Getting back into battling

Well, I'm not too good on team building, but I tried to make something that wasn't totally wiped out by a single threat (Or at least not as many as my usual teams...). Here we go:

dpfba428.png

Lopunny (F) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Klutz
EVs: 252 HP/252 Spd/6 SDef
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Switcheroo
- Magic Coat
- Toxic
- Healing Wish

Honestly, I love leading with this. I was thinking of a good not-as-common way to stop those fast SRers (And Bronzong). Switcheroo-ing a choice item as they lay Stealth Rocks or Taunt is fun, forcing them to switch out. Magic Coat messes up Bronzong Hypnosis' and Toxic is just there to deal some form of damage. I've only had to use Healing Wish once, and it won me the battle (Awesome). Some difficulties with Abomasnow because I don't want to give him a fast Blizzard, so I usually Toxic and stall out with something else.

dpmba149.png

Dragonite (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Inner Focus
EVs: 30 HP/112 Atk/116 Spd/252 SAtk
Mild nature (+SAtk, -Def)
- Fire Blast
- Focus Punch
- Thunderbolt
- Draco Meteor

MixNite is awesome (Can't wait for Superpower D:)! Nobody really knows how to handle it, because they always think it is DDNite. Haha, see ya later Skarmory, Gliscor, Hippowdon, [insert physical wall here]. Lopunny sets him up if she can choice a Ground move, or something Dragonite resists (SR isn't too bad, but bye-bye 25%). Focus Punch then batters up Blissey trying to 'wall'. Usually gets 1-2 kills per fight.

---

dpmba442.png

Spiritomb (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP/140 Atk/118 SDef
Careful nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Sucker Punch
- Will-o-wisp
- Pain Split
- Pursuit

He is pretty awesome. General Psychic killer, and softens up physical units with WoW. Not much else to say... He provides cool resists, and awesome revenging.

---

dpmba468.png

Togekiss (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 HP/106 Spd/152 SAtk
Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Wish
- Nasty Plot
- Air Slash
- Aura Sphere

I never thought Nasty Plot Togekiss was that good, as I usually used FlinchHax... But damn, it's awesome. Togekiss isn't too difficult to get in, and if I can scare something off or get Blissey in = +2 SpA. Blissey Ice Beams, I just Nasty Plot and it is all over. Analysis is right, a lot of teams are not prepared to be massacred by this. Added Wish > Roost to get some team support, because Dragonite and Jirachi could really use it.

---

dpmba385.png

Jirachi @ Leftovers
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 88 HP/164 Atk/160 Def/98 SAtk
Quiet nature (+SAtk, -Spd)
- Body Slam
- Thunderbolt
- U-turn
- Ice Punch

Jirachi is awesome. Spreading around some paralysis, and generally being a annoying. Ice Punch hurts Dragons and random birds, where as Thunderbolt puts the hurt on Gyarados. U-turn is a wonderful move on Jirachi, letting it take a hit after spreading paralysis to Dragonite or Togekiss. Wonderful~
I kinda want to add Wish somewhere, to increase it's survivability, but don't know where. (Or even Stealth Rock). >:

---

dpmba472.png

Gliscor (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Sand Veil
EVs: 252 HP/6 Atk/252 Def
Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Aerial Ace
- Earthquake
- Roost
- Stealth Rock / Taunt

Great physical wall. I love Gliscor and always use it. Now without Garchomp, I don't prioritize Ice Fang and instead go for Aerial Ace for Heracross and Breloom. Fairly standard. I figure Jirachi can handle DDMence / Nite with Ice Punch so no need for Ice Fang. Taunt would be cool to use, but would like to somehow impliment SR somewhere else then.

It's probably not perfect, so that is why I am posting here! Something I've considered is adding Starmie for Rapid Spin but don't know where. Or just any other Rapid Spin actually... (Maybe Donphan over Gliscor </3?)

*Anticipates being shreaded by Tangerine*

EDIT: Oh and, if anything is misspelled or some words don't make sense / my sentence looks backwards - SORRY. I have this problem of making my keyboarding typing look like a foreigner's. :/

Man I swear you guys are doing this on purpose.

Here's the problem with this team. It doesn't do much. Offensive teams maul you, Stall teams laugh at you if you don't get Togekiss up and running ASAP (and they lack Blissey/Zapdos).

Don't believe me? Here's a list of thing that Maul your team.

Gyarados Salamence Suicune Raikou Sub/Hyp Gengar Dragonite Heatran Mamoswine CM Jirachi Zapdos

In the mean while, this team professes to set up a Togekiss sweep but does nothing to really help Togekiss sweep, considering Blissey walls the entire team and Zapdos is capable of sitting around looking pretty without being threatened much. I dont know why Togekiss is Wishing when Jirachi is a much better wisher - and I don't know how Jirachi is supposed to take down all those threats you mentioned with your attacks considering Jirachi wont nail any of them unless they decide its a good idea to switch into Jirachi, and even then Bulky Mence and Nite can take an Ice Punch with ease.

