Green-Cheese-Storm Re-Molded!

Haldo! It is I Macc the Cheesemage looking for advice for my newly altered Pokemon team. I would greatly appreciate whatever advice you can give. Oh and I am also looking for people to play against so please send me a private message and we can exchange friend codes to battle sometime in the future! Without further adieu here's my team...

Bottomless
the Hippowdon

Hiphopopotamus-vs-Rhymenoceros.jpg

Bottomless: #450 Hippowdon, Impish,Rindo Berry
252 HP / 168 Def / 88 SpD
(Earthquake) (Stealth Rock) (Slack Off) (Roar)

Bottomless is my hiphopopotamus her lyrics are much like her name...
She leads off my team setting up Sand Storm *Cheese Storm* and Stealth Rock on the first turn *usually*. Earthquake is a self explanatory STAB. She used to have Ice Fang, but I choose Roar over that, because of my team's lack of phazing. I found Calm Minding and Dragon Dancing Pokemon to be very annoying after having shoddy battled with the many variations of this team.

As far as Switch ins go Bottomless will Switch to Either Geno, F-Type, or Hinawa, because of their resistances / lack of weakness to Bottomless's three weakness's of Water, Grass and Ice. Only if it is clear that I can switch in Togera do to the absence of Water *Among other things* would I use them as a switch in for Bottomless.

Hinawa
the Blissey

Hinawa: #242 Blissey, Calm, Serene Grace, Lucky Punch
252 Def / 80 SpA / 176 SpD
(Ice Beam) (Thunder) (Wish) (Protect)

Hinawa is a loving mother who gives care and support to her children as well as my Pokemon! Ice Beam is useful for hitting some flying type pokemon, but especially for dragons like Salamence. Although Hinawa isn't a Dragon counter I find that Ice Beam is pretty fawesome. Thunder is in place of the traditional Thunder Wave, because of its ability to deal dmg. Although the accuracy is bad, it is very effective if it hits and I like to take on those odds! I chose Serene Grace, because I don't mind my opponent using their sleep move on her *if we are playing by the sleep clause*. Everyone likes Hinawa's famous Omelettes! <,<; Protect is an obvious combo with Wish... Since Hinawa no longer has Aromatherapy or Natural she is really open to status, but yet again she won't be trying to out stall her competition or stay in too long. She will either blow up a switch in or wish pass and GTFO / be KOed! I decided to give Hinawa Lucky Punch, because a 2 stage increase to crit rate is pretty amazing. Also because any focus punch / dedicated physical Fighting type attack will KO Hinawa regardless of whether or not she had a Chople Berry. Oh, and You can call this style of Blissey the Cheesemage set :D! Ohhhhh yeah!

Hinawa's best switch in is F-Type, because of its immunity to fighting type attacks, which is Hinawa's only weakness aside from powerful physical attacks. Geno, Bottomless and Onion Kid seem somewhat viable being neutral to fighting type attacks, but yet again it comes down to what the opposing Pokemon is...

Geno
the Jirachi

geno_whirl_by_brandokay.jpg

Geno: #385 Jirachi, Impish, Choice Scarf
80 HP / 252 Atk / 176 Spe
(Iron Head) (Body Slam) (U-Turn) (Trick)

Geno possessed this Jirachi in order to stall the competition and bring headache with his paralysis and stunning moves. Iron Head is Geno's main form of STAB as well as his most used move. Despite Geno almost having a complete lead Jirachi set I don't use him to lead, because people expect leading Jirachi to Trick or Iron Head right off the bat to prevent stealth rock / healing for bulkers... I don't care about stealth rock, because every Pokemon on my team can take it without weakness! Huzzah! I hate Trick and Choice Items with a passion, but I found out the hard way that I need it and the Choice Scarf to help Geno take care of threats like Subseeding Breloom and Mixed Infernape, which have the ability to sweep my team with little effort. Body Slam is for spreading Paralysis should I feel cocky enough to not use Iron Head or after Geno has tricked away his Choice Scarf. With this new set I think my team is a little more balanced having a physical sweeper as well as a fast Pokemon while Geno is holding onto his scarf. Oh and Geno wanted me to tell you that if he doesn't get in the next Smash Bros he is going to blow up Japan!

Switch ins would be F Type or Bottomless unless there are reasons to do otherwise...

