Hello everyone, this is my second post on RMT, but this time I am confident in my team :) The core of this team formed when I grew tired of looking at the same old pokemon used in both VGC and OU... cough cough garchomp, ttar, etc. I also loved the look of blastoise, being one of my fav pokemon. Anyway, here is the team. Please make suggestions!
Blastoise @ Blastoisinite
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 164 HP / 252 SpA / 92 SpD
Modest Nature
- Aura Sphere
- Dark Pulse
- Water Pulse
- Dragon Pulse
love the blastoise, i decided to run a pulse/ sphere set on this bad boy, and it has paid off a lot! It has a good moveset to hit a couple pokes that trouble the team... Sableye. I decided not to invest all of my evs in just SpA and HP, but balance to HP and SpD out. This pays off because the majority of super effective moves on water types are special.
Excadrill @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Mold Breaker
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Rock Slide
- X-Scissor
- Brick Break
This is a different set that I prefer to the usual air balloon excadrill. This is fun to use because it outspeeds a lot of threats usually OHKO's them. Fun times.
Talonflame @ Life Orb
Ability: Gale Wings
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- U-turn
- Flare Blitz
- Brave Bird
- Roost
Pretty standard. I needed a good core with the blastoise and this stood out. WAYY OU but is needed because of the U-Turn and STABS. Didn't want to use it, but was the sensible option.
Ferrothorn @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 176 Def / 76 SpD
Sassy Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Gyro Ball
- Toxic
- Leech Seed
- Protect
Another OU pokemon, but is still needed. Good wall to stall out some stupid sweepers. I am still considering adding power whip, for there is a lack of water type killing moves.
Mandibuzz (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Overcoat
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def
Impish Nature
- Knock Off
- Defog
- Toxic
- Roost
Probably one of my fav pokes, great wall with a good movepool. I like the fact that it can stay in and roost. The Toxic helps to make pokes switch out, and the defog it helpful.
Carbink @ Lum Berry
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Rest
- Sleep Talk
- Moonblast
- Stealth Rock
I needed a pokemon that could stealth rock, so I originally used Azelf. But I didn't like the fact that it couldn't touch a sableye. I also liked the look of carbink so I used it. I still am not quite sure what item to use on it since the mandibuzz is using the leftovers :/
Please give feedback!
