Go for the Legs! [OU RMT]

[This still needs alot of neatening up and explaining, but I have to currently go so here's the skeleton so far and still needs to be edited and "prettied up"]

The goal of this team is to paralyze and annoy the opponent and to wear them down with faster Pokemon and annoyances.

472.gif

Batman (Gliscor) (M) @ Toxic Orb
Trait: Poison Heal
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Substitute
- Earthquake
- Ice Fang
- Protect

Physical Wall Gliscor rules. He can take any [non Ice] hit like a pro. U-turn allows for scouting, EQ is for STAB and Ice Fang is for coverage, and Protect/Substitute is hellishly annoying to get around once set up and it is immensely satisfying. I'm proud of this Gliscor as he's able to take and take and take and take punishment.

Lynch (Jirachi) @ Leftovers
Trait: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 HP / 108 Atk / 148 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Stealth Rock
- Body Slam
- Iron Head
- Fire Punch

Parahaxing. Jirachi is usually my lead Pokemon. He sets up Stealth Rocks and procedes to Body Slam the foe into paralyses. Iron Head is for Flinch abuse and Fire Punch is for Magnezone/Ferrothorn/Scizor/other steel types. The EV Spread is for bulk with speed.

Soap (Rotom-W) @ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Thunder Wave
- Volt Switch
- Hydro Pump
- Hidden Power [Fire]

A defensive Rotom-W. Thunder Wave for paralysis, Volt Switch scouts, Hydro Pump for STAB and HP Fire for pesky Ferrothorn and others of its ilk.

Vulcan (Heatran) (M) @ Air Balloon
Trait: Flash Fire
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Heat Wave
- Substitute
- Dark Pulse
- Dragon Pulse

Replaced Dragonite for coverage reasons. Substitute on switches and then hits while it can.

Phantom (Latios) (M) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Draco Meteor
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Surf
- Thunder

Scarfed Latios outspeeds and kills alot of Pokemon. Why Scarf'd on a paralyses team? - because I can't paralyze everything and it works for me. I'm considering Life Orb on him, however, as I hate being locked in and generally forced to switch. Draco Meteor tears the opponent a new one, HP Fire hits steels that would come in to wall Latios, Surf is coverage and Thunder deals with Rain teams I've had problems with.

Tyranitar.gif

Gaia (Tyranitar) (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Dragon Tail
- Thunder Wave
- Stone Edge
- Hone Claws

While I try to avoid weather, Tyranitar tanks hits and his lower speed loves the paralyses handicap. I used to run a DD Set, but I made Dragonite my offensive physical and T-tar works alot better as a tank. Dragon Tail is for phazing, T-Wave for paralysis, Stone Edge for STAB and Hone Claws to boost Attack and fix Dragon Tail/Stone Edge accuracy issues

You have 4 choiced pokemon, 3 of which are scarfed. This is just ridiculous on a team built to abuse thunder wave. In terms of defence you have Scizor which can take a couple of hits and Lanturn. This combination of lacking defence and choice items will greatly ease prediction for your opponent, allowing him to set up very easily and decimate your team with something like Excadrill or Conkeldurr. I recommend changing your Jirachi to something like this:

Jirachi @ Leftovers
Serene Grace | Jolly
252 Atk / 176 Spe / 82 HP
Iron Head
Body Slam
Drain Punch / Fire Punch
Stealth Rock

and replacing your Deoxys with a defensive pokemon like Gliscor, which can deal with many of the top level threats that your team will face.

Thanks, I hadn't realized that. [ No idea why :/ ] I tried out a few Gliscor variants and found one I liked, and adjusted the team accordingly to what I've encountered.

Hey, this seems like a good team on its own, but there are a few changes you can make so that it performs the way you want it to. Drought is a huge threat to this team. In the sun, pokemon like Growth Venusaur and Volcarona can be a huge threat to this team. Also, Specs Latios does major damage to this team since a Specs Draco Meteor or Surf will smash every team member you currently have. In order to remedy this, you could try a Scarf Tyranitar over your current set. With Scarf Tyranitar, Ninetales will become very easy to take out so Drought will no longer be a problem. Also, Tyranitar can check Latios much easier with this set, which means that these two threats are taken care of very easily. Maximizing attack and speed is needed while running a Jolly nature on this set. Also, a moveset of Crunch | Pursuit | Ice Punch | Stone Edge would be the best fitting. Superpower is an option over Ice Punch if you want to try and hit Lucario and Ferrothorn hard on the switch.

