Moves
========
  • Seed Bomb hits Whiscash and specially defensive Water-Types hard and it hits Mantine for damage good enough to KO with Shadow Sneak
  • Shadow Sneak to hit weakened Psychic and Ghost-Types for super effective damage such as Gastly and Kadabra
  • Rock Slide to hit Flying and Bug-Type pokemon such as Vivillion and Vespiquen for a KO or heavy damage
  • Flame Charge to hit opposing Steel and Grass Type pokemon for super effective damage while gaining a speed boost or Giga Drain as a form of recovery
Set Details
========
  • A EV spread of 252 HP and Attack will allow Gourgeist to take minimum damage from Stealth Rock and hit as hard as possible
  • Frisk identifies the opposing pokemon's item allowing you to scout out for choice items and sashes as well as Eviolites
  • Assault Vest boosts Gourgeist's special defense to a good level allowing it to take some special attacks such as Bug Buzz or Thunderbolt
  • Impish Nature allows Gourgeist's good Defense to bulk up to a really good Defense stat
  • Life Orb could be ran to give Gourgeist more power to its attacks, Expert Belt could be ran to power up super effective moves
Usage Tips
========
  • Gourgeist should be used to wall Water-Types and Grass-Types as well as physical Bug-Types
  • Gourgeist doesn't like being poisoned or burned. It doesn't cope well with either status condition
  • Strong special attackers can OHKO Gourgeist or 2HKO it such as Vivillion and Butterfree
  • Ninetails will be able to OHKO Gourgeist with a sun boosted STAB Overheat
Team Options
========
  • Pokemon that benefit from having Mantine and Quagsire gone make good team mates such as Golem or Rhydon make good teammates, they both cover Gourgeist's weaknesses and can set up rocks on the opposing side
  • Teammates that can get rid of Lampent and Haunter such as Murkrow or Pawniard assist Gourgeist alot
  • Flash Fire pokemon such as Lampent or Ninetails make great teammates being that they can take Fire-Type attacks and make theirs more powerful
  • Normal Types make good teammates being that they are immune to Ghost while Gourgeist covers Fighting in return
[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
========
  • Trick Or Treat plus Shadow Force, but doesn't affect Normal Types
  • Trick Room but outsped by some things
  • Will-O-Wisp
  • Explosion but walled by Ghost Types and sashed mons

Checks and Counters
=============
**Strong Special moves**: Gourgeist doesn't cope well against strong special moves from Ninetails or Vivillion.

**Status Conditions**: Gourgeist is wittled by poison and burn, poison forces Gourgeist to switch and burn renders his attacks useless.

**Boufflant and Sawsbuck**: Sap Sipper Boufflant and Sawsbuck render Gourgeist's STABS useless and force Gourgeist to go to Rock Slide or Flame Charge both carry MegaHorn which can wear down Gourgeist.

**Physically Defensive Pokemon**: Physically defensive Pokemon can wall Gourgeist completely and some can KO Gourgeist.

The set for Gourgeist-L should match the set for Gourgeist-XL. Assault Vest should not be used. Many of the Pokemon you listed, such as Mantine, Bouffalant, Vivillon, aren't actually in PU.

Wow. I'm sorry but I have to reassign this. This skeleton shows little knowledge of the PU metagame, and the set itself is pretty bad. With an average base 95 Atk, mediocre offensive STAB moves, small offensive movepool, and terrible Speed, an offensive set will not fly. In addition, you mention Pokemon such as Mantine, Vivillion, Haunter, Quagsire, and Bouffalant, all of which are not PU in the first place. Not to mention that you mention a bunch of irrelevant Pokemon as well.

I highly suggest visiting the PU Room on Pokemon Showdown. Everyone there will be happy to take you under their wing and help you improve so that in the future, you can write analyses.
