Hello everybody, I'm GRIDDO, a little known person on PS!. I have recently started battling, only near Christmas did I discover Smogon, but I have read articles, watched battles, and finally joined Pokemon Showdown. I already have 30+ teams somehow. Anyway, this is a team I recently made up. It is a gimmick/troll team that is designed to annoy the opponent until they forfeit or I win. Both of those circumstances are very common, since I have [amazingly] not lost a game with this team. Let's get to it.

Teambuilding

I decided to start off with the concept of Absol, because with his ability, super luck, the item Razor Claw, the moves night slash and psycho cut, and his base 130 attack, I can score a lot of KOs with this guy.

The concept of Level 1 Pineco with Berry Juice attracted me, and I needed hazards to score more KOs using Absol, so I chose Pineco. He is almost guaranteed SR and one layer of spikes, unless the opponent leads with a sleeper or Cinccino.

I was also attracted by the concept of Mean Look + Perish Song Murkrow, since it is a rarely-used set nowadays (no pun intended) and so not many people use it.

This is where things get interesting. Liepard is part one of my swagger core, and is specifically designed to make the opponent rage. However, my luck has been quite bad sometimes.

Part two of my swagger core. He also checks opponents that have gotten swagger boosts, like Druddigon, Aggron, Entei, etc. because of Unaware.

I needed a Cinccino counter. I needed a spinblocker. I needed more offense. I needed surprise. Dusknoir fit the bill for me.

THE TEAM

pineco.jpg

Pineco (M) @ Berry Juice
Trait: Sturdy
Level: 1
Shiny: Yes
Serious Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Spikes
- Rapid Spin
- Pain Split

As he gets knocked down to sturdy, he sets up Stealth Rocks, while the opponent watches as his HP gets back up to 100% from Berry Juice. The opponent tries again to knock him down to one HP, before receiving a layer of spikes. This beast can usually get up Rocks and one layer of spikes, or even two if the opponent decides to set up their own SR. No EVs for obvious reasons. I don't use pain split at all, but it's there for use, I guess. Toxic Spikes could be used instead of spikes?

Absol (M) @ Razor Claw
Trait: Super Luck
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Sucker Punch
- Superpower
- Night Slash
- Psycho Cut

Here he is, the main man of the team. Between his base 130 attack, Razor Claw and Super Luck boosting his crit rate enormously, and Night slash + Psycho cut being higher crit rate moves, little can stand in the way of Absol's assaults. With a little luck, even Hariyama can be OHKO'd, but I would play it safe and go into Dusknoir if I saw a Hariyama. Sucker Punch for priority and STAB, Superpower for Steels, psycho cut for fighting-types, night slash for reliable STAB, blah blah blah. I guess it's possible to fool opponents into thinking you're banded, so they bring out their Dusknoir into a Choice-locked Superpower, only to be swiftly greeted by a crit Night Slash.

Murkrow (M) @ Eviolite
Trait: Prankster
EVs: 240 HP / 16 Def / 252 SDef
Calm Nature
- Mean Look
- Perish Song
- Substitute
- Roost

He's surprising, but can't pull his weight many games. Or maybe i'm just bad at using him. Anyway, this is a PerishTrap Murkrow, which has the moves Mean Look and Perish Song for trapping, and generally being a stallbreaker. Substitute and Roost are for some longevity, though Murkrow really isn't bulky at all anyway. I have seriously considered switching him for a Misdreavus, since that is bulky and even more surprising. Suggestions?

Liepard (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Prankster
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 80 HP / 8 Def / 252 SDef / 168 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Substitute
- Foul Play
- Encore
- Swagger

This Liepard's goal is to give the opposing team some #swagger because Slowkings are boring. Not much to explain, defensive investment + speed so I can outspeed some things and kill them with Foul Play. I'm considering switching Encore for TWave, because I haven't used encore yet. It maybe useful someday though.

Quagsire_by_DrManiacal.png

Quagsire (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Unaware
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
Relaxed Nature
- Earthquake
- Scald
- Recover
- Swagger

Big boss Quagsire is here, and he's not playing games. Swagger is a move that doubles the opponent's attack stat, while making them confused. However, Quagsire has the Unaware ability, so opponents can't use +2 attacks against him. He is also a great check to, say, a +2 Aggron or Entei. Earthquake and Scald are for damage, and Scald is there instead of Waterfall because Scald has, like, a 1% chance of burning. Still, i'll take it, because it increases Quaggy's walling capabilities.

Dusknoir (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Pressure
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Substitute
- Focus Punch
- Earthquake
- Shadow Sneak

While Dusknoir isn't as threatening as Absol, he is still the MVP of more games i've played than Absol has been. This is because he has fantastic defensive synergy with the rest of my team, brilliantly countering Cinccino, who otherwise majorly threatens the rest of my team. He is surprisingly strong with max Atk investment, and fits the role of a bulky sweeper because of his high defenses and max HP investment. He is a SubPunch Dusknoir with EQ for coverage and Shadow Sneak for priority. I have been looking over this moveset, and something doesn't feel right: It feels like Focus Punch and EQ are redundant coverage. I've been wanting to put Shadow Punch on this moveset, and the elemental punches also look interesting, but I don't know what I should replace. Suggestions please.

And that's the team. Feel free to test it out here:

Seems really annoying to fight, and surprisingly effective looking for a team based around.
Recommendation- For the Sturdy strategy you might want to use Shell Bell instead because the strategy can potentially last longer, though it is more luck reliant.

Shell Bell has no reason to be used on Pineco, as it has no way to directly damage opponents (let alone enough for Shell Bell to replenish Sturdy).

The damage is Pain Split - it can be replenished that way. That's how Level One Aron works, too.

[though this is pain split as opposed to endeavour which isn't as good but w/e]
