DETAILED_ANALYSIS
Annulus (Accelgor) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Unburden
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Spikes
- Final Gambit
- Encore
- Bug Buzz
Accelgor stands as a speedy Suicide Spikes lead that can do good damage to any switch-ins and helps the sweepers in the team. Final Gambit keeps Pokemon with Rapid Spin or Defog from removing any Spikes from the field. Encore can be used to prevent any setups sweepers from using other moves, and can also be used to bait setups by encouraging boosts before using Final Gambit. Bug buzz can do standard chip damage if health is too low.
Indalo (Mawile) @ Liechi Berry
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Spe
Impish Nature
- Swords Dance
- Baton Pass
- Stealth Rock
- Play Rough
Mawile is the butter for the bread in the team, and suggested as such by SlaySlenderDragon XD, utilizing its Swords Dance to raise it's attack, then Baton Pass it to any one of the sweepers. Stealth rock allows an extra bit of damage if the opponents Pokemon is trying to set up. Play Rough is used as a cover move if damage is needed, or to counter anything with a Fairy weakness.
Tangential (Flygon) @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Flamethrower
- Earth Power
- Defog
- U-turn
Flygon doubles as both a All Out Attacker that can take care of the steel type weakness in the team, and as a Defogger to take care of any Spikes or Stealth Rocks before Accelgor sets up. Flamethrower is useful for any steel types, likes Bronzong or Mega-Steelix, which was suggested by SlaySlenderDragon XD instead of Draco Meteor. Earth Power takes care of anything bulkier on the field, doing more damage when needed. Defog is used early, when predicted Spikes or Stealth Rocks are set up. U-turn gives a quick pivot to other Pokemon when Flygon isn't useful on the field anymore.
Dodecagon (Tyrantrum) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Rock Head
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Head Smash
- Outrage
- Dragon Claw
- Superpower
Tyrantrum is one of the two Baton Pass Receivers in the team, able to sweep with a Choice Scarf setup. Head Smash massive rock type damage to any opponent on the field. Outrage is a powerful sweeping move, but comes at the cost of no switch outs and confusion. Dragon Claw gives another option at a dragon type move without locking into Tryrantrum. Superpower is another type covering move, and gives a nice punch to any unsuspecting opponent.
Axis (Abomasnow-Mega) @ Abomasite
Ability: Soundproof
EVs: 44 HP / 252 Atk / 212 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Seed Bomb
- Ice Shard
- Earthquake
Abomasnow-Mega is the second Baton Pass Receiver on the team, and is another very powerful Sweeper. Swords Dance gives it a move to boost its attack if it does not receive a Baton Pass. Seed Bomb puts some type coverage damage on the
opponent. Ice Shard is fantastic STAB damage along with being mostly priority, giving Abomasnow-Mega the upper hand. Earthquake does powerful ground damage, again giving type coverage to his attacks.
Lozenge (Jolteon) @ Life Orb
Ability: Volt Absorb
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Signal Beam
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Volt Switch
Jolteon stands as a great Revenge Killer, with high speed that isn't locked into a Choice Scarf like Manectric. Thunderbolt gives good and quick STAB damage. Signal Beam is a type cover move that gives nice and easy damage to any dark or psychic type threats. Hidden Power [Ice] covers Jolteon's weaknesses. Volt Switch is good STAB damage to the opponent that also allows a quick switch-out to avoid any damage taken.
IMPORTABLE
Being a new trainer, I'm learning new things CONSTANTLY about competitive Pokemon. After a friend and assumed well-known competitor SlaySlenderDragon XD introduced me to it, I spent a good amount of time working with a pretty standard RU team. After learning more about the competition in general and practicing a lot, I got some advice from him to make my own team on my own. This team is mostly my work, with some modification and/or ideas from him, which I will specify.
