Got me a little stall in the marketplace... Too bad excadrills can't be sold anymore.

Alright, this is the essentially final version, sans any of the recommended changes, of my team. Hopefully you guys can make some good suggestions i haven't thought of yet, because this team needs help.

Hippowdon (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP / 32 Def / 224 SDef
Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Roar
- Stealth Rock
- Slack Off
Specially defensive hippowdon, the best rocks lead that isn't just a suicide lead ever. Ko'ing this is incredibly hard (80% from a max spatk rotom-w hydro pump), so i can almost always get up rocks and disrupt enemy weather. This guy basically just walls electric types and phazes everything that i need phazed, but i'm alright with a replacement, although i love this guy. As for the moves, the only non-standard is roar. I find that being able to take an attack from any offensive booster that isn't SD hax and then roar it away is incredible for a stall team, and the sheer surprise value can mean i get a free phaze on things like d-nite.

Roserade (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SAtk / 252 SDef
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Leaf Storm
- Sleep Powder
- Toxic Spikes
- Rest

Walls rotom-w, basically. Also sets up t-spikes and takes bulky waters/politoed, while healing with rest and putting scizor to sleep. I'd say more, but that's basically it.

Starmie @ Leftovers
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Rapid Spin
- Hydro Pump
- Ice Beam
- Recover

Starmie is my spinner, obviously. Recover is great because it's a spinner that can actually take damage and heal it off. Hydro pump is so i can actually break things, and ice beam is for LO latios, which is a top threat to my team. It's also for celebi, and dragonite. This covers nape and (BAN ME PLEASE), but not all that well. Still, it does that and spins. This doesn't actually cover all that much, but then as a spinner it's not supposed to.

Sableye (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Prankster
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Taunt
- Will-O-Wisp
- Night Shade
- Recover
Spinblocks almost everything ever, screws with offensive physical boosters, stallbreaks, and takes TR reuni along with hippowdon. What's not to like? This and skarmory form my essentially physical walling core.

Skarmory (M) @ Shed Shell
Trait: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Brave Bird
- Whirlwind
- Roost
- Spikes
Standard skarm, with shed shell for the smile i get when magnezones switch in.

Heatran (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Flash Fire
EVs: 100 HP / 252 SDef / 156 Spd
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Lava Plume
- Protect
- Earth Power
- Roar
Takes most of the fire-types,like darminitan, which i have serious problems dealing with. Eventually he'll get killed on the switch, but hippo's incredible ability to get up both rocks AND ss can limit the chance of that happening. Speed is for max speed scizor, and massively advanced speed creep i suppose? Roar takes care of volcarona easily, as well as bulky DD nite, and forces lum berry d-nite to outrage, and then waste its lum berry, so sableye can take him down with a priority WOW.

If you feel like you need more detail on something, feel free to ask.

The main problem with those suggestions is pretty simple: Starmie needs to recover in pokemon's faces. If i predict wrong, i can't afford to be asleep. Also, it generally stays in multiple turns to do its thing. It also definitely needs recover, and i don't really see what it needs GK for. Gastro is nothing more than a mildly amusing roadblock to me anyways.

Special threats like Tornadus and Latios are a nightmare. I'm think you lead with hippo regardless of whether they lead with Politoed or not, but if you are forced out without getting up SR via Politoed, specs Tornadus can pretty much sweep you. Even if you do get SR up it will cause alot of damage just by spamming hurricane + focus blast. Even Skarm is 2hkod so you can't really play around it without taking significant damage. Latios is also ridiculous since it can KO something and switch out against Starmie to something like Rotom, DM + HP Fire + Psyshock / Surf takes out everything. You might want to bring calm Jellicent back over Sableye. It's handles similar things like Reuniclus with night shade and you know the rest. I don't know if you've considered it but it's something I wanted to point out.

latios isnt much of a threat, tran kind of walls it unless its got lo or specs surf (which means it needs to hit tran on the switch, not the other way around). on top of that, starmie outspeeds and everything on this team is like maxing sdef lol. tornadus suffers from the exact same problem i just mentioned, except it relies on 70% acc focus blast and has a sr weakness.

