Real Shit
I wanted to optimize my first team around Meowscarada becauseI’m furry trash it’s easily my favorite mon introduced in Scarlet and Violet. This team took quite a few different forms, but as series 1 draws to a close, I’d like to share my final version.

As you can see, extremely offensive squad that relies on making accurate and aggressive reads to maintain a lead.

CIRCUS CONTRAPTION (Meowscarada) @ Choice Band
Ability: Protean
Level: 50
Tera Type: Grass
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Flower Trick
- Knock Off
- Low Kick
- U-turn
Banded Meowscarada is something I was excited to try since day 1, and I’m happy to say it did not disappoint. There’s really not much to say about this set, everything is fairly self explanatory, STABs, U-turn for pivoting, and then Low Kick is for Kingambit. Highly effective as a lead, cleaner, or just a general attacker.

THICC BOYS (Dragonite) @ Lum Berry ———
Ability: Multiscale
Level: 50
Tera Type: Normal
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Outrage
- Extreme Speed
- Earthquake
Dragonite is a must have for almost any Series 1 team. The amount of things this mon is capable of is just nuts. This team is using the fairly basic Extreme Speed set. Tera Normal Dragonite is one of the most efficient cleaners around, and is a natural fit on such a fast paced team. Once ghost types are cleared, this set can come in and run rampant. Earthquake hits almost every non Corviknight normal resist for big damage, and Outrage is a second cleaning option that also allows Dragonite to do a bit of wallbreaking thanks to its raw power. Lum Berry compliments this set beautifully, allowing Dragonite to set up with impunity against almost anything.

PENNY PINCHER (Gholdengo) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Good as Gold
Level: 50
Tera Type: Flying
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Shadow Ball
- Make It Rain
- Trick
- Nasty Plot
Gholdengo is easily one of the very best Pokémon introduced in generation 9. With an impeccable typing, great stats, and one of the most absurd abilities we have ever seen, it is almost tailor made to be one of offense teams’ best assets. With a choice scarf, gholdengo just barely outspeeds Dragapult, which is a huge deal, as this allows it to use its high natural power much more consistently. In the event that you face a bulkier team, Gholdengo is able to trick its scarf away and boost up with nasty plot. Assisting in this is our choice of Tera Type, flying. By becoming a Flying-type, gholdengo is able to lock things like Clodsire into Earthquke and abuse them for completely free setup. Additionally, the prevalence of Fissure Dondozo gives Gholdengo multiple potential trick targets to abuse, and with its STABs covering so much alone, Gholdengo isn’t really lacking in coverage.

PAIN ENGINE (Annihilape) @ Covert Cloak ———
Ability: Vital Spirit
Level: 50
Tera Type: Flying
EVs: 252 HP / 228 SpD / 28 Spe
Careful Nature
- Taunt
- Bulk Up
- Rage Fist
- Drain Punch
My beloved Monke. Annihilape is a stall breaker extraordinaire. For this set, I chose to invest in Special Defense primarily, giving Annihilape enough bulk to avoid the 2 hit KO from a Specs Hydreigon’s Dark Pulse. Covert Cloak offers us many benefits, aside from eliminating the worries of an ill timed flinch or SpD drop, Cloak allows Annihilape to completely abuse Garganacl as setup fodder. Alongside taunt and Rage Fist, Annihilape is easily capable of snowballing completely out of control against stall teams if played properly, and can even perform well against specially based offense, preventing setup and punching massive holes with boosted rage fists. Tera flying is used to avoid Fissure spam from cheesing past Annihilape, allowing it to set up with impunity against garganacl.

MATADOR (Tauros-Paldea-Fire) @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
Level: 50
Tera Type: Fairy
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Impish Nature
- Raging Bull
- Body Press
- Will-O-Wisp
- Rock Tomb
With the popularity and threat level of Kingambit, it is pretty necessary for offensive teams to have a stop to it, and Paldean Tauros is one of the best. Will-O-Wisp is an immensely difficult move to switch in to, and allows Tauros to soften physical blows for its teammates as well as itself. Raging Bull’s screen shattering effect may not always come into play, but against teams that want to utilize screens it is invaluable. Turning the tides nearly instantaneously. Body Press allows Tauros to dish out strong Fighting STAB without the drawbacks of Close Combat, and Rock Tomb allows it to keep things like Baxcalibur, Dragonite and Volcarona at bay, ensuring a teammate can finish them off afterward.

Ability: Analytic
Level: 50
Tera Type: Flying
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Thunderbolt
- Flash Cannon
- Volt Switch
- Tera Blast
We’re not cave men! Magnezone provides an excellent wall breaker and pivot, its main use is keeping Dondozo from getting too comfortable, however it is also immensely threatening to the likes of Gholdengo, Rotom-W, Dragonite, Corviknight, and Skeledirge to name but a few. Flash Cannon is invaluable secondary STAB for punishing the ground types that may try to absorb Thunderbolt or Volt switch, and Flying Tera Blast allows Magnezone to punish surprise Grass Teras.

That’s the team, fairy simple, but quite effective. Give it a try if you’d like, I've been having quite a lot of fun with it myself :)
