[Overview]

Genesect has the advantage of being a Bug- and Steel-typing, thus limiting it to one weakness. It also has the benefit of being able to threaten Xerneas with Iron Head while also dealing with Zarude. It can also bring out teammates in the field in favorable situations with U-turn. Genesect's only drawback is it's lack of fire power. It has tons of attack and special attack but it can easily walled top tier pokemon of Ubers, Necrozma-DM. Genesect has very little defensive synergy and not much offensive presence in the tier. Now that Ho-oh has received heavy-duty-boots, it's making genesect's life in ubers tough as well.

[SET COMMENTS]
U-turn is STAB and for maintaining momentum.Choice scarf to get a jump on Fast Pokemon such as calyrex-shadow, Darmanitan galar even with scarf. Ice beam for the plenty dragons of the tier and due to scarf can even kill +1 speed rayquaza and zygarde. Explosion to completely nuke certain Pokémon leading to chip / KO which allows certain Pokémon like calyrex shadow to clean up later in the game.
Potential team mates--->
Zygarde: Offensive zygarde with dragon dance/ coil + scale shot could really help out genesect against necrozma-DM who walls him. Zygarde can also help against Eternatus, but only after a few dragon dances.
Necrozma-DM: necrozma-DM itself can also be a solid team mate for genesect and genesect can get it in the field easily with u-turn in favourable match ups. These three can give immense offensive pressure to opponent.
darmanitan-galar: Genesect can also be paired with scarf darmanitan galar for u-turn core and it can force eternatus out. Do keep in mind that you'll have to have a counter for ho-oh as it threatens both of these a lot.

Defensive zygarde: it can help out against Ho-oh with rest to remove burns. It can also check steel types coming in way of genesect.
Eternatus: Eternatus can take on bulky waters which give hard time to genesect. It can also OHKO Ho-oh with meteor beam if you go the offensive way.

Kyogre: It resists fire types and steel types against which genesect tends to struggle. Kyogre can also take advantage of u-turn from genesect to come out it favourable match ups and deal heavy damage with water spout/ origin pulse.

Shift gear: it's a niche option to late game clean, the set being similar as iron head, ice beam, shift gear and u-turn.
Shadow claw: after +1 attack from download, this can threaten necrozma-DM and obviously OHKO shadow Rex.


Checks and Counters

**Steel types**: As they tend to be bulky and genesect is incapable of easily breaking through them. The tier's premier Steel type, Necrozma-DM checks genesect as well.

**Fire coverage**: This one's pretty obvious. Gensect's only yet quad weakness has it's disadvantages as fire coverage is not rare. Eternatus with flamethrower/mystical fire, Ho-oh with sacred fire and Rayquaza with v-create.


**Bulky Water-types**: Toxapex completely walls Genesect always, and defensive Kyogre is super hard for it to break with Rest. Kyogre with block can be difficult to take down too.

**Other bulky Pokemon**: Other mons such as lugia, defensive lunala who can tank hits from genesect stop it from doing anything reasonable in the battle.

Shift Gear is an OO mention most likely, with it having very little merit overall as a sweeper when compared to most top HO mons but still possibly deserving a mention, just isn't good enough to be the only set featured. This is a large change for the whole analysis so when this change is implemented I'll have another look at the content

(This is really overselling it, Genesect is fairly bad overall with its main niche being just Choice Scarf. I'd reword this to highlight it as speed control but keep its downsides a bit more clear since it's far from excellent usually)

Explosion to completely nuke certain Pokémon leading to chip / KO which allows certain Pokémon like Zacian and calyrex shadow to clean up later in the game (Move explosion to the end of the paragraph to represent the set order change, and also talk about what flamethrower does). Choice scarf to get a jump on fast and non-scarf Pokémon (notable examples should be here). Ice beam for the plenty dragons of the tier (Mention its revenge killing abilities on said dragons, like +1 Rayquaza, Zygarde, etc.). U-turn is STAB and for maintaining momentum. (Move U-turn to beginning of the paragraph to represent the set order change, and Iron head is the next move which needs a mention for revenge killing fairies, Ice-types, etc.)

Defensive partners to Genesect should also be mentioned, talk about Zygarde's defensive capabilities against Ho-Oh and mention things like Eternatus and Kyogre for fire / steel resists which are the main types it can't break

**Ho-Oh**: Even though Fire coverage is its own category, I think Ho-Oh should still get its own mention. It's essentially the hardest counter to Genesect, healing off everything with regen and not losing to Explosion

**Fire coverage**: This one's pretty obvious. Gensect's only yet quad weakness has it's disadvantages as fire coverage is not rare. Eternatus with flamethrower/mystical fire, Ho-oh with sacred fire and Rayquaza with v-create.

**Bulky Water-types**: Toxapex completely walls Genesect always, and defensive Kyogre is super hard for it to break with Rest.

Merge these sentences as they are both fragments talking about U-turn.

In the first paragraph of set comments begin by talking about Choice Scarf.

The whole "Potential Teammates" part need to be written as a paragraph (the second paragraph of set details).

In general, you need to review the analyses standards. Also look at other Ubers analyses in GP stage to get an idea of how the analysis is supposed to read.

Hi, locking and archiving this after discussing with other QC members. The checks are incredibly outdated with the first coming from the Zacian meta, and there's been no work done in almost 2 months, with the quality for the current meta not being up to par. As Minority suggested, I would recommend checking out the spelling and grammar standards as well as some other analysis in progress for formatting if you wish to continue writing which I hope you do in the future
