fi I feel there are some things to improve.

The team plays alright. When I lose it seems to be more because of bad plays on my part then great imbalances in the team. But things like having two rapid spinners, no dedicated special wall and having two setup sweepers seems suboptimal.

Edit
Made some large changes to the team (see team preview and changelog). But because my internet is having some problems I have not had the chance to test them.

Blastoise (M) @ Blastoisinite
Ability: Torrent -> Mega Launcher
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Sp.Att / 4 Sp.Def
Nature: Modest
Rapid Spin
Water Pulse
Dark Pulse
Aura Sphere

The mon I wanted to build a team around. I always liked Blastoise and with his mega evolution I really wanted to try him. He is the rapid spinner of my team, which influenced the other team members. His bulk and special attack power, together with the nice coverage of his moves makes him really fit my playstyle and I am happy to have chosen him to build my team around.

Dragonite (F) @ Leftovers Weakness Policy
Ability: Multiscale
EVs: 252 Att / 252 Spe / 4 Sp.Def
Nature: Adamant
Dragon Claw
Dragon Dance
Thunder Punch
Earthquake

Dragonite seems to really like rapid spin support, so with Blastoise at the center of the team, dragonite seemed a logical second pick. With multiscale en leftovers she is reasonable bulky, capable of taking a hit or two and in some cases get to full HP again using the leftovers. However I sometimes overestimate what she can take. After one or two dragon dances, and with sticky web support she has cleaned house more than once.

Volcarona (F) @ Life Orb
Ability: Flame Body
EVs: 252 Sp.Att / 252 Spe / 4 Sp.Def
Nature: Timid
Bug Buzz
Flamethrower
Quiver Dance
Protect Psychic

Just like Dragonite Volcarona seems to like rapid spinners. She is a sweeper, like dragonite but on the special side. I don't really know what her fourth move should be, so for now I have given her protect, I was thinking about roost but she seems to take to much damage for that. Because this is in-game I didn't want to bother with hidden power yet. She is not used as often but provides a nice backup should Dragonite go down, or to soften the opponent up.

Mamoswine (M) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Own Tempo
EVs: 252 Att / 252 Spe / 4 HP
Nature: Adamant
Ice Shard
Icicle Crash
Stealth Rock
Earthquake

My new lead. By using him instead of Smeargle I have lost Sticky Web (have to see how big this loss is) and gained a member that can hopefully take down some opposing mons. In the battles I have done with the team I really missed having an ice attack against some opponents which I now have. However, having used Mamoswine in the Battle Maison I have found him to be a bit slower than I thought (jolly nature could fix this) and a lot frailer. Will have to do a few test battles to see how he works out.

Trevenant (F) @ Lum Berry
Ability: Harvest
EVs: 252 HP / 180 Def/ 76 Spe
Nature: Impish
Shadow Claw
Will-o-Wisp
Leach Seed
Rest

My spin blocker and general annoyance. She is on the team to protect everything Smeargle worked so hard for to set up. With the physical bulk and will-o-wisp I also use her against physical sweepers. The EVs are to outspeed Tyranitar and Scizor but I will probably change them to something more general, like 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Sp.Def or 252 HP / 252 Sp.Def / 4 Def.

706.png

Goodra (M) @ Assault Vest
Ability: Gooey
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Sp.Att / 8 Sp.Def
Nature: Calm
Thunderbolt
Dragon Pulse
Sludge Bomb
Flamethrower

A standard assault vest Goodra. My new special wall to complement Trevenant. The moveset is not final. Sludge Bomb will be upgraded to Sludge Wave when I get the TM (spending to much time at the Battle Maison :P). Dragon Pulse and Flamethrower are also possibly upgraded to Draco Meteor and Fire Blast. Besides these move upgrades I am thinking about changing something to Dragon Tail so opponents can't set up on him.

Closing Thoughts:
Looking at the roles of the partymembers I have the feeling my team is relatively balanced, having two sweepers (special and physical), two walls (special and physical), a sealth rock user and rapid spin support for the sweepers.

Imo, I like chantey because it has better physical bulk, but go for blissey if you want passive leftovers recovery.

Change your dragonite Set a little bit. It isn't necessarily bad but there is better ways that you can get coverage and add to its sweeping Potential. Here is the set I use:Dragonite @ Weakness Policy | Weakness Policy
Adamant Nature: 252 Atk / 252 Spd / 4 HP
Dragon Claw | Dragon Dance | Fire Punch | EQ

this set gives him the same coverage that MegaCharizard X, and after one DD on a predicted Ice Beam or fairy move, you will have +3 Atk, +2 Sp. Atk, and +2 Spd. Overall, it's a very effective set. On Volcarona you may also want to use a coverage move rather than Protect. Magic Coat > Spikes on Smeargle as well; Spikes takes a very long time to set up, so I'd rather run magic coat to stop other smeargles and anti-leads in their tracks.

I want to try Weakness Policy on Dragonite, however I like Thunder Punch instead of Fire Punch. Against Togekiss etc. it is really nice so I don't know if I will change that. Magic Bounce also sounds good. I tend to almost never use Spikes anyway. Smeargle is switched out most of the time as soon as Stealth Rocks and Sticky Web is up. Seeing as Giga Drain is not available at the moment, which coverage move would you suggest for Volcarona? The only ones I can think of are Psychic or Hurricane, and I don't really like the accuracy of Hurricane.
