VGC Gouging Fire [QC 0/1]

Gouging Fire @ Booster Energy
Ability: Protosynthesis
Level: 50
Tera Type: Fairy
EVs: 164 HP / 84 Atk / 4 Def / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Howl
- Heat Crash
- Breaking Swipe
- Burning Bulwark

Gouging Fire blazes through the competition in Regulation F. It is amazing at supporting its team, using Howl to boost teammates like Chien-Pao and Kingambit, and using Breaking Swipe to cripple physical attackers like Rillaboom, Chien-Pao, and Dragonite. Tera Fairy is used to give it an immunity to the Dragon-Type moves of Raging Bolt and opposing Gouging Fire. The Attack EVs give Gouging Fire a high chance to OHKO most Rillaboom, Amoonguss, and Flutter Mane while boosted by Chien-Pao's Sword of Ruin, while being bulky enough to survive Moonblast from Choice Specs Flutter Mane as well as a Sword of Ruin boosted Tera Water Surging Strikes from Urshifu-R. Gouging Fire can struggle against Incineroar, as the cycle of Fake Out and Intimidate slow it down significantly. Landorus-I is another check as it can tank a Heat Crash while threatening to KO Gouging Fire both in and out of Tera with Earth Power and Sludge Bomb. Partners like Chien-Pao and Kingambit compliment Gouging Fire really well, as Chien-Pao's Sword of Ruin allows Gouging Fire to pick up some surprise KOs, and it can pressure Landorus-I with its Ice-Type moves. Meanwhile, Kingambit's Defiant ability makes opponents have to think twice before bringing an Incineroar against Gouging Fire. Rillaboom can help against annoying Water types like Ogerpon-W and Urshifu-R. As Gouging Fire is used on very physically offensive teams, it is often seen with Ting-Lu, Dondozo, Zapdos-Galar, and Dragonite.

I'd like to look over this one more time after you implement. Remember that this is about Gouging Fire's place in the meta, its not an analysis so you don't have to go into detail about what Gouging does in each game. (Also please credit both me and USUM Ubers because he worked with me on this qc @ spotlight mods)

Gouging Fire blazes through the competition in Regulation F, threatening common threats like Rillaboom and Flutter Mane while giving its teammates the support they need to really shine. Gouging Fire is amazing at supporting its team, using Howl to turn physical attacking teammates boost teammates like Chien-Pao and Kingambit into terrifying sweepers, and using Breaking Swipe to cripple opponents physical attackers like Rillaboom, Chien-Pao, and Dragonite. Tera Fairy is most commonly used to give it an immunity to the Dragon-Type moves of Raging Bolt and opposing Gouging Fire. The given Attack EVs give Gouging Fire a high chance to OHKO most Rillaboom, Amoonguss, and Flutter Mane while boosted by Chien-Pao's Sword of Ruin, while surviving Moonblast from Choice Specs Flutter Mane as well as a Sword of Ruin boosted Tera Water Surging Strikes from Urshifu-R. Gouging Fire can struggle against balance teams using Incineroar and Landorus-I, as the cycle of Fake Out and Intimidate slow it down significantly, and Landorus can easily tank a Heat Crash with the support of Incineroar, and threatens to KO it both in and out of Tera with Earth Power and Sludge Bomb.(These ideas are good but I think that the combination of Incin and Lando is too specific to mention, both of them are annoying though so I'd mention them separately) Partners like Chien-Pao and Kingambit compliment Gouging Fire really well, as Chien-Pao's Sword of Ruin allows Gouging Fire to pick up some surprise KOs, and it can pressure Landorus-I with its Ice-Type moves. Meanwhile, Kingambit's Defiant ability makes opponents have to think twice before bringing an Incineroar against Gouging Fire. Kingambit and Chien-Pao's Dark typings can also help Gouging Fire against problematic Trick Room teams (I think you meant psyspam here but I don't think that is worth mentioning over other things, if you want to mention trick room then do it with Ting-Lu), while Rillaboom can help against annoying Water types like Ogerpon-W and Urshifu-R. (You should be talking about how gouging is primarily on physically offensive teams and mention more specific partners like Ting-Lu, Gapdos, and probably the Dozo Ting teams too)

Ready for a recheck I think, looks a bit better but still pretty long

1/1, if the character count is still too high lmk

The Attack EVs give Gouging Fire a high chance to OHKO most Rillaboom, Amoonguss, and Flutter Mane while boosted by Chien-Pao's Sword of Ruin, while being bulky enough to survive Moonblast from Choice Specs Flutter Mane as well as (don't need the bulk for this) a Sword of Ruin boosted Tera Water Surging Strikes from Urshifu-R. (Move this to right before you mention defiant mons so you can mention the other gouging partners earlier) Partners like Chien-Pao and Kingambit compliment Gouging Fire really well, as Chien-Pao's Sword of Ruin allows Gouging Fire to pick up some surprise KOs, boosts Gouging Fire's damage, and it can pressure Landorus-I with its Ice-Type moves(I don't think this is too important, if you have the character count then leave it). Meanwhile, Kingambit's Defiant ability makes opponents have to think twice before bringing an Incineroar against Gouging Fire.(mention gapdos here) Rillaboom can help against annoying Water types like Ogerpon-W and Urshifu-R.(Feels extra+rilla isn't THAT common as a partner) As Gouging Fire is used on very physically offensive teams, it is often seen with Ting-Lu, Dondozo, Zapdos-Galar, and Dragonite. (I think you can move this can be combined with the part where you talk about howl boosting teammates)
