Golurk is one of the strongest wallbreakers in RU, being able to consistently 2HKO most of the metagame; as such, it finds its home on many offensive teams, being able to punch holes in opposing teams and eliminate common defensive Pokemon like Galarian Slowbro, Umbreon, and Milotic. Close Combat provides great neutral coverage, notably being able to OHKO Umbreon and Snorlax after Stealth Rock damage. If running No Guard, then Dynamic Punch can be chosen instead of Close Combat, disrupting defensive Pokemon like Quagsire and Porygon2 and potentially preventing them from recovering, which gives Golurk free turns to KO them later. Shadow Punch is more reliable than Poltergeist and is useful against itemless targets that try to take advantage of it, like Galarian Slowbro, Xatu, and Dhelmise, or against foes that have had their items removed with Knock Off; however, it should be noted that it fails to reliably 2HKO Mantine and Golisopod. Trick helps Golurk become less prediction-reliant and makes itemless targets become vulnerable to Poltergeist; however, losing Choice Band means it shouldn't be used very often unless your team struggles to break down these threats. Golurk can wield a Life Orb set to ease prediction against defensive cores that can pivot on it, notably Umbreon + Bronzong + Mantine. A Rock Polish set can be run with a Spell Tag and a Jolly nature to become a late-game sweeper that can set up on Pokemon like Galarian Slowbro and Klefki and outspeed revenge killers like Choice Scarf Gardevoir, Sneasel, and Goodra. A Jolly nature is also notable for handling Adamant Bewear, opposing Golurk, and Speed-invested Mantine.

Golurk is mainly found on balance or offensive teams that benefit from its ability to break down defensive cores so its partners can clean up late-game, but it requires support to get in safely and start wallbreaking. VoltTurn partners like Dragalge, Porygon2, Passimian, and Barraskewda are great for bringing in Golurk so it can gain ample opportunities to wallbreak. Dragalge can tank hits from Pokemon like Virizion and Ninetales and threaten other Grass-types like Tangela and Eldegoss before switching out. Porygon2 can lure in Steel-types like Bronzong and Copperajah and bring in Golurk safely with Teleport so it can apply immense pressure with Earthquake. Passimian and Barraskewda can help mitigate Golurk's poor Speed and bait in defensive Pokemon like Galarian Slowbro and Jellicent. Entry hazard setters such as Bronzong, Druddigon, and Spikes Golisopod make Golurk's job easier, as entry hazard damage helps quickly wear down Golurk's switch-ins. Special wallbreakers like Goodra, Choice Specs Gardevoir, and Salazzle can apply pressure on physically defensive Pokemon that attempt to pivot on Golurk such as Milotic and Porygon2.

Golurk is one of the strongest wallbreakers in the metagame, being able to consistently 2HKO most of the metagame; as such it finds its home on many offensive teams, being able to holepunch common defensive Pokemon like Galarian Slowbro, Umbreon, and Milotic. Close Combat provides great neutral coverage, notably being able to OHKO Umbreon and Snorlax after Stealth Rock. If running No Guard, then Dynamic Punch can be run instead of Close Combat, disrupting defensive Pokemon like Quagsire and Porygon2 by potentially preventing them from recovering and buys it free turns so it can KO them later. Shadow Punch is more reliable than Poltegeist and is useful against itemless targets that try to take advantage of it like Xatu and Dhelmise [Slowbro-Galar is sometimes itemless too ; could also mention possibility of teammates using knock off accidentally causes one of their mons to block poltergeist]; however, it should be noted that it fails to reliably 2HKO Mantine and Golisopod. Trick helps Golurk become less prediction reliant and make itemless targets become vulnerable to Poltegeist, however, the damage output from losing Choice Band means it shouldn't be used very often unless your team struggles to break down these threats. Golurk can wield a Life Orb set to ease prediction on defensive cores that can pivot on it; notably Umbreon or Mantine cores [throw in one more example, like Levitate Bronzong + Bewear/Drapion]. A Rock Polish set can be run with a Spell Tag and a Jolly Nature to setup on Pokemon like Galarian Slowbro and Klefki and become a late-game sweeper that can outspeed revenge killers like Choice Scarf Gardevoir, Sneasel, and Goodra. [mention Jolly, which is nice to outspeed Adamant Bewear, opposing Golurk, and Speed-invested defensive Pokemon like Mantine]

Golurk is mainly found on balanced or offensive teams that benefit from its ability to break down defensive cores so its partners can clean-up late game, but it requires support to help it get it safely and start wallbreaking. Entry hazard setters such as Bronzong, Druddigon, and Golisopod make Golurk's job easier, as entry hazard damage helps quickly wear down Golurk's switch ins.[move this sentence abt hazard setters after the section abt pivot teammates, since that is most important. also mention spikes specifically-every team already runs SR]. Offensive [doesn't have to be offensive; can just be general pivots] VoltTurn partners like Dragalge, Passimian, and Barraskewda, are great for bringing in Golurk so it can gain ample opportunities to wallbreak. [I also like teleport porygon2 for it] Dragalge can tank hits from Pokemon like Virizion and Ninetales as well as threatening other Grass-types like Tangela and Eldegoss before switching, while the latter can help mitigate Golurk's poor speed and bait in defensive Pokemon like Galarian Slowbro and Mantine [you don't rly threaten out healthy mantine with golurk; maybe mention Pass chipping them with U-turn / rock slide? (i'd say knock off but polt rip)]. Specially offensive wallbreakers like Goodra, Choice Specs Gardevoir, and Salazzle, can apply pressure on physically defensive Pokemon that attempt to pivot on Golurk such as Milotic and Porygon2.
