Welcome to the third edition of GSC Grand Slam! We are back for another season of thrilling GSC competition spread across five lower tier single elimination tournaments. This year for the first time with the prize of a CA for the winner.

The format consists of five separate tournaments: The GSC Ubers Open, The GSC UU Open, The GSC NU Open, The GSC PU Open, and the GSC ZU Open. Depending on your performance in each Open, you will be awarded points. The point system is the same as the one used in Smogon Tour, Smogon Classic and previous years of Smogon Grand Slam (see this for further explanation). When all the Opens have been finished, the eight players with the most points will qualify for playoffs. There, the battlers will duke it out in a single elimination best-of-five series until there is one GSC Grand Slam champion.

Signups for each Open will be posted after the first round of the previous Open is posted. Here is the list of the five Opens and the dates each signups will be posted:
If a tier shift happens to occur during a round, it will not be taken into account until the following round. Please also keep in mind that this tournament is entirely GSC and does not include metagames from future generations.

Replays are required for all matches.

Be sure to join the GSC Discord if you have any questions or wish to ask a host about a decision.

The GSC Grand Slam Opens have finished and we have found our eight playoffs participants. Huge thank you to our Open hosts Alice Kazumi, leoperi, JensenDale, OmBrArch and Isa!

Without further ado, here are our participants!

4. THE_CHUNGLER - 19 points, 78.95% winrate

All sets are best of five, defined as first to three wins. The higher seed will pick the first tier to be played (out of Ubers, UU, NU, PU, ZU) and the loser of each match will then pick which tier the next match will be played in. In the event of a tie, the match will be replayed in the same tier.

Replays are mandatory!

Deadline is Sunday, May 18th at 11:59 PM GMT-4

I was made aware that due to the recent PU viability ranking update tiering changes for ZU occured but never were officially announced on forums.

The following tiering changes happened:

Poliwhirl, Bayleef, Wartortle, Voltorb, Geodude rise from ZU to PU
Ponyta, Ariados fall from PU to ZU

The tiering changes were announced before playoffs started. Due to precedent these tiering changes go into effect for plaoyffs. The teambuilder and challenge format have already been updated on PS. Tiers for playoffs are locked so any further tiering changes during playoffs won't apply. Future tiering changes will go into effect the following round.

Tagging all playoffs participants: SANKE CARP zben MrSoup THE_CHUNGLER Real FV13 LustfulLice AhmedxWaleed BeeOrSomething. Please note these tiering changes and prepare your ZU teams accordingly.

Please note Poliwag has been quickbanned from ZU and will not be allowed from this round onwards.

Replays are mandatory! Playing on Smogtours is mandatory! Posting your scheduled time on the GSC Discord is mandatory. With a Custom Avatar on the line people should have the opportunity to spectate the game live.
