Glimmet @ Eviolite
Ability: Corrosion
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Spikes
- Power Gem
- Toxic
In a tier with very limited entry hazard removal, Glimmet corrodes NFE! Glimmet is one of the best hazard setters thanks to its access to both Stealth Rock and Spikes while having respectable bulk. Glimmet also pressures Defog users, mainly Fletchinder and Vullaby, with Power Gem and Toxic . Although Quaxwell fears poison, it can still threaten Glimmet and use Rapid Spin. Dusclops and Drakloak are thus strong teammates, deterring Rapid Spin while providing valuable utility. Hattrem is the most troublesome hazard deterrent, as it is immune to everything except Power Gem and can threaten Glimmet back with STAB Psychic-type moves. Pokemon like Tinkatuff, Scraggy, and Stunky are excellent partners, switching into and threatening Hattrem with Knock Off. Glimmet's bulk and utility let it set up hazards against defensive Pokemon such as Tinkatuff, Koffing, Ivysaur, and Dusclops. Glimmet fits perfectly on offensive teams that take full advantage of hazard pressure. Setup sweepers such as Thwackey, Monferno, and Fraxure can boost with Swords Dance and clean once their checks are sufficiently chipped. Glimmet also pairs well on dual screens teams, acting as a lead that sets hazards before Morgrem or Drakloak set up the dual screens.
