Generic RMT <.<

I've been using this team in OU [obviously] and it's been doing me pretty good, though sometimes weird things happen and I lose.. I'd like it if someone could point out the huge weak points.

In depth:

hippowdon.png

Hippowdon@Leftovers
252 HP/168 DEF/88 Sp. DEF
Impish Nature
-Stealth Rock
-Slack Off
-Roar
-Earthquake

Hippowdon takes the main point of my team [residual damage combined with big hits and walls when I absolutely need to] and makes it so much easier to accomplish. Sand Stream gives me residual damage obviously to everything that isn’t rock/steel/ground, which would already neutralize Leftovers on some of the more defensive Pokemon not having one of these types. Where it really helps is in phasing the other team and potentially dealing lots of damage. Hell, I had a situation where I completely took out a Gyarados and Weavile using one EQ and nothing but Roars after that. I don’t really like having Slack Off in my playstyle [at least with Hippowdon], so if you have any suggestions for another move that could go there, I’d be grateful.

scizor.png

Scizor@Choice Band
248 HP/252 ATK/8 DEF
Adamant Nature [Technician]
-U-Turn
-Bullet Punch
-Pursuit
-Brick Break

Aaand the inevitable Scizor. As much as I love this set for its offensive prowess, I love it even more for the little things it does behind that. The priority in Bullet Punch, U-Turn’s switching, Pursuit’s switching bonus, Brick Break’s screen breaking… Oh yeah, and they all do good damage too. There are a couple other things I love; avoiding damage from the Sandstorm, and how much power that Bullet Punch packs. It easily 2HKOs on neutral hits, sometimes even on not very effectives. I also love the way it draws out fires so I can just U-Turn Kingdra in. Also, is there any way I can give him the same power boost of CB without using Swords Dance? That’s the one thing I feel I need to fix.

jolteon.png

Jolteon@Choice Specs
252 Sp. ATK/252 SPD/4 DEF
Timid Nature
-Thunderbolt
-HP Ice
-Shadow Ball
-Signal Beam

Jolteon has saved me in so many different situations. Even with its Choice Specs, I’ve managed to take down many Pokemon that have taken some damage from all the residual damge this team causes. When Pokemon are coming in at 60-70% damage and maybe even paralyzed, everything just becomes cannon fodder for this guy. Jolteon is basically my primary sweeper, the one I use when I just need to get a strong hit in (unless I NEED to go first, then Scizor takes care of it). Again, I’m not a huge fan of Choice items, so if there are any other items that function just as good, I’d be glad to hear about them.

porygon2.png

Porygon2@Leftovers
252 HP/216 DEF/40 Sp. DEF
Bold Nature [Trace]
-Ice Beam
-Thunderbolt
-Recover
-Thunder Wave

When I first found out Porygon2 was competitively usable, I had to see what all the rage was about. I decided to try him on this team, and I’m not regretting a bit of it. The defensive prowess of being able to take on Gyarados, Salamence, and Heatran is unmatchable. The paralysis is another bright point, as it makes it so much easier for my other threats to sweep, and even set Porygon2 up for the very occasional surprise sweep. I like to be able to heal so much more on Porygon2 due to the fact that I can rely on paralysis to give me at least one turn to get a heal in. The lefties neutralizing Sandstream also helps, as I don’t have to worry about Recovering every so often.

dusknoir.png

Dusknoir@Leftovers
252 HP/28 ATK/228 DEF
Impish Nature
-WoW
-Pain Split
-Fire Punch
-Earthquake

The combination of Hippowdon with Will O Wisp is just great. Not only do they take damage as they come in (not to mention at least 6% most of the time), but it allows me to do damage past the negation of sand with Lefties. Surprise Earthquakes and Fire Punches are really nice, too. Unless I make a blatantly obvious switch into a grass or fire type, I should be able to get a surprise KO or two in with this guy. I’ve been thinking about putting some EVs into special defense, too, as Will O Wisp effectively doubles Dusknoir’s defense.

kingdra.png

Kingdra@Life Orb
252 ATK/252 SPD/6 HP
-Dragon Dance
-Outrage
-Waterfall
-Yawn

I’ve been thinking about getting rid of Kingdra, since I don’t use him too much and I really don’t like Outrage, but I love his typing. The whole Yawn thing is useful, but I think I’m going to look in a different direction. I’d like to hear some suggestions, though I’m leaning towards something that can set up Spikes as well as Rapid Spin; the more residual damage, the better.

The Main Focus
The whole point of this team is to get in residual damage in as many forms as possible to let my sweepers and tanks to score very simple KOs on Pokemon that have been weakened a good amount, to the point that neutral hits will KO a lot of the time. Of course, this team has not reached its full potential, since I don’t have Spikes in here. Basically, just set up with Heatran, burn with Noir, and defend until the late game, then bring out Jolteon and Scizor.

