Gen V Bulky Beaters

Intro: Let me start out with this... I'm not a particularly talkative person without prompting so if you have any questions or want clarifications that I did not address just ask and I'll explain to the best of my ability.

The Theory: Basically I rely on good type coverage and few weaknesses to get my bulky pokemon in on things that it has a type advantage on. From there, take a hit or two, dole a couple out and go from there. Please Rate, and thanks in advance

Swampert, the lead. Boasting only one weakness and access to stealth rock with good bulk, as long as the opposing player doesnt lead with a poke that has a grass attack, stealth rock is up and I can either start roaring or beating opponents with earthquake or ice beam. Or if need be, I can call him out and save him for later, reserving ice beam for when the dragon or ground types come out of the woodworks.

Yep, its Heatran... everyone knows this guy from last gen, but now he's even more dangerous if you know how to use him. Give him a balloon and hes only afraid of water and fighting essentially. Give him HP Grass and he can catch those pesky ground types even more off guard in the sand storm teams. Other than that, STAB with Fire Blast. Type coverage with Earth Power particularly to deal with fire types and slay the dragons with Dragon Pulse.

Scizor, another monster from fourth gen is back, and even though waters have been given boiling water to burn him with neutral damage, he is still one mean revenge killer. Bullet punch will finish off anything that is weakened. Bug Bite to hurt grass and psychic with superpower to break those normal type walls as well as deal with other steel types that might try to wall. Finish him off with pursuit and you can make some mean traps.

Wash%20Rotom.png

Rotom-W with the type modifications that came with Gen V has proven time and time again to be a monster. Like a typical rotom he has the ability to thunderbolt and will-o-wish to take out fliers and other water types like usual, but with hydro pump he can catch ground types as well as fire. Give him pain split for even more survivability and he can even kill physical walls from time to time with his powerful stab.

Rankurusu.png

Ranculus or Rankurusu, the only gen V pokemon to make an appearance in the team. Incredible bulk with incredible S-atk, sign me up. He is all about type coverage. Ghost ball to take out psychics and other ghost types, Psychic as a STAB and response to the fighting types that think they can run rampant like doryuuzu, Focus blast to take out steel types that try to wall and finally HP Ice to catch the dragons, ground, and grass types in a tight spot. Give him Magic Guard and Life Orb has no downsides, and toxic spikes can even be considered beneficial since it means he cant be paralyzed.

Breloom is here to top it all off. With Poison heal and a toxic orb his low defenses dont mean too much if he can take the first hit. With powerful Stab Seed bomb for water and ground types, spore to neutralize threats, and Substitute to set up the STAB Focus Punch, Breloom can prove to be quite the monster of the opponent doesnt already have a plan to deal with him.

So thats it... or not all. Additional Thoughts: Would it be a good idea to take out Rankurusu and Breloom for a bulky Celebi set, and fill in the last spot with a Zapdos?

Thanks again guys!
