Gravity/ Trick Room VGC Team

Description
As my first non-goodstuffs team, I have been learning how to use this unorthodox team to catch my opponent off guard. There are still significant flaws; my goal is to eliminate these.

The Team

Reuniclus @Life Orb

Ability: Magic Guard
EV Spread: 252 SpA/ 172 HP/ 56 SpD/ 28 Def
IVs: 0 Spe
Nature: Quiet(+SpA,-Spe)
-Trick Room
-Gravity
-Focus Blast
-Psychic

Reuniclus is my main Trick Room/ Gravity user. The EV Spread rounds out the strange teddy bear for decent bulk and high special attack. Life orb is an excellent item due to Magic Guard, preventing recoil. Psychic is for a good STAB attack, while Focus Blast provides good coverage with 100% accuracy under gravity.

Amoonguss @Mental Herb

Ability: Effect Spore
EV Spread: 252 HP/ 252 SpD/ 4 Def
IVs: 0 Spe
Nature: Sassy(+SpD,-Spe)
-Rage Powder
-Spore
-Giga Drain
-Protect

This bulky mushroom was the perfect support partner for Reuniclus. The EVs provide maximum special defense, reducing damage from Flamethrower, Psychic, Hidden Power, etc. Mental Herb prevents Taunt from ruining Amoonguss. Rage Powder almost completely ensures that I get Trick Room up, allowing me to use gravity the following turn. Spore is to render the opposing Pokémon helpless for multiple turns. Giga Drain allows healing and provides STAB, while Protect provides immunity to my team's earthquake. Also, this can allow a partner to eliminate any opposing threats.

Regice @Chople Berry

Ability: Clear Body
EV Spread: 252 SpA/ 160 Def/ 96 HP
IVs: 0 Spe
Nature: Quiet(+SpA,-Spe)
-Gravity
-Blizzard
-Thunder
-Focus Blast

The often-forgotten golem is a great special wall with good offensive capabilities. The EVs allow Regice to take more physical damage than most sets. Chople Berry provides it with an important reduction in damage from a fighting type attack. Gravity can be set up if Reuniclus never gets to, or if Gravity has expired. Blizzard and Thunder provide BoltBeam coverage, except more powerful. Plus, they have perfect accuracy under Gravity! Focus Blast can hit steel types hard, especially Magnezone. There are no Pokémon that cannot be hit by this set for at least neutral damage!

Bronzong @Sitrus Berry

Ability: Heatproof
EV Spread: 252 HP/ 168 Def/ 88 SpD
IVs: 0 Spe
Nature: Relaxed (+Def,-Spe)
-Gyro Ball
-Hypnosis
-Earthquake
-Trick Room

This is usually my backup Trick Room setter. The EVs give a lot of defense, especially since my team has more special defense overall. The sitrus Berry increases its longevity. Gyro Ball provides a decent STAB attack. Hypnosis gains 100% accuracy under Gravity, and can put both opposing Pokémon to sleep in conjunction with Amoonguss's Spore. Earthquake can hit any Pokémon under Gravity, while packing a decent punch. Trick Room is self-explanatory.

Donphan @Leftovers

Ability: Sturdy
EV Spread: 252 Atk/ 180 SpD/ 76 HP
IVs: 0 Spe
Nature: Brave (+Atk,-Spe)
- Seed Bomb
- Earthquake
- Ice Shard
- Rock Slide

With 120 base attack, Donphan is a potent sweeper. The EVs help increase its underwhelming special defense, while maximizing attack. Leftovers help it stay alive for a longer time, not much else to say. Seed Bomb helps with coverage over many Pokémon that it may have trouble with otherwise. Earthquake is great under Gravity, hitting Zapdos, Thundurus, Skarmory, and others very effectively. Ice Shard gets +1 priority, while also hitting many Pokémon for 2x or 4x normal damage. Rock Slide tears apart Volcarona, Yanmega, etc. with a chance to flinch.

634.gif

Zweilous @Eviolite

Ability: Hustle
EV Spread: 252 Atk/ 248 HP/ 4 SpD/ 4 Def
IVs: 0 Spe
Nature: Brave (+Atk,-Spe)
-Outrage
-Fire Fang
-Crunch
-Protect

This two-headed beast might be the most underrated Eviolite user in the whole game. With Hustle, it boasts the equivalent of about 152 base attack, which is not to be taken lightly. The EVs provide respectable bulk and maximum attack. Eviolite boosts its mediocre defenses to make it somewhat bulky. Zweilous also posses the most powerful Outrage in the whole game. Although unpredictable, many Pokémon will fall to it. Fire Fang can hit steel types that would otherwise wall it for super effective damage, including the pesky Scizor. Crunch is a good STAB move that can destroy many psychic and ghost types. Finally, Protect allows it to scout or prevent damage from my team's Earthquakes.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, as it is my first RMT. Any suggestions are gladly accepted and will be considered!

While I'm not the best, I can already see a few problems. You don't have a single Pokemon that can take hits from bug, so Volcarona, Genesect, and Scizor might have a field day with you. You also have no resistances to ground, which, considering the prevalence of Earthquake, is a recipe for disaster. You've got three fire weaknesses, only one resistance, and...

This site will help you with those problems.

As for how to actually solve them, I'd try switching Zweilous out with Eelektross. He solves your ground problem better than Zweilous does, and solves your bug problem handily while presenting no weaknesses to the team. He can use Dragon Claw if you really need a Dragon move, Fire Punch for the aforementioned Scizor, his STAB (Thunder Punch or Wild Charge) doesn't lock you in to a single move, he doesn't have a -20% accuracy, and you won't be sacrificing too much damage, especially if you opt to run Coil to boost his attack. If Coil isn't your thing, you can run Crunch on him as well, or opt for recovery through Drain Punch.

I wish I could help more, but I know how much it sucks to get no help at all, so hopefully this makes your day a little better. :)

I appreciate the help a lot, but notice how two are weak to fire because of Bronzong's Heatproof. Also, under gravity, Levitate's effects are nullified completely, so Eelektross's ability would not help the team. I am thinking about swapping Bronzong for Sableye so that I can taunt anything non-Prankster first. I have tested this team and my Pokemon Showdown rating has been steadily increasing with a rating past 1600. I can also handle Volcarona well with a OHKO from Rock Slide, and Scizor is taken care of by Fire Fang. Thanks for the advice; it sucked when the page had over 150 views and no replies! :)
