[Gen V] Trick Room New!

My old TR team : http://www.smogon.com/forums/showthread.php?p=3252084#post3252084

Now since then i have changed my whole team .

My new team :
Dusclops.png

Dusclops (M) @ Evolution Stone Trait: Pressure
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Def / 252 SDef
Sassy Nature (+SDef, -Spd)
- Destiny Bond
- Trick Room
- Pain Split
- Seismic Toss

This guy is my lead . He has nothing extraorinary for being a lead . He just uses Trick Room[unless a taunt is predictable] then depending upon the opponent/damage taken uses either of the 3 moves or switch . Being with an Evo stone , has one of the highest [if now the highest] def and sp.def . Even Pokemon with max attack EVs can't OHKO it with STAB dark moves . Its guranteed to be able to take a few hits and pain split is just amazing since it allows to renew a lotta health [generally while my opponent hits 60% or so health assuming he started out full , Dusclops having only 222 HP regains nearly full hence its low HP is just a part of its epicness] .

Ppl tend to think tricking it and making it lose the evo stones means that Dusclops is now a OHKO for nearly anything . I have proven them wrong again and again . Even w/o the stone , he has epic defense . He wont be able to take a +2 Shadow Sneak twice , but he will be able to generally activate Destiny Bond at the right time .

Leads I have problem with :

Anything that taunts . I can generally take the taunter down with me w/o problems , but then i also end up with no TR just to switch in Pory 2 generally .

Thats pretty much it . He is just too good .

Breloom (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Technician
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def
Brave Nature (+Atk, -Spd)
- Spore
- Mach Punch
- Bullet Seed
- Swords Dance

Now this is a pretty standard Sword Dance built . TR allows for fast sporing and I can use bullet seed 1st . But even after TR is gone , i have the availability of mach punch .

I used to have Roobushin here b4 , but i found the need for a Sub-breaker . This guy can can do that and a LOT more . +2/4 Mach Punch kills most things or atleast damages them enough for a quick kill later on .
If this guy gets going , there is no stopping him especially if the other team lacks a ghost pokemon .

Rankurusu_by_Kikariz.jpg

Rankurusu (F) @ Focus Sash
Trait: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SAtk / 4 SDef
Quiet Nature (+SAtk, -Spd)
- Shadow Ball
- Energy Ball
- Trick Room
- Psycho Shock

Another Pokemon to use Trick Room with . Magic guard + Focus Sash = unstoppable TR [atleast if my opponent uses only a single hitting skill] . Now I can't stress how much i owe this guy for setting up a TR when otherwise i'd have been swept .
His very high Sp.Atk is another bonus and since most ppl expect him to have focus blast and switch in there bulky waters , they are in for a treat [I generally take down atleast one guy after TR has been set up]

Pokedex_395___Empoleon_FR_by_Pokemon_FR.jpg

Empoleon (M) @ Balloon
Trait: Torrent
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SAtk / 4 SDef
Quiet Nature (+SAtk, -Spd)
- Ice Beam
- Grass Knot
- Hidden Power - Fire

- Surf

Well , to be honest , I dont like having him . He isn't as usefull as the rest . I wanted a better water pokemon . Anyways , while there are better pokemon , I really needed a Sp.Atk sweeper . He is the only one slow engh for a TR built supporting OK restances and mostly a water and ice move . My best Gliscor Killer . It also supports a good resistance to outrage being a steel type .

I switched him in for a rapid spinning Cloyster [I really liked Cloy but i needed something that could use Sp.Attacks]
Grass Knot is another grass type move to kill that water + ground stuff , Ice beam for grass pokemon surf for a lotta things and and HP-fire for Scizor .

porygon2.png

Porygon2 @ Evolution Stone
Trait: Trace
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Def / 252 SDef
Relaxed Nature (+Def, -Spd)
- Trick Room
- Tri Attack
- Recover
- Swagger

Wait another Evo Stone ?? Dude u will be raped by trick users . Well I would but , most ppl do not expect another Evo Stone user and hence don't really save their trick users . With recover and massive defense , its a very very good tank that can cast TR when i need it . Its ability Trace makes it so much better seeing as how many ppl like to use pokemon with abilities like water absorb . Perfect counter Buruneru [as a tank , not for attacking mind you] . I used to use a Buruneru here b4 , but Pory has better defense and can take act as a shield for Enuboo as like i said most water pokemon out there are using water absorb ability .
Tri Attack isnt just for killing things at 15% hp . Its a very strong attack which can cause freez/burn/paralysis ailment at a good enough rate .
Swagger is just gr8 for handling opponent Sp.Attackers and sometimes even Atk sweepers. +2 to their attack power makes confusion do serious damage . A single swagger can cause a confused garchomp to lose over 60% health and Tri-Attack generally takes out 40%-50% hp off of my opponent .

enbuoh_pokabu__s_last_evolution_by_ramy1907-d3143f6.png

Enbuoo (M) @ Balloon
Trait: Reckless
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def
Brave Nature (+Atk, -Spd)
- Hammer Arm
- Wild bolt
- Flare Blitz
- Earthquake

This guy is my main sweeper . With Reckless ability , Flare Blitz and Wild Bolt are giving a good bonus . Wild bolt also tends to take my opponent my surprise . Earthquake is good for handling other fire pokemon while Hammer Arm gives my good dmaage while reducing (increasing while in TR) my speed by 1 stage part from that , its stabbed .

