Grass Monotype (First RMT)

Hey there, I've been playing pokemon showdown for a few months now and finally decided to step up to the challenge of making a Grass Monotype team that actually competes on the competitive ladder...so-far it has been somewhat unsuccessful, so I've come here, for advice and constructive criticism.

EDIT: Changes will be done in red, when made, credit will also be given.

Team at a glance:

The team building process:

I started off with a Breloom to use as a strong lead (wha? ferro not lead, you'll see ;P) because I've used Breloom before in OU and had a set that worked wonders on it as a lead, which is generally quite hard to counter once set up.

Next up I added a Ludicolo for a strong offensive leech seed set, compared to the defensive sub-seed set I run on Breloom.

Sceptile then joined the crew as a specs special attacker, seeing as I had nobody to do those one-hit wonders that this team really needed, I used to use a flying gem -> acrobatics set, but that didn't work as well for me.

I needed a scarfer that could hit hard with a large and widespread move pool, Virizion took the cake for me there with a good base speed stat and was bulkier than the average scarfer, he gave a good mix or speed, damage and durability.

I had no actual walls that didn't need setup, so I added Celebi as a special wall for this team who aims to out-stall the opposing staller/wall by using toxic/leech seed.

I had a good hard look at this team and realized one flaw, no physical wall to tank some hits that might otherwise OHKO someone else, I chose Ferrothorn for his brilliant Defensive typing and his stellar stats coupled with the generous offensive typing that a Steel/Grass gives, although I don't use him as a staller/wall...hehehe

Honestly, Ludicolo wasn't working out for me, so I decided to go with a Lilligant instead, but this Lilligant is a non-sun user, she isn't self sufficient for her sun, She generally shines when I'm going up against a fire team or another grass team, for everything else, there's Quiver Dance.

Intermission....
so, here I go..

Toadstool (Breloom) @ Toxic Orb
Life_Orb_Sprite.png

Trait: Poison Heal
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Def / 248 HP / 8 Atk
Impish Nature
- Focus Punch
- Leech Seed
- Spore
- Substitute

Here is my Breloom, I generally use this pokemon as my lead so that he can get the setup that he needs.
More often than not, he doesn't get OHKO by many leads, and can then spore to force a switch, which gives him a free turn to substitute. What happens when I go against a ghost team? Well, that is probably the only situation in which I wouldn't bother to lead with this Breloom as his only (real) damaging move is Focus Punch.
He is one of my stars of the team, occasionally making people forfeit games after I've only sent him out.

Princess Peach (Lilligant) @ Lum Berry
Life_Orb_Sprite.png

Trait: Chlorophyll
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Modest Nature
- Hidden Power [Rock]
- Quiver Dance
- Sleep Powder
- Giga Drain

This Lilligant is one of my main sweepers when it pays off, recently I've been going up against far more Mono Bug teams than normal, so she hasn't been as effective as of late, but this Quiver Dance set leaves her to do atrocious amounts of damage when I can pull it off, although I'm finding that she gets heavily walled by SpDef Heatran if the opponent has another pokemon asleep from the likes of Breloom.

Basil Brush (Sceptile) (M) @ Choice Specs
Life_Orb_Sprite.png

Trait: Overgrow
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Giga Drain
- Focus Blast
- Leaf Storm
- Hidden Power [Rock]

This is my main SpAtk-er when Lilligant doesn't have a clear cue to go and set up, Sceptile has an excellent base 120 speed with a stellar SpAtk stat, which leaves little to be desired (sturdy for ability? anyone?).
Focus Blast is almost entirely there to beat up Heatran as he is a nuisance to this team. Often Sceptile acts as my late-game sweeper, coming in when things are battered and beaten to finish them off with a Specs boosted [STAB] Leaf Storm.

Life_Orb_Sprite.png
Steve (Virizion) @ Choice Scarf
Life_Orb_Sprite.png

Trait: Justified
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Close Combat
- Leaf Blade
- Stone Edge
- Aerial Ace

Virizion is my scarfer of my team, in this team I enjoy boasting 3 speed freaks in Sceptile, Quiver Dancing Lilligant and Scarfed Virizion. Virizon has probably the most coverage on this team, and use him as a lead when it seems favorable if the enemy teams lead counters Breloom hard. I gave him aerial ace as 4th move, I didn't really need anything else and decided on that because it can beat those pesky bugs like Heracross that shrug off Stone Edge with ease.

Life_Orb_Sprite.png
Navi (Celebi) @ Leftovers
Life_Orb_Sprite.png

Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 220 SDef / 36 Spd
Calm Nature
- Recover
- Toxic
- Leech Seed
- Psychic

For Celebi, I needed, and therefore ran, a Special Defensive set, focusing on stalling out opponents with Leech Seeds and toxic. The reason that I have Psychic added onto the end there is just for an offensive move that can at least do some damage to most opponents, but it's not really a needed move as Recover is the general move used after they've been toxic'd and/or Leech Seeded.

Life_Orb_Sprite.png
The Fez (Ferrothorn) @ Choice Band
Life_Orb_Sprite.png

Trait: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Brave Nature
IVs: 0 Spd
- Power Whip
- Gyro Ball
- Facade
- Bulldoze

Ferrothorn. When he is sent out, almost all opponents thing that he's going to try to set up and stall with Leech Seed and Thunder Wave, those people have another thing coming as they get hit in the face with a Choice Band powered Gyro Ball, which, with extremely low speed hits unbelievably hard, often OHKOing most enemies. Choice band Ferrothorn hits very hard, and is usually unexpected whilst maintaining copious amounts of bulk and defense, often withstanding many hits that don't come from some of the tyranical threats in the game with powerful fighting moves, or just any joe bloggs with a flamethrower.

Just as a side note, I would like to thank everyone for reading this and I would like to accept any and all constructive criticism about this team and their sets. Keep in mind that this is my first real RMT that I actually put any effort into, so I don't really know how it stands to the 'meta' of RMTs. Thanks.
