Nidoking (King Osohe) (Male)
Nature: Rash
Type:

Poison: Poison STAB; immunity to Poison/Toxic status. Absorb Toxic Spikes on switch-in unless Flying-typed or using the ability Levitate. -- Accuracy when using Toxic, Poison Gas, or Poison Powder, hitting even during Dig, Fly, etc. Ignore Fog's accuracy reduction. Store Command.

Store Command: For the next six (6) actions, this Pokemon's moves will have their poison / toxic effect chance double. Type Exclusive commands can only be used by Pokemon that are naturally that type, and are still available if the Pokemon changes type.

Command Type: Type Exclusive | Accuracy: -- | Energy Cost: 5 | Priority: 0 | CT: None

Ground: Ground STAB; immune to Sandstorm. Ignores Arena restrictions on Dig and Seismic Attacks for Arenas in which any land mass exists, Evasive Digging reduced from 6 per action Energy Cost to 5 per action.

Abilities:
Poison Point
:
Type: Toggle
By default, this Pokemon's spikes/quills/thorns are coated in poison, and there is a 30% chance of poisoning any foe that uses a contact attack on this Pokemon. When toggled, this Pokemon's natural toxins are more potent. As a result, all of this Pokemon's attacks that inflict regular poison will inflict Toxic poison instead (with the same chance of effect).

Rivalry :
Type: Passive
This Pokemon has a primal response to competition and mating, increasing the Base Attack Power of all its attacks by two (2) when it attacks an opponent of the same gender, and decreasing the power of all its attacks by two (2) when it attacks an opponent of the opposite gender.

Sheer Force:

Type: Toggle

No default effect. When toggled, this Pokemon can energize all its attacks with a secondary effect (These are damaging moves that either lower the target's stats, raise the user's stats, or inflict a status condition on the target). The Base Attack Power of every move with a secondary effect increases by two (2), but they will never have their usual secondary effect.

Pokemon with this ability: Nidoqueen, Nidoking, Krabby, Kingler, Tauros, Totodile, Croconaw, Feraligatr, Steelix, Makuhita, Hariyama, Mawile, Trapinch, Bagon, Cranidos, Rampardos, Timburr, Gurdurr, Conkeldurr, Darmanitan, Druddigon, Rufflet, Braviary, Landorus.

If Ludicolo is under the effects of a successful p/e move when you would act, target Politoed with Thunder that action and push back.
If Ludicolo is not a Normal-type and not a Water-type and not a Grass-type and not a Flying-type and not an Ice-type and not a Psychic-type and not a Dark-type and not a Dragon-type and not a Fairy-type and not a Bug-type when you would act, use Earth Power (Ludicolo) that action instead.
If one of your targets has fainted when you would act, target your other foe with Thunder.

Steelix:

Double Edge (Ludicolo) - Double Edge (Ludicolo) (Ludicolo)
If it is raining when you would act and you are not targeted by Encore on the following action and Rain Dance is not set to be used during the round and Drizzle [Command] is not set to be used on the following action, use Sandstorm that action.
If your target is under the effects of a successful p/e move when you would act, target your other foe.
If your target is under the effects of the evasive stage of a successful d/e move when you would act, target your other foe.
If your target has fainted when you would act, target your other foe.

*shrugs*

this sub "If it is raining when you would act and you are not targeted by Encore on the following action and Rain Dance is not set to be used during the round and Drizzle [Command] is not set to be used on the following action, use Sandstorm that action." is illegal btw. Breaks the "In each sub, each action (Action 1, Action 2, Prior action, This action, etc.) can only have one attack clause per Pokémon." rule. I count at least 2 attack-clauses for Politoed regarding "following action" (since only it can encore or drizzle).Regardless since Rain Dance is directed at both moves at all round, you can consider 3 moves for the same mon and the same action, which breaks the above rule twice -_-.

So this might soak you up a little bit.