The thing with the Lopunny lead is that - sure it stops some leads. "So what", is my big question considering Lopunny does absolutely nothing for your team strategy except MAYBE stop SR from going up.

Lurk around the board more- I really recommend just taking a team from a popular user that posted their teams relatively recently - or signing up for the tutoring Program. Play a bit more, because I really don't think you should be attempting teams without a better understanding how the game works.

Well, I can't really deny any of that I guess. Probably should join the tutor program sometime, when I have time.

Thanks for the input, you pretty much said anything 5 other people would. I'll take your advice.

Could you lock this then? Pretty much finished topic.

WOW what a way to just shoot something down. And reeeaaalll Nice recommending they just take someone else's team. Because, who really want to be original and try their own thing. I mean geez. You didn't (and usually dont) recommend 1 single thing he could do to help the team work. With post like that what is the point of this forum.

I too think you're being a little harsh, Tangerine. After all, this is 'rate my team', not the player. However, I can't really disagree with your output.

You could easily have some success with your current team though, just mess around a bit and make some changes. :] Like get rid of your glancing weaknesses. Tangerine pointed out a lot, but hey, you got to start somewhere.

You're struggling a LOT against any version of Heatran. Your best answer would be either Togekiss and Dragonite, both are weak to Stealth Rock, and the latter got to rely on Fire Blast to miss or a Earth Power misclick to kill it off with Focus Punch. I would - without any hesitation - pack a reliable switch. Swampert is definitely the first Pokémon that crosses my mind. A ResTalk CurseWaterfall version is made for such offensive teams, and will allow you to counter Heatran. In addtion, you'll deal with Zapdos, Raikou and Gengar a lot better, and you got yourself another potential sweeper.

Another big worry is Gyarados. I would just try out leading with a Scarved Zapdos - like Tangerine mentioned, Lopunny isn't really a effective lead. Zapdos is a great answer to Gyarados, and in addition, you'll handle, or atleast weakend those pesky offensive Suicunes who run all over you. You should be able to handle weakend, unboosted versions of them both.
Scarved Zapdos is by far one of the most effective leads I've ever used, and I can ensure you that it's a great addition to your team. :)

I hope you'll mess around a bit longer with your team, and have fun!

How about YOU do something to help him out. At least Rag tried.

Constructively, everything I was going to say was covered by Tangerine. If you want a new team, Wishy, I suggest a nice simple offensive team. From that, you can probably build a team of your own.

You're right. This is Rate my Team, not "Build my Team". If I'm changing someone's strategy around - it's definitely "Build my Team". I only suggest changes if the person has a clear plan in mind.

Offensive Suicunes can take a TBolt after a CM and OHKO back with Ice Beam. And trust me, Suicunes have a lot of opportunities to CM against this team.

Zapdos dies if it tries switching into Stone Edges, and with SR around, isn't really switching into waterfalls either (Actually LO Waterfall has a chance to KO with SR around >_>) If it's Bulky Zapdos, it gets OHKOd by DD Stone Edge. Zapdos really isn't a "great" answer to Gyarados. (I know what you meant - but be really really careful of your wording. Zapdos no longer counters Gyarados mostly because nearly everyone uses offensive variations now)

I will refer to the rules post for htis one.

Try to solve problems "Gyarados walks all over you" is not what we're looking for. If you identify a weakness within a team, try to give a few ideas on how to fix it.
Its just not very helpful when you give post like your first one that's all I'm saying.

I also didn't critique anything. I did not have any suggestions for this particular team. So I didn't say what I thought was bad or good because I couldn't rebut with a good recommendation.

But personally I love the Lopunny lead. I often try to mix things up with a situational lead. Lopunny is fun especially when you mess up a sweeper or some sort. Another simular lead I often run is Kecleon. He's alot of fun, with snatch, and can usually get a little bit more done than Lopunny :)

Why the fuck did you even bother posting here if all you plan to do is bitch and moan about a rate done by an experienced player?

In my Opinion, try this:
For a Lead, Azelf is good to start off with. It's kinda hard to fuck up with it since the basic plan is simple: Taunt or Sr, U-Turn/Psychic or Explode in their face. There are more options for it, but this is just a general outline.
Dump Spiritomb for a Dual Screen Bronzong with Light Clay.
if you provide Calm mind and Sub to jirachi, as well as Psychic and Thunderbolt, it can effectively set up with the screens in place, and then proceed to sweep.

Having ONLY Focus punch as a physical attack on Nite is a bad idea. Try putting Sub over Thunderbolt if you plan to use this set.
