SS OU Gen 8 reverse sticky web team

Hello! This is my first ever post on here, so big sorry if I mess anything up. But I wanted to post a team I made and already tested out a bit on ladder both to get some opinions and to show the community. Also sorry if this is the wrong place to post this. But besides that, here's my Gen 8 reverse sticky web team!

:galvantula:
Galvantula:

My obvious sticky webber, really the only good one in my opinion. First round send out to get the webs out, people aren't afraid to send out a stealth rocker against him either to set up rocks which is actually something I want for when I send out Cinderace after to court change. Not really much to say about this guy.

Galvantula @ Focus Sash
Ability: Compound Eyes
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Volt Switch
- Sticky Web
- Discharge
- Energy Ball

:cinderace:
Cinderace:

My boy Cinderace, he's the whole reason this idea even works. His court change move allows me to switch the field hazards around which sets up sticky webs on my side of the field allowing later mons with Contrary and Competitive to get a nice boost. He's almost always the second one to be sent out, after you get some sticky webs up and volt switch into him or sack Galv to get him in. I run focus sash to make sure he's able to get the court change off since he's such a glass cannon.

Cinderace @ Focus Sash/Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Pyro Ball
- U-turn
- Taunt
- Court Change

:dragapult:
Dragapult:

My heavy hitting dragon friend, he's got clear body to avoid the speed reduction from sticky webs along with just being a beast of a mon. He's basically my mid to late game clean up crew, I stick a life orb on him and just let him go at it with outrage. I run steel wing and psychic fangs too though if I want to deal some good damage without having to commit to outrage. I have fire blast for ferrothorn.

Dragapult @ Life Orb
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
- Psychic Fangs
- Outrage/Dragon Darts
- Steel Wing
- Fire Blast

:malamar:
Malamar:

Octodad with some hard hitting super moves, you probably already get the gist of his setup. You send him out after you got some sticky webs set up for a nice speed boost and go to town with superpower and throat chop. I put a chesto berry and rest for some recovery and topsy-turvy to revert stats on possible gmax mons that I might be sending it out against. I went full hp and def as it seems to me that there are more hard hitting physical mons then there are special ones. He's more late game as you normally have to get rid of a few select mons before he can start sweeping.

Malamar @ Chesto Berry
Ability: Contrary
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Impish Nature
- Superpower
- Throat Chop
- Topsy-Turvy
- Rest

:milotic:
Milotic:

She's beauty, she's grace, she's my water snake ace. She's tanky and hits hard, she'll be your main gmax mon and tanky sweeper. After you send her out on the sticky webs and get that good competitive boost very few mons can stand up to her. Substitute for predicting switch outs and to grant a little protection vs toxic.

Milotic @ Leftovers
Ability: Competitive
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Recover
- Surf
- Ice Beam
- Substitute

:falinks:
Falinks:

Last and not the least is Falinks. He's your back up gmax if milotic dies or if you need to sack her to take something big out. He gets a mayor stat boost from no retreat and can then jump into gmax to start taking names. First impression in the off chance he's kept alive on low health on a switch out so he can deal big damage later with first impression.

Falinks @ Leftovers
Ability: Defiant
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Adamant Nature
- No Retreat
- First Impression
- Poison Jab
- Close Combat

Bonus mons
:bisharp:
Bisharp:

Another option besides Falinks is also Bisharp, being a sold revenge killer for treats like Gyarados and Dragapult he can prevent sweeps and hits incredibly hard with a boosted +2 sucker punch. He's not as good of a gmax mon as Falinks, but arguably provides some much needed help against some big threats. His weaknesses are also covered fairly well by the rest of the team.

Bisharp @ Life Orb
Ability: Defiant
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def
Adamant Nature
- Sucker Punch
- Iron Head
- Night Slash
- Substitute

EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Volt Switch
- Sticky Web
- Discharge

Cinderace @ Focus Sash
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

Really unique and fun team. I tried it out with heavy-duty boots on cinderace and it can make it harder to get cinderace in but keeps the pokemon more useful when there's sticky webs on your side after the court change.

Some other ideas to maybe play around with are throwing t-bolt or thunder on dragapult to deal with gyarados since he's everywhere.

I'm also interested in maybe playing around with Bisharp in this team somewhere. Maybe instead of Falinks? Having Bisharp be able to come in with +2 stab sucker punches sounds pretty strong.

I've been playing around with this team a lot recently still and been having a real struggle with gyarados in higher ladder, another big issue is also Dragapult leads with Dragon Darts. People read out that I'm starting with Galvantula ( not a hard read ) and go Dragapult and kill him before he can set up webs with dragon darts. I actually haven't been keeping this team updated on this post and I kinda feel bad about it. I'll see about adding some to the post with what I've learned, personally Bisharp is sooo much better than Falinks since he can revenge kill so easily and hits like a truck. He also allows me to send him out counter predicting Dragapult Dragon Dart suicide leads and possible kill them with sucker punch. ( or at the very least forces them to switch out into something more manageable. ) He might not be as great of a gmax as Falinks but he's just so much more optimal for the team. I also like the idea of heavy boots Cinderace, I'll definitely add that to the post as well and give it a spin later.

I've been running your team in SwSh. Like everyone said, the dragon dart leads are killer and competitive doesn't proc on self made webs. If they have dragapault I'll usually lead with mine and about 95% I out-speed them. Probably cause it's casual wifi battles and not everyone is max IV/EV? Idk. Also, it's amazing when they lead hatterene magic bounce. Alot of the time when my Gavantula comes out they switch to their hatterene. The webs bouncing back count as theirs and Milotic absolutely starts shredding and God forbid gyarados comes out with intimidate, its nasty. Heavy boots on either Falinks or cinder is good. If you're up against a hatterene you can bounce your sticky, court change, then bounce another sticky so both sides are webbed. It's situational but there have been times I was able pull it off safely. I enjoy the Malamar set as well, sometimes I sweep over half their team with him.