*shrugs*

this sub "If it is raining when you would act and you are not targeted by Encore on the following action and Rain Dance is not set to be used during the round and Drizzle [Command] is not set to be used on the following action, use Sandstorm that action." is illegal btw.

Ludicolo [ACTIVATE BERSERK GENE]: Surf - Surf
Politoed [Drizzle]: Surf - Surf
It was meant to be a dummy sub, although I realize now that it would have been better to commit one way or the other.

Nidoking:

Back-alley Beating (Sucker Punch + Quash [Politoed]) - Cooldown (Sucker Punch [Ludicolo])

Steelix:

Double-Edge + Earthquake - Cooldown (Earthquake)
If Double Edge + Earthquake is deemed infeasible, use Earthquake + Earthquake that action instead.

Just off the top of my head (I can elaborate more if necessary):

Sucker Punch is an ambush attack, flavored in ASB as a quick strike. A strike is a very loose term for an attack, as even a quick hold or other action could be labeled as "striking." It is aligned with the elemental darkness, to the extent of acquiring a "set" combo priority. Quash is a dark energy used to subdue an enemy, delivered through a nondescript manner. At a glance, it seems there are three feasible ways in which the two moves could be imagined:

  1. The user gathers dark energy and quickly strikes the opponent, imparting the excess of said energy to cripple an opponent as Quash usually does.
  2. The user feigns weakness, and moves quickly to perform a hold or lock when the target approaches. The energy from the attack fuels the potency of the hold.
  3. The user delivers a blow to the unsuspecting target, and while they are reeling either pins, holds, or energizes the target with the energy necessary to perform Quash.

Bearing in mind Sucker Punch's Japanese name being "Ambush," there are also plenty of tropes throughout media which could come into play here. Many modern ambush settings involve gangs of attackers, some of which hold back the victim so that the others may attack directly. Other miscellaneous, albeit weaker, reasons for feasibility include both attacks being the same type, requiring the same energy source, the combination being a simple application of a status move to an attack of the same type, both moves having a similar feel of dirty fighting, and the general legality of combining moves which add energy to moves of the same element.

Tl;dr: Quash is a plausible extension of Sucker Punch because of the vagueness around the execution of both attacks and the similar flavor, properties, and "feel" of the moves.

I would like to reorder if Nidoking's combo is illegal, and doing so wouldn't take long at all.

sorry for double post

I was told that you can only activate Berserk Gene on send out, this doesnt change much, just that Politoed takes 2 extra damage

Frosty does this change your orders in any way?

I apologize for being difficult, but I would like a few more opinions on Sucker Punch + Quash. Setting aside my personal policy of acquiring community consensus for important matches, I didn't think this combination was infeasible compared to some of what I've tried in the past (and I admit that I've tried some outlandish concepts before); depending on how you view Quash, all it aims to accomplish is to either add speed to Quash, akin to Quick Attack or Extreme Speed combinations, or to add energy to Sucker Punch, in a similar vein to Hyper Beam or any of the Elemental Punches used in combinations.

And, yes, I have orders written for when I'm shot down the second time.

while I don't mean to be rude or anything, but can we please get some closure here? I mean, I don't really mind either decision (yes or no), but it would be lovely if a decision is made before the dawn of the fourth day if you catch the reference.

Toon can't you like check with the gym com if you are having doubts?

Ordering assuming that Ludicolo's Sucker Punch substitution triggers only on the action that Sucker Punch is used, and Politoed's triggers regardless of which action Sucker Punch is used on. I would like to make a slight reorder if proven otherwise, but I doubt that that will be necessary.

Nidoking:

Protect - Sucker Punch (Ludicolo)

Steelix:

Endure - Double-Edge (Ludicolo)

I also forgot that Politoed regains 4HP from the previous round due to King's Rock, since it wasn't targeted i decided to ref le round but if fsr it does matter ask for a reorder ig?
