Grookey @ Grassy Seed
Ability: Grassy Surge
Level: 5
EVs: 236 Atk / 36 Def / 236 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Grassy Glide
- Acrobatics
- Drain Punch
- Swords Dance

Grassy Seed Grookey is one of the most potent offensive threats in LC, able sweep at the drop of a hat with its ample coverage! Utilizing Grassy Seed in conjunction with Grassy Surge to gain a Defense boost, this Grookey set is able to grab a Swords Dance and easily sweep late-game using Grassy Glide after opposing walls have been sufficiently chipped. Because Grassy Seed is immediately used, Acrobatics has 110 Base Power, letting Grookey beat Grass-types that would otherwise wall it such as Foongus and the rarer Morelull and Pumpkaboo. Drain Punch lets Grookey hit Steel-types like Pawniard and Ferroseed for super effective damage. Grookey's ability to pressure Ground- and Water-types like Choice Scarf Mudbray and Carvanha makes it a good partner to Pokemon like Ponyta and Tyrunt; they also pressure Grookey's checks like Koffing and Natu. Diglett is another great partner, as it traps problematic foes like Ponyta. Entry hazard support from Dwebble and Pawniard also helps Grookey sweep by chipping bulkier foes into range of its attacks.

Grookey is one of the most potent offensive threats in LC, being able to revenge kill other offensive Pokemon and sweep at the drop of a hat! (Rewrite this sentence to be more specific to the Grassy Seed set) This grass monkey is one of the main reasons fairies have dropped out of the metagame, as most teams' fighting check must also check Grookey. (Fluff) Utilizing Grassy Seed in conjunction with its ability to gain a Defense boost, this Grookey set is able to grab a Swords Dance and easily sweep lategame using Grassy Glide after opposing walls have been sufficiently chipped. Because Grassy Seed is immediately used, Acrobatics becomes its full base power of 110; letting Grookey hit Grass- and Poison-types for high damage. (Provide at least 2 examples of things Acrobatics hits, e.g Foongus) Drain Punch lets Grookey hit Steel-types like Pawniard and Ferroseed for super effective damage, meaning they are no longer able to wall it. (More fluff) Grookey's ability to pressure Ground- and Water-types like Choice Scarf Mudbray and Carvanha makes Grookey a good partner to Pokemon like Ponyta and Tyrunt. (Mention that these Pokemon can pressure Grookey's checks as well) Diglett is another great partner, trapping problematic foes like Ponyta. Entry Hazard support from Dwebble or Pawniard also helps Grookey sweep by chipping bulkier foes into range of its attacks.