If you really want to annoy your opponents, you could try running a Sub Protect Gliscor over the set you're running now. Sub Protect Gliscor can be insanely annoying if you get up a Substitute against slower pokemon. You can PP stall most theats that could usually take Gliscor out, such as Bulky Rotom-W. Running a moveset of Substitute | Protect | Earthquake | Ice Fang would be the best for this team, while you should switch your EV spread to 252 HP | 184 Def | 72 Spe. Your Scizor seems to be the weakest link of this team. There does not really seem to be much of a reason to have it here other than to have powerful priority as it does not fit in with your "annoyer" theme. If you want to provide residual damage, I would try running Forretress over Scizor. Forretress can get up hazards and spin away hazards for this team. More importantly, Forretress will fit into your theme much better than Scizor really ever could since it gives you a form of passive damage. A moveset of Toxic Spikes | Rapid Spin | Volt Change | Gyro Ball would work best. An EV spread of 252 HP | 252 SpD | 4 Def and an Impish nature with a shed shell or leftovers would give you the best possible use out of Forretress here.

Finally, there is really no point to having all of these hazards if you decide to not run a spin blocker. This is why Jellicent would work very well over your Lanturn. Jellicent can run Taunt and Will-o-Wisp to break down Skarmory and Ferrothorn while being able to spin block. A bold nature with an EV spread of 248 HP | 216 Def | 44 Spe would be good since it can outrun skarmory and taunt it before it has a chance to spike all over you. If you run Scald | Will-o-Wisp | Taunt | Recover then you will be able to successfully fulfill the roles that Jellicent can fill that are listed above. As for some other options, you could try running a more specially defensive spread on Jirachi with Wish | Iron Head | Body Slam | Stealth Rocks as well. This can give you a secondary check to Latios, although toxic spikes and spreading paralysis may not always be favorable.

Anyways, this is a nice team. Good Luck!

Hey, thanks for that AB2, you've given me alot to play around with. I replaced Scizor, but instead of spamming hazards or burns&toxic, I decided to go with a parashuffler like Multiscale Dragonite. SubProtect Gliscor causes people to ragequit it's so annoyingly good.

Just a few things that you should change to your team right away anyways:
1. Latios should be running Timid instead of Modest (to outspeed some necessary things in OU). Also, if you want to be running an Electric-type attack on Latios, then you should use Thunderbolt. Thunder is obviously the more powerful move, but w/o rain on your team, the accuracy is too low for something that already is immensely powerful with Specs.
2. Rotom-W ChoiceSpecs/Scarf is a much better choice than Lanturn. First off, it has the ability Levitate; so no Ground-type attacks affecting you soon. Next, all of it's attacks are going to be much more powerful. As well as it's bulk being much better too.
A Scarf/Specs (I recommend Scarf) set of:
Rotom-W @ Choice Scarf | Levitate
Modest | 4 HP / 252 SpAtt / 252 Spe
Trick / Hydro Pump / Volt Switch / Will-O-Wisp (or Hidden Power [Fire])
This should do you very nicely.
3. An offensive DD / Outrage / Roost / Earthquake will be much more effective than just a fazing set. You already have Jirachi for Paralysis, so let Nite be an offensive sweeper.

These sets would just improve your team for the better. Hopefully this helps you out greatly! Sorry for not listing threats and how to deal with them, I'm a bit crunched for time. Anyways, good luck!

Sorry that i dont have time for a proper rate, but i would just like to look at your dragonite set for a minute. Dragon Dance isnt going to be doing anything for you due to Thunder Wave slowing opponents down and DragonTail having -6 priority. I recommend changing DD to Substitute however if you really want some attack boosts, change DD to Hone Claws to boost attack and perfect dragon tails accuracy.

An opponent needs only 2 attack types to hit your entire team for super effective damage: Ice and Ground, both of which are common throughout the metagame. A lone Mamoswine could potentially threaten your whole team, and is immune to Thunder Wave besides. I'd consider adding a Machamp or Ferrothorn to your team: Machamp has Dynamic Punch, and good potentail synergy with Jirachi as an offensive core. Ferrothorn, on the other hand, has access to entry hazards, which will punish your foes for switching (which they will against a team like this). Ferrothorn also has Power Whip to hit incoming Ground-types, and can even learn Thunder Wave itself.

@Eos: Latios is Scarfed instead of Spec'ed so I appreciate the Sp.Attack boost from Modest. "Thunder is obviously the more powerful move, but w/o rain on your team, the accuracy is too low for something that already is immensely powerful with Specs. " <-Scarfed not Spec'ed, and I run Thunder for Rain Teams. I never used Thunderbolt as Draco Meteor was usually the superior option in those situations, and I really wanted to go for the OHKO on Rain abusers.

Tested Rotom over Lanturn, agreed but with some personal changes.