=========================

To be clear , I love my team . Its rare that i see that when i lose i lost coz of my team . Its got good coverage and has a lotta ppl quitting .

=========================

Anyways , there are always some pokemon/strtegies that bug you a lot .
1.Staraptor :
Spr_5b_398_f.png

Now with Close combat and Brave bird , he can kill all of my sweepers. Yes , I can kill it , but it requires TR to be up . With a good chance of Dusclops being dead by then , I am either relying on Ranurusuku or my TR being up already since even my Porygon 2 wont be able to take Close Combat especially if I switch it into one . If this guy comes up , I m generally looking at atleast 1 pokemon dying .

2. Spikes : With no Rapid spinners , I m looking at high damage from Stealth Rock aspecially . I tend to wave out Spikes and toxic spikes coz 2 of my pokemon are using a baloon .

3. Gyrados :
Spr_4d_130_f_s.png

Now this guy can be killed by a good number of my pokemon , but I lack any good means to completely block him out

4. Gliscor :
Spr_5b_472.png

Except Empoleon , I lack any means to kill this guy with direct attacks .

=====================

Pokemon I m thinking to include in my team :

1. Roobushin :
Spr_5b_534.png

I loved this guy but due to requirment for more coverage I let him go . I really loved the fact he could take on sleep users because of being burned .

2. Cloyster :
Spr_4d_091_s.png

I loved him as well but needing a Sp.Atker made me end up kicking him from the team , I really wish I had more space for him .

=======================

Thats pretty much it . Would love any coments , constructive criticism etc etc .

Thanx for reading and/or replying

You could replace Empoleon with Slowbro or Slowking, and they could run Trick Room, Specs, or Calm Mind and Nasty Plot respectively. Cloyster is not good for your team as Shell Smash opposes Trick Room, and Shell Smash is what Cloyster is used for.
For Renniculus you must replace Energy Ball as it is extremely redundant and it cannot hit any threats, with Recover or Calm Mind to make use of its Bulk. Replace Focus Sash with Life Orb as Focus Sash is useless in late game where your Renniculus shines. For Dusclops run Will-o-Wisp in place of Destiny Bond.
Dusclops is too slow to utilise Destiny Bond, especially when TR is not up, and you would not want to sacrifice Dusclops. If you opt to run WoW, you can, and should, shift the investment on Def to Hp.
For Porygon2, run Discharge and Ice Beam in place of Swagger and Tri Attack, as both are useless and can potentially cause your downfall, whereas BoltBeam counters the offensive threats of the metagame i.e Gyarados, Salamence. Use the spread of 252 HP / 184 Def / 72 SpD or 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD, and you can opt for another Calm Mind set.
I strongly recommend you replace Emboar with Scizor or Escalivier, as the both majorly outclass Emboar, and although it lacks in coverage, the Steels they fail again are set up fodder for your team. Sorry for the jumbled up format, hope I helped!

you should change porygons tri attack to t-bolt and ice beam. You can just ice beam garchomp and t-bolt gyarados who p2 counters.

Your sets on some pokemon are just wierd. Evo Stone holders should have max HP because they already have big defences and if you want to make your Dusknoir a special wall you should rather transfer those def EV's into HP.

Your Rankurusu (or Reuniclus) has Focus Sash and Energy Ball whats the point of that. He is nowhere near as frail as Alakazam so Focus Sash + Magic Guard combination is nearly useless on him as only few pokemon will OHKO Rankurusu. Replace sash with Life Orb which won't give you any recoil. If you run Focus Blast instead of Energy Ball it gives you perfect coverage so i don't understand why you don't.

On Porygon 2 run Ice Beam and Thunderbolt over Swagger and Tri Attack.

On Enboah you should probably go with Head Smash over EQ. It has 150 BP and it's a rock move that benefits from Reckless. The downsides are 80 accuracy and huge recoil but I still think it's worth it because rock gives good coverage.

Good luck with your team!

stall teams gonna trouble you a lot ..with entry hazard and your sweepers killing themselves with recoil ..only rankurusu could stand up to them but he lacks recover so well ...

replace energy ball on ranku's set with focus blast ..trick room as they switch on tyranitar then you can ohko him ^^

may i suggest that you make your porygon more offensive so that he can benefits from trick room with a spread of 252hp/252spatk with a quiet nature and evo stone , the move set i use is ( ice beam/thunderbolt/HPfire/trick room) .. yeah because scizor and nattorei just love switchin on it ..

Like someone said replace empoleon with slowbro .. the set i'd use personnaly is ( trick room/surf /flamethrower/ice beam ) with a spread of 252hp/252 spatk and a quiet nature as usual with a life orb ..regeneration is amazing and heal you from the recoil and hazards ..so no need for slack off ...

that would make your momentum continuous without those switch that just waste your turns and gives your opponent the chances to predict your moves ..

oh and you need entry hazard (SR at least ) as a lot of players keep switching on your obvious moves to stall out trick room turns ... or you can give one of your sweepers substitute ^^ ..

good luck with your team .. ^^
