Gible @ Eviolite
Ability: Rough Skin
Level: 5
Tera Type: Dragon
EVs: 52 HP / 196 Atk / 76 Def / 180 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Scale Shot
- Earthquake
- Endure
So this is what they meant when they said "Jaws of defeat"! Gible's unique typing and solid bulk grant it setup opportunities against common Pokemon like Glimmet, Tinkatink, and non-Ice Beam Mareanie while also serving as a stopgap to offensive sweepers like Torchic and Choice Scarf Hisuian Growlithe. After a Swords Dance, Gible can even take out the likes of Mienfoo and Toedscool. Scale Shot lets Gible threaten a sweep after a Swords Dance, being faster than every unboosted Pokemon, with the added bonus of completely annihilating Weak Armor Vullaby. Endure accrues extra Rough Skin damage on contact move users like Mienfoo and Vullaby and prevents Mienfoo's Fake Out from thwarting Gible's sweep. While Gible is a nearly unstoppable force when boosted, getting a completely safe Swords Dance and Scale Shot or two is quite difficult, so Gible is often supported by Memento Stunky or dual screens Impidimp. Due to Scale Shot's drawback, Gible finds itself vulnerable to priority attacks from the likes of Stunky, Pawniard, and Timburr, so partners that can take these on like Mudbray and Mienfoo work well with Gible.