Yep, kinda generic.. I'd like any problems to be diagnosed, though.

Um try this Kingdra:

Kingdra (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Sniper
EVs: 251 HP/68 Def/12 Spd/179 SDef
Careful nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Rest
- Sleep Talk
- Outrage
- Waterfall

I forget what these EV's are for, but this is more of a defensive Kingdra, a bulky sweeper if you must. While asleep, outrage doesn't lock you in, and it takes a lot to kill this thing. One weakness helps a lot, plus x4 resistances to Fire and Water, plus a resistance to Steel, you get a lot of chances to switch in an hit something.

another thing i see, since your team switches a lot (i'm assuming) and you only have two SS resists, change your hippo to a lead scarmory. I run:

Skarmory (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Keen Eye
EVs: 252 HP/242 Def/16 Spd
Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Whirlwind
- Spikes
- Stealth Rock/Drill Peck
- Roost

Lead Meta lets you get up spikes, explosion does ~45%, go straight to Kingdra if you expect a fire attack, good synergy with jolteon too. when bliss comes to wall your jolt, go right to skarm to lay out spikes.

Thanks very much for the suggestions. I'm going to try both this and a team with Spiritomb and Togekiss replacing Noir and Kingdra, and whichever works better, I'll be updating as such.

You might want to use SuperPower over Brick Break on Scizor. Scizor is more of a hit and run Pokemon and Superpower allows Scizor to hit Pokemon such as Magnezone and Heatran harder than Brick Break. The Attack and Defense drop from Superpower is not a worry as Scizor will find itself switching out often.

This is a very minor suggestion, however, use those 8 EVs on Scizor onto Speed rather than Defense. The 8 Speed Evs will allow Scizor to outspeed Defensive Vaporeon, who sometimes run 68 Speed Evs, making it reach 183. You will outspeed said Vaporeon by 1 point, allowing you to potentially beat it with U-turn before it does around 40% to you with Surf. It might seem like a small detail, however, those 8 Speed EVs are better of in Speed.

On Jolteon, I would use Hidden Power Grass over Hidden Power Ice. You have Porygon-2 Ice Beam and Scizor's Bullet Punch for Salamence. You can also handle Flygon and Dragonite quite well too. You have more trouble dealing with Swampert, so Hidden Power Grass on Jolteon will allow you to grab that KO on said Swampert. Because Thunderbolt already takes a large chunk of HP away from Salamence, Hidden Power Grass is suggested.

I suggest you use Rotom-h over Dusknoir. Rotom's Electric typing with Levitate gives it a advantage over Dusknoir, since it can effectively counter Scizor, Metagross, Scarf Jirachi, Electivire, all of which give Dusknoir a difficult time. What else does Rotom have over Dusknoir? Rotom is faster, has the ability to utilize more powerful attacking moves, has better typing, is immune to Spikes and Toxic Spikes unlike Dusknoir, allowing Rotom to survive more, can one or two-hit KO every Rapid Spinner in OU such as Starmie, Forry, Tentacruel, etc, has a better attacking movepool, and has more available status options. For your team, I would suggest you use Will-O-Wisp, Overheat, ThunderBolt, Shadow Ball, 252 HP / 68 Def / 188 Spe, Timid Nature, Leftovers. Most Rotom should carry either WoW or Reflect for Tyranitar. Rotom actually works as a great lure for Tyranitar, burning it as it comes in and meaning it is a lot easier for it to take it on. Tyranitar is loathe to Pursuit once it has been burned in case you stay in and it does laughable damage, so once you have crippled it with a Burn, you can safely go to a Crunch resist. ThunderBolt is over Discharge because the increased power boost from Discharge to Thunderbolt helps to offset the loss of SpA EVs, and means you can still do decent damage to Water-types. Also, there is nothing more infuriating than accidentally paralysing a Tyranitar with Discharge, and it Pursuiting you to death because you couldn't burn it. Even with no SpA EVs, Overheat will get the KOs on Lucario and Scizor, so you don't need to worry there. The Evs are a little different. The 188 Speed Evs allow Rotom-h to outspeed Adamant Lucario by one point. Adamant Lucario reaches 279 Speed while this Rotom-h reaches 280, allowing you to KO with Overheat before it hits you with Crunch. You could also Choice Scarf Rotom if you want the extra Speed to revenge kill more threats.

You are a lot of weak to the Mixed Sweeper, Calm Mind Latias with Hidden Power Fire you from many problems. To avoid to see your completely walled Kingdra from a physical wall (example Skarmory) I would give Hydro Pump on Yawn to Kingdra. I would change Dusknoir with a Weezing, Lucario after a Sword Dance it destroys you the whole team.

Alright, adding Skarm and changing Kingdra did not work out very well. I'm going to put Hippowdon back in, and I'd like to take suggestions for replacements for Kingdra. I'm looking for another big offensive [preferably mixed] threat, or if not, probably a special defender.