F Type the Cut Rotom

F Type: #479 Cut Rotom, Bold, Chesto Berry
252 HP / 76 Def / 180 SpD
(Charge Beam) (Leaf Storm) (Hidden Power Fire) (Rest)

He's not very fast, but he's furious and as the non Pokemon Golem likes to say "Tricksey!" One of my best counters for Scizor and Gyarados, F Type has a lot of options at its disposal. Charge Beam can one shot a bulky Gyarados after Stealth Rock and Sandstorm Dmg. Hidden Power Fire is meant to surprise Scizor or Forretress. Hopefully allowing me to prevent Spikes being set up! I tend to punish a lot of steel types with this set, because it is relatively unorthodox to not just get Over Heat and Heat Rotom. Leaf Storm is for Swampert / if F Type had a lot of boosts. :D Lastly, Rest is to heal F Type back to full or remove status should a need arise. I will also be relying on Cleric(ing) should F Type rest again once he he has used up the Chesto Berry.

I adore the synergy F Type shares with Hinawa in the fact that they are immune to things that target each other's most common weakness... F type may provoke ghost type attacks which creates a nice switch into Hinawa and vice versa with Hinawa to F Type due to his immunity to fighting and normal type moves like Explosion or Focus Punch! Also, Hinawa tends to allow F Type additional rests after his Chesto Berry has expired through her Aromatherapy. Fawesome, I know!

Togera the Tyranitar

589060-art06_large.jpg

Togera: #248 Tyranitar, Quite, Expert Belt
252 HP / 52 Atk / 176 SpA / 28 Spe
(Dark Pulse) (Focus Punch) (Fire Blast) (Substitute)

Last, but surely not least is the big dinosaur Kaiju himself Togera! He's fun for his summoning of Sandstorm aka my Cheese Storm which will aid his KOing potential. I wanted my Togera to have coverage for wall breaking as well as mixed attacks... So, Dark Pulse is his STAB, which is meant to take down Cresselia. Focus Punch is meant to ruin Blissey and Fire Blast for Skarmory. Substitute is self explanatory considering Togera runs the Tyraniboa set... However, I don't get the point of the 52 Atk evs and they aren't explained in the Strategy Dex. Can someone please explain why I shouldn't allocate the 52 Atk Evs into SpA or Spe? I want people to go AAAAAAAAAAHHHHH IT'S TOGERA!!! Instead of ah, its Togera with the useless atk evs. <,<; Oh and Ahh skeet, skeet, skeet, skeet, skeet!

Switch ins / outs are tough for Togera, because of his large amount of weakness's, but F Type seems the most viable for the situations I have encountered...

Adramelech the Dragonite

adrammelech.jpg

Adramelech: #149 Dragonite, Calm, Leftovers
252 HP / 98 Def / 104 SpD / 56 Spe
(Draco Meteor) (Thunder Wave) (Heal Bell) (Roost)

This slot on my team has been fought over by many Green Pokemon such as a Celebi which I like to call Onion Kid. Onion Kid and Adramelech serve the same purpose except Adramelch loses coverage for better resistances and more specific weaknesses. Onion Kid had Hidden Power Ice and Grass Knot, which changed up F Type's moves, but having a Celebi made my team more weak to Infernape and Lucario and I don't want to make beating me too easy! ;) This set couldn't be any more standard or stolen, but it wasn't broke when I found it so there was no point for me to... Well, yah know... Thunder Wave is good for Paralysis which is one of the most important things for making my opponent's pokemon slower than mine and allowing me to dominate! The rest is explained very well the Strategy Dex since this is the Support Dragonite with a seemingly more useful EV spread. What is odd about this set is the fact that I haven't tried Support Dragonite without Light Screen, because that is the only way to efficiently surivive Ice type attacks. Thunderwave is a must, because going first for Roost will make it possible for Dragonite to stall his many threats / help out my team. I was told Dragon Pulse is the wisest for Bulky Waters, but I'm pretty sure without Light Screen Adramelech can't wall bulky waters anymore due to their Ice attacks, which they always carry! So... I am trying to decide between Draco Meteor and Dragon Claw... For now, lets say I picked Draco Meteor.

Adramelech finds himself switching in to take special threats like Gengar and Heatran. Unless their trainer is malicious enough to have Hidden Power Ice for some reason... Adramelech also tends to take Surf for Bottomless, but mostly its a good special wall all around in compensation for what Hinawa lacks.

