Going with the meta

So basically I wanted to use main metamons, and combine them together with possibly surprising sets. The team went trough some serious changes before it settled to this. I am still looking for improvements especially on the defensive side.

The team:

I settled to this team mainly because the versatility in typing and momentum it can create, as well as raw attacking force and priority. I have physical attack mainly in Bisharp and some in Genesect and Tyranitar, special attacks come from Mega-Venusaur, Landorus, Genesect and some from Rotom-W. Tyranitar is my special wall and Rotom takes the physical side. Megasaur is also really bulky and both Bisharp and Genesect can take some hits due the good steel typing. I will tell about the problems more in detail later.

Genesect @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Download
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 Atk
Hasty Nature
- Extreme Speed
- U-turn
- Ice Beam
- Flamethrower
The uber! Genesect is too good in OU in my opinion. So versatile, so powerful. I chose to run the Scarfed special set with ESpeed (so it forces you to shiny and hasty nature) just because it grants so much momentum with U-turn and Ice Beam and Flamethrower can take half of the meta down by themselves. ESpeed is for revenge killing and yeah, I like priority. I am a bit sad that I had to choice lock Genesect, but by my experience it's really necessary to get the speed. I don't know should I run ESpeed in special set, and I am looking for opinions! Genesect is definitely very strong member of my team but I often find it hard to stay in and Scarf forces me to switch often.

Landorus (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Sheer Force
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 HP
Timid Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earth Power
- Psychic
- Focus Blast
This guy is a beast! He covers the special side of my team really well with Genesect. His move set completes the Genesect's and they play well together. I chose to go max speed and SAtk just for the raw power it gives with LO and Sheer Force. Also he is my only entry hazarder and I lack defoger and spinner, so sometimes it becomes an issue. I could go without rocks, but I like to have them for the occasional Charizard, Talonflame, Volcarona combos etc. and also to bait defog from Mandibuzz or Skarmory or likes for the boost to Bisharp.

Bisharp (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Defiant
EVs: 8 HP / 252 Atk / 248 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Iron Head
- Sucker Punch
- Knock Off
- Substitute
Now this might be something you are not used to see (at least I haven't). Becouse most Bisharps I've met run LO or CB. Anyway, the pure switch in from Bisharp usually forces switch and he gets those swithes in quite freely from U-turn and Volt Switch, as well as Venusaurs sleep. And that's the time to put sub up and either Knock Off or Sucker Punch the team to ground. Bisharp is my go-to Aegislash counter in this team and mostly I use him more in late, but taking Assault Vests off from Conkeldurrs is always nice since if you expect switch you can always just go for Knock Off for the item removal.
I went max EVs to speed instead to HP because I need to outspeed things like Tyranitar, Aegislash, Azumarill, Scizor, Conkeldurr and non-invested Heatran and Rotom for example. 8 EVs in HP creates odd number so you can sub 4 times.

Venusaur @ Venusaurite
Ability: Chlorophyll
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 HP
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 30 SAtk / 30 Spd
- Sleep Powder
- Synthesis
- Sludge Bomb
- Hidden Power [Fire]
Well, this thing is another beast! With Mega-Evolve he gets massive bulk and still hits hard, really hard. The moveset is this becouse I really really want the Sleep support it gives. Also synthesis is strong recovery move (which sadly doesn't have synergy with Ttars Sandstorm) which allows me to keep my presence around. Sludge bomb is kinda obvious move for STAB and but I went HP Fire just becouse I often see steels switched in hoping for forced switch or set-up opportunity (MegaLuke, Aegislash and Scizor for example) and it's good coverage. Overall I really do like Megasaur just for the mix of superior bulk and attacking force. Also getting the Thick Fat leaves me only vulnerable for Psychic and Flying moves. I have Dark-types for Pshychic and only Talonflame is notable Flying-moves using attacker (maybe some Hurricane variants like Tornadus and SAtk Dnite, Acrobatics Gliscor maybe) which gets destroyed by set-upped SR or TTar.

Rotom-Wash @ Chesto Berry
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 204 Def / 52 Spd
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Rest
- Will-O-Wisp
- Volt Switch
- Hydro Pump
I went for physically defensive set just becouse I have specially strong tank in TTar and I can switch Venusaur to take many special attacks. The main reason is just that you can take the 1 extra hit to cripple your attacker with WoW next turn. Everything in this set just compliments the meta, maybe only unusual thing is to go for fully physically defensive. 1 free status absorb, completes VoltTurn, cripples and has powerful STAB water, which I lacked.

Tyranitar (F) @ Assault Vest
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 HP / 252 SDef
Careful Nature
- Crunch
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Pursuit
Specially defensive. Really defensive. Assault Vest, Max EV and Sandstorm... nothing takes this beast down straight away and this is thing hits hard while taking hits like a man.

252 SpA Gengar Focus Blast vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Assault Vest Tyranitar in Sand: 172-204 (42.5 - 50.4%) -- 1.2% chance to 2HKO yeah... While TTar can OHKO back easily, and against many pokemons like Mega-Alakazam.

The problem is that even though my team takes Sand easily (only Rotom and Venusaur takes damage) Tyranitar lacks recovery and can be weared down if the game goes slower pace or he gets burned/toxiced.

All in all, my team can play around quite a long when looking for opportunities to strike. My weaknesses are stalls though, at least what I have experienced. Also statuses wear me down and fast. Some bigger problems have been Conkeldurrs, and I have no idea how to get past them if my Landorus isn't up.

Leave opinions and tell me what you would do to improve!

My advice is admittedly going to be underwhelming.... I apologize in advance :P

So first of all, I feel like roserade can pull off mega venusaur's set much better. It gets technician boosted hidden power. With this, you've freed up your mega slot. Now I see you don't have very many hazards, so bisharp is relatively poor in those conditions, I'd recommend using excadrill in his place, or get more hazards. Given, roserade loses the sheer bulk that mega venusaur holds so dearly, it will hit much harder, as well as freein up your mega slot. However, I don't really see a mega that would fit into your team. Next order of business: I really don't think you should run choice scarf and extreme speed, one of em have to go... I suggest using thunderbolt over extreme speed, because it gives more coverage. I also strongly discourage having speed invested, unless there is a specific thing you want to outspeed. Sucker punch is going to be doing most of the talking, so speed is relatively pointless. Last thing: don't use stealth rocks on landorus, one of its plus sides is the unpredictability of the held item: wether it is a scarf or an orb. If you can make them believe you're scarfed, you can really surprise them with a switch attack. I like using sludge wave because it gets the fairies. A lot of this is just my opinion, none of this is really backed up by facts or stats or anything. If anything if recommend trying roserade, because its so similar.

Roserade... Never thought about even using that pokemon. Might be interesting. But I would lose waaaay too much bulk and Megasaur's main job isn't hit only hard: It's hitting hard while taking hits to the mouth!

I also understand that Excadrill can be used instead of Bisharp: Both have Steel STAB and hit relatively hard. But Bisharp has that priority Excadrill lacks, and Dark STAB which is the new Dragon this gen. Altrough getting Excadrill would let him have SR and Lando cound go Sludge Wave...

When I was choosing Lando's set it was like: Sludge Wave, Focus Blast, Psychic, Earth Power; choose 3. Fairies weren't a problem so...

Thanks for rate! I might try Excadrill!
