Set Description
=============
Blast Burn deals massive damage under sun at the cost of a recharge turn if it does not OHKO the foe. Air Slash is Mega Charizard Y's secondary STAB move; it is more reliable but does significantly less to most targets. It also allows Charizard to cheese some counters such as specially defensive Togekiss, Aggron, and Crustle by causing them to flinch before finishing them off with Blast Burn or Solar Beam. Solar Beam also beats some Water-types such as Mega Slowbro, Manaphy, and Mega Swampert. In the final moveslot, Mega Charizard Y has many different options. Endure is for Torrent Greninja, Mega Lopunny, Porygon-Z, and Custap Manaphy. Toxic makes Mega Charizard Y more reliable against stall Pokemon such as Mega Slowbro, and Toxic + Substitute usually wins against Mega Altaria. Flame Charge allows Mega Charizard Y to reliably defeat SubSeed users such as Jumpluff and Serperior.
EVs
=============
The HP investment allows Mega Charizard Y to survive Choice Specs Greninja's Hydro Cannon in sun. Maximum Special Attack helps with damage rolls into various targets, such as Meloetta, Mega Slowbro, Togekiss, and Kyurem-B, but may be moved to Speed to help with opposing Mega Charizard Y, Smeargle, and non-Assault Vest Landorus-T.
An alternative spread of 252 HP / 152 SpA / 104 SpD and a Modest nature may be used for Manaphy and Choice Scarf Volcanion. The HP and Special Defense allow Mega Charizard Y to survive 3 Steam Eruptions from Volcanion and +3 Hyper Beam from Manaphy. The rest of the EVs go into Special Attack for damage rolls against Mega Slowbro, Manaphy, and Volcanion.
Mega Charizard Y may also opt for maximum Speed and Special Attack if the neither benchmark is required.
Usage Tips
=============
Usually, Mega Charizard Y is simple to use; Blast Burn does insane damage and will be used against most targets, while Solar Beam should be usually be used immediately when it is super effective, such as against Manaphy and Greninja.
Air Slash helps chip foes into range of another attack; Air Slash into Blast Burn KOes Togekiss while Air Slash into Solar Beam KOes Crustle and Aggron. All of these matchups require the opponent to flinch, so they are very unreliable. Air Slash also helps versus Whimsicott, since it OHKOes Whimsicott and, unlike Blast Burn, does not have a recharge turn.
Flame Charge should be used turn 1 versus SubSeed users; it breaks a potential Substitute and allows Mega Charizard Y to KO them turn 2 after the Speed boost.
Endure has various use cases. Against faster Pokemon such as Giga Impact Lopunny, Hydro Cannon Greninja, Hyper Beam Manaphy, and Porygon-Z, Endure forces foes to recharge while Mega Charizard Y is free to OHKO them. Versus Mega Lopunny, Mega Charizard Y should use Endure turn 2, as Mega Lopunny will use Fake Out turn 1. Mega Charizard Y should only use Endure versus Torrent Greninja after its Petaya Berry activates, since it will otherwise survive Hydro Cannon. In addition to this, it also forces Aggron to take recoil from Head Smash, breaking Sturdy so Mega Charizard Y can KO with Solar Beam.

Other Options
=============
Inferno defeats Amnesia Mew, Hidden Power Electric defeats non-Stone Edge Mega Gyarados, and Will-O-Wisp helps versus some physical attackers, as well as most Mega Altaria. All of these options are fairly narrow in scope, so they don't see much use.