To qoute myself verbatum from my previous Green-Cheese-Storm... <,<;

"That's my team. It uses paralysis to slow down my opponent's Pokemon then it takes the team out one by one while getting support from Hinawa for status and Geno for Wish. Sand Storm is also an important theme to this team. Over half of the team is immune to taking dmg from sandstorm and the other three can take it, because of their held items or they are bulky as #@(*!@. The amount of resistances and immunities this team packs as a whole is amazing and it punishes my opponents for going for SUPER EFFECTIVE attacks too often, it also allows me to switch with ease. Another bonus is that there is almost no weakness to Rock *I'm looking at you Adramelech!* so switching won't be too much of a problem for my team assuming they don't have to deal with Spikes / Toxic Spikes. Lastly, the team name is derived from the fact that I am the master of all cheese, 4 of the pokemon on the team have a greenish color and that Sand Storm is one of the main themes...

All in all I think this has been the best team I have put together thus far, but I know there has to be room for improvement. I am somewhat inexperienced with competitive battling, but I hope the knowledge I have gained from this Univesity of Smog has helped me create something that is at least workable! This team was designed to play by all of the normal Smogon rules like sleep clause and the occasional item clause. I don't know if there is a same move or name clause out there somewhere, but as you can notice there are different moves for each of my Pokemon and each has a different beginning letter of their name! :D I cannot credit myself for all of the movesets or Evs, because they were inspired from the Strategy Dex. I also cannot claim credit for any picture used in this RMT thread. Speaking of pictures... You may have already got it by now, but the pictures are of the characters/things I nicknamed my Pokemon after and they were found through google... I can claim however, that I came up with what I am calling the Cheesemage set for Hinawa my Blissey as well as F Type my Rotom's set, which doesn't really have a name...

Thanks you so much for reading and your possible comments!"

Macc the Cheesemage~

24+ hr bump! It's really sad that this got pushed back with no views or comments... I want whatever advice I can get, because I feel that this team is ready to be made and the last thing I want to do is to make a mistake on the evs or moves. I think the synergy is pretty decent and the coverage / ability to deal with all the OU threats is also pretty good. So I'm really not sure if there is anything else I can do to improve it, but everyone makes mistakes so please help me out!

Thank you for your time! :D

Sorry but this isn't the rate you wanted. Just a quick note that blissey shouldn't have serene grace as the ablility to take status is far better and this will cause blissey to lose to other stall poke. Lefties is also much better because really, what are you doing to infernape after cc that makes chople berry so useful. And Blissey can be taken down by a non-SE physical attack so that just bypasses your berry. Also I can see sub punch gengar being a problem as he bypasses blissey and rotom and can take Ttar out and threaten jirachi with HP fire. GL

Having play tested Natural Cure a lot, I didn't find it to be all that useful. Blissey could stay in and Aromatherapy Toxic or whatever status off fairly well. I also enjoy the fact that she can stay slept so my other team members can take advantage of the Breloom or whatever else slept her. Chople Berry does fail to take close combat or focus punches, but it can help Blissey survive a Gengar's Focus Blast and it allows my team to abide by the same item rule. In my experience, having to switch out with Blissey to remove status tore her up more often than not and I like to force my opponent to switch rather than having to switch myself. Blissey will lose in a stall battle against another Blissey, but she's never my last Pokemon for that very reason.

As far as a sub punch Gengar... I have yet to see one, but I don't think it's that threatening since its subtitutes will be easy to break. Or I would roar it away should my Hippowdon be out. That doesn't mean that some crazy mofo with a Sub Punch Gengar that happens to have Hidden Power Fire and Energy Ball couldn't beat my team. To be completely honest, that sounds like a scarier version of Infernape, but I have yet to play someone like that and seem to doubt I will. Surprise is an important factor of the game and I think my Cheesemage Blissey does just that. The rest of my team is fairly standard, but I've won simply because the majority of my opponents assumed I had a Natural Cure Blissey.

All in all I value the reply you gave me very much and I don't want to seem like I disregarded it. It was good advice, but I feel like my reasons were justified. They just aren't the most efficient. I think that gives me an edge, because I like to play a little crazy even if it is seemingly idiotic!

Speaking of Semi-Idiotic... I have begun play-testing Lucky Punch on my Cheesemage Blissey!

Thank you very much! :D

72+ hr bump and beyond! I have made some dramatic changes to how the team plays and unfortunately, I have gotten stuck making new changes. So, this thread will reflect that till I am done testing. Or, if you have advice / a team rate for me I would greatly appreciate it! Thank you for your time yet again!
