Gengar OU (Balanced team)

Hey guys! Long time pokemon player, although there's just one thing. I've never really made my own team before.. until NOW! Up until this point I've been too lazy to really put a proper team together (I usually steal teams off of RMT's to fool around with).

I was hoping to get some feedback on my team.. obviously it's going to have flaws and I need y'all to point me in the right direction.

So far I've been using this team on the OU ladder and I peaked at 1619, although I have regressed since then.

And without further adieu..

GENGAR (My Favorite poke) w/ Life Orb
Nature: Timid
Ability: Levitate
Evs: 4 hp / 252 sp atk / 252 spd

Moveset:
Shadow Ball
Sludge Wave
Focus Blast
Destiny Bond

I've wanted to find a Gengar set that could fully utilize Destiny Bond. At first I had a sashed gengar that was able to get a hit off guaranteed, live, and then D-bond on the following turn. Unfortunately I found that many experienced players anticipated my d-bond after seeing the sash and it didn't prove to be overly effective. Instead, I've chosen a life orb set for a couple of different reasons. Obviously the life orb increases gengar's damage output. Secondly, this helps me to hide the fact that I carry destiny bond and it is much easier to catch my opponent off guard with it. As long as I know I outspeed, Gengar's power allows me to do some damage before taking an opponent down with me.

Shadow ball and Sludge wave provide a strong dual stab, and focus blast rounds out coverage for mons like ferrothorn and tryanitar.

BRELOOM w/ focus sash
Nature: Jolly
Ability: Technician
Evs: 4 hp / 252 atk / 252 spd

Moveset:
Spore
Mach Punch
Bullet Seed
Rock Tomb

What can I say? This lead set is pretty common, but damn it's effective. Breloom can put in work at the start of a match if your opponent isn't prepared. The focus sash guarantees I can get off a spore (barring any enemy grass types) and from there breloom can rack up great damage on other mons before fainting. My lack of spin / defog does hinder it from coming back in when it gets knocked down to it's sash, but with decent prediction and strategy breloom is usually good for a kill or two per match for me.

This is the standard moveset for technition loom, and there's a good reason for it. Rock tomb catches a surprising amount of talonflame off guard and bullet seed puts a serious dent in anything that doesn't resist. Mach punch is great for priority against pokemon that would otherwise take me down.

LANDORUS-T w/ leftovers
Nature: Adamant
Ability: Intimidate
Evs: 252 hp / 242atk / 16 spd

Moveset:
Stealth Rock
U-Turn
Knock Off
Earthquake

My stealth rocker and spammer of knock off! Landorus is a great pokemon and it is a great pivot switch. I was running a speedier set up until now, but I've recently changed to the bulky sweeper set because i felt that increasing landorus's survivability was important. Breloom, gengar and to some extent latios don't seem to stick around battles for very long (glass cannons) and in combination with wishes passed from my Sylvion, landorus can cause problems all battle long. I run the bit of speed so I can outspeed other defensive pokemon and either U-turn out or knock off their item (big help with toxic heal gliscor let me tell you).

The moveset is again standard. Stealth rocks are a must, and knock off support is essentially a must in the current meta as well. U turn provides me a chance to get switch advantage if my opponent fears knock off or EQ dealing big damage.

AGGRON w/ aggronite
Nature: Impish
Ability: Sturdy / Filter
Evs: 252 hp / 4 atk / 252 def

Moveset:
Iron Head
Rest
Sleep Talk
Curse

Aggron is my physical wall, and if he can set up he is also my most dangerous sweeper. Once all of my opponent's special attackers are removed (and strong physical fighting types like mega medicham) Aggron tears my opponents to shreads. Status is essentially useless because rest removes it, and the filter ability lets me tank nearly any physical hit.

The downside to Aggron is that clearly the offensive coverage on this set is not very good. Mons like bulky mega scizor essentially lead to a stalemate occurring. The other problem is this set does rely on a fair amount of luck because of rest talk. Even still, this set has won me countless matches and as long as I play the other members of my team correctly to eliminate my opponent's special attackers, Aggron can take care of the rest.

SYLVEON w/ leftovers
Nature: Calm
Ability: Pixilate
Evs: 252 hp / 4 sp atk / 252 spdef

Moveset:
Hyper Voice
Toxic
Wish
Protect

Sylveon is the other half of my defensive core. Along with Aggron, I have nearly perfect defensive coverage. They both resist each other's weaknesses quite nicely, and I can even take ground type moves by switching in Gengar, Latios or Landorus. The main reason I wanted Sylveon on this team is because it is one of the few pokemon who can actually check Greninja (who tears apart the rest of my team).

Sylveon is a great wish passer and toxic staller. Hyper voice is on the set as its only attacking move, but it hits surprisingly hard for having very little investment thanks to pixilate. The only problem i have with this set is that I don't have any room for heal bell. I have considered putting it on instead of hyper voice, but in the end I found having an offensive move to be too important.

LATIOS w/ Choice Scarf
Nature: Timid
Ability: Levitate
Evs: 4 hp / 252 sp atk / 252 spd

Moveset:
Draco Meteor
Psyshock
HP Fire
Trick

My revenge killer. Latios is a powerul threat with a scarf. Once i take out anything that resists draco meteor, Latios can go to town and have fun spamming it.

I've had a bit of trouble with a moveset on Latios. I have Hp fire to take out ferrothorn that would otherwise switch in and get rocks up for free. Draco and psyshock are a strong dual stab combo and trick allows me to cripple enemy walls. I have thought about swapping HP fire for something like surf or thunderbolt but I think certain things will wall latios no matter which move I stick in the 3rd Slot.

And there we have it! Please help me with any improvements you feel will help my team become better. I'm open to constructive criticism, and this team is definitely a work in progress. I feel like it's pretty fun to use though and I'm going to continue to make it the best it can be!