i really do like this team the only thing i would suggest is just keeping hippowdon 252 hp/252 def/4 spD impish (or relaxed to help combat trick room?) ... the extra defense from impish is pretty needed in this team because of how well you already cover special attacks... on the flip side, a loose sd lucario or scizor could really hurt, despite sableye being able to burn (wisp is a 75% lets not forget). idk, i feel like you handle special attacks wonderfully right now as it is that the extra defense would be a really safe fallback for hippowdon (idk maybe terrakion gets poisoned from toxic spikes and cant be burned? theres just random stuff like that where having that extra defense wouldnt be too bad).

maybe at the very least you could change from +sdef to +def to ease my fears ^-^

And what exactly does Heatran do? Lava plume it for a 6HKO while Latios can just recover and surf for the 2HKO? Even with LO recoil Tornadus can take down at least 2 members of this team everytime if it is brought in early, especially before stealth rock. So what if Starmie outspeeds, Latias can switch since it doesn't pack pursuit. A stall team shouldn't be at such a disadvantage against such common threats (at least it Latios' case). Also Starmie isn't really switching in for free at all. It doesn't matter if Roserade or Sableye are calm either. Scizor is countered by Heatran. SR tar might even work over hippo since it can at least pursuit Lati@s and tank tornadus out with chople though hippo is much more durable.

EDIT: LO surf is the standard. But yea, toxic + protect beats Latios. Also Heatran is the best common Scizor check, and counter to the SpD SD set. You can't say if it falls this team gets swept esp. if there is team preview. Then you could say that Rotom sweeps if Rose falls and Reuniclus sweeps if Sableye falls. Just editing so I don't clog up this thread anymore.

which is why i said unless.... that is one specific set (lo surf/dm/psyshock/recover) that really hurts the team, but even then its not all lost - that being said, why not just go toxic > earth power on heatran instead then, this gives you a safe way of being able to beat latios (by going to sableye and spamming recover or doing your best to stall it out with tran).

its also dumb to assume everything is up and alive, scizor is countered by tran but shit can easily happen to change that, sableye + def on hippo just provides extra insurance (not just to scizor, but to a whole lot of different threats) because imo he doesnt really need the special defense because of his current team using things like sdef sableye.

Hey, I think you need to expand your descriptions; especially Roserade's, Skarmory's, and Sableye's.

3. Have some actual words in your post beyond your six Pokemon and their moves. Not following this makes your post quite boring to read and rate. All Pokemon should have a good reason for being in your team anyway, so why not post that reason? If you are having trouble with this one, start by giving an explanation for each team member. Why are they there? What role do they serve? How do you get them in? Then, give an explanation of how you would open with the team and how you would go about using it. All of these things help people rate your team and allow us to offer more helpful advice.

This does not mean add one sentence saying "Standard x" or "all-around awesome" after each Pokemon. If you put thought into making the team, you can put thought into posting it.

Specially-defensive Jirachi can really aid this team by tanking hits from Latios, Tornadus, and Starmie that this team may have trouble with. I also second Eggbert's suggestion to bring back Jellicent, but possibly go physical defensive, since Terrakion in the sand can be a bitch to deal with. I suggest replacing Heatran for this Jirachi. I know Heatran was there to tank Fire hits, but between Hippowdon's sand and Jellicent's fire resist, I believe it could work out, while gaining a more solid Draco Metoer / Hurricane resist as well as Wish Support in Jirachi.

Rain teams seem troublesome because once roserade is gone you do not have anything which can take stab rain boosted water attacks. Roserade is your only bulky water resist so once he is gone you are in deep trouble. An opposing starmie on a rain team or not could hurt you a lot in particular the common life orb set with hydro pump/surf, ice beam, thunderbolt and rapid spin/recover which can hit every one of your team except sableye super effectively. Without the rain starmie can 2hko or ohko every member of your team with rocks and without rocks only roserade has a chance of not being 2hkod. With rain up and roserade gone starmie can sweep your team with its water move and hit your starmie with thunderbolt while your starmie can only respond with a resisted hydro pump. In addition starmie can spin away your hazards if it opts rapid for rapid spin in its last spot. I would suggest swapping skarmory for ferrothorn who has much better special bulk and resists water. The standard ferrothorn set should do the trick.
