The main game plan of this team is to set up Marowak to sweep with Glalie and Smeargle, with other strong pokemon that are bulky and hard hitting in the back to cover for most types and situations.

Glalie lead to get up as many spikes as possible. Taunt first if the opponent leads with a spikes setter such as Skarmory. Explode if all spikes are set.

Go into Smeargle, use spore if possible. Then substitute -> baton pass -> Marowak. Switch to either Salamence, Metagross or Swampert if they out speed, or there is another thing stopping spore. If the sleeping mon was killed, look for an opportunity to switch into Smeargle again and attempt spore -> setup again.
If you think you can sweep, throw in a belly drum after substituting.

Marowak with a substitute is very good, as it is able to one shot many pokemons with it's very high attack stat, without taking damage in return. In addition to this, Marowak with a substitute can use Focus Punch uninterupted for even more damage, unless the rare situation occurs where the opponent uses a multi hit move. Another great advantage of Marowak is, that it can often take one super effective move and live. It is the backbone (pun intended) of this team.

Salamence, Metagross and Swampert should cover all type thread.
