[overview]
**Draft Order**: Round 8
**Price Range**: 1 point
**Overview**: Glimmet is an underwhelming Pokemon that finds a niche with its ability to effectively set entry hazards. It works best against teams without a grounded Poison-type or hazard removal, especially since it is typically forced to be a Focus Sash lead to provide any value. While its Special Attack is high enough to deal decent damage to foes, its Speed is terrible, and it basically cannot survive any attack if its Focus Sash is broken due to its poor defensive stats.

Common Roles
========
**Entry Hazard Lead**: Focus Sash allows Glimmet a guaranteed opportunity to set Stealth Rock or Spikes along with Toxic Spikes thanks to Toxic Debris, putting immediate pressure on the opponent and enabling wallbreaking teammates. It can also KO or deal heavy damage to some opposing leads, including Iron Bundle and Meowscarada, if they do not pivot to avoid activating Toxic Debris.
Common Moves
========
**Primary STAB Moves**: Power Gem, Sludge Wave, Sludge Bomb
**Setup Moves**: Rock Polish
**Utility Moves**: Stealth Rock, Spikes, Toxic Spikes, Toxic, Protect, Memento
**Coverage**: Dazzling Gleam, Mud Shot
Niche Moves
========
**Endure**: Endure can be used to set an extra layer of Toxic Spikes or stall out an additional turn of poison damage, especially if Glimmet is weakened or not running Focus Sash. It also synergizes very well with Custap Berry, which allows Glimmet to set yet another layer of entry hazards or use Memento.
Common Items
========
**Focus Sash**: Focus Sash is a necessity on entry hazard lead sets, since Glimmet otherwise cannot survive most attacks. This allows it to get an extra layer of entry hazards up.
Niche Items
========
**Eviolite**: Eviolite allows Glimmet to survive some attacks from wallbreakers that would otherwise KO it such as Meowscarada, Ogerpon, and Chi-Yu, giving it more opportunities to set entry hazards.
**Custap Berry**: Custap Berry can be used alongside Endure to get an extra layer of entry hazards up or deal a lot of damage to a foe before fainting.
Tera
========
Do not make Glimmet a Tera Captain. It does not benefit from Terastallization in any way.
Draft Strategy
========
Glimmet is a late-draft pick for teams that needs extra entry hazard support and a cheap grounded Poison-type, although it typically is not reliable in removing Toxic Spikes regardless, since it is almost always a suicide lead.
**Ghost-types**: Ghost-types pair well with Glimmet to keep its entry hazards up against Rapid Spin users. Gholdengo works especially well, since it also blocks Defog, but other Ghost-types like Sinistcha and Sableye are also good options.
Checks and Counters
========
**Taunt**: Taunt stops Glimmet from fulfilling its role as an entry hazard setter, especially since almost all Taunt users outspeed it.
**Entry Hazard Removal**: Entry hazard removers like Great Tusk, Iron Treads, and Corviknight completely nullify all of the value Glimmet brings to a match.
**Steel- and Ground-types**: Many Steel- and Ground-types such as Ting-Lu, Garchomp, and Iron Crown comfortably wall Glimmet and can potentially set up on it. Its only coverage for Steel-types is Mud Shot, and it almost never wants to run Corrosion over Toxic Debris.
