Gigalith faces competition from other Rock-types such as Stakataka and Rhyperior due to their higher offensive stats and a better movepool. Toxic helps cripple common switch-ins such as Milotic, Gastrodon, and Zarude while wearing down offensive set up sweepers such as Nasty Plot Togekiss. Rock Blast hits Flying-types such as Noivern and Crobat, Rock Blast also threatens Fire-types such as Chandelure and Incineroar. Body Press hits Steel-types such as Cobalion and Registeel, while hitting targets such as Zarude which would otherwise wall Gigalith. Gigalith has the option to run Smooth Rock as an item, to increase sand turns for sweepers such as Lycanroc. However, when running Smooth Rock Gigalith, Gigalith becomes easily pressured by entry hazards.
