Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock

So, anyone play it? I got it at the midnight release, I'd reserved a copy. And DAMN, it's a good game. It's not necessarily as hard as GH2, but it's worth the money. The revamp and all the new stuff make it a worthwhile game. Anyone else have it?

Guitar Hero III is another reason why I'm getting a Wii soon. Have you seen the movie on Youtube where the guy plays Through the Flames by DragonForce? It's apparently the hardest song ever on any Guitar Hero game.

Coming to Australia on the 7th :(
TTFAF honestly doesn't seem harder then Jordan, the new HOPO system is a major advantage and the solo's don't last as long as Jordan's. After getting past the intro though, the song should be cake.

i heard F.C.P.R.E.M.I.X (jesus christ thats hard to type out) by Fall of Troy is going to be on there, and judging by how insane the song is i'll think it's one of the harder ones as well. i'll be getting this for the 360 if the price lowers, i guess.

My girlfriend bought it yesterday for the Wii so I've played it a bit. The way the Wii-mote just sort of fits into the guitar is kinda crazy but yeah it's not much different from the xbox/ps versions. In general, the game seems to be much of the same which is good for me since I liked Guitar Hero 2 a lot.

I've got the game, altough I'm pretty bad compared to other people. I DID get 61% on TTFATF on my first try on hard, but it was in practice and at some parts during the solos and stuff I was just strumming as fast as I could and moving my hands up and down the neck pushing every note the looked like it might be coming soon.

F.C.P.R.E.M.I.X. is on the game. Anyone play wi-fi? I usually do best of 5 under anything. For those that play online, anyone have specific songs they play for Battle and Pro Face-offs? For battles I usually choose Knights of Cydonia and 3's & 7's. And for those god damn metal punks who can't stop playing The Metal, a good whole amount of blues in the form of Pride and Joy brings a near instant win in the Pro Face-off. If all else fails, TTFATF can intimidate a lot into quitting, it's not even funny.

still waiting

lol hai rekt

Anyways, I won a GH2 tournament and the prize was GH3, though I'm still waiting to actually receive it since the tourney manager wanted to make sure he bought the game for the right system.

I look forward to playing...
Heart - Barracuda
The Strokes - Reptilia
AFI - Miss Murder
Weezer - My Name Is Jonas
The Dead Kennedy's - Holiday In Cambodia
Bloc Party - Helicopter
Matchbook Romance - Monsters
Muse - Knights of Cydonia
Fall Of Troy - F.C.P.R.E.M.I.X.

and then maybe the Dragonforce...see how many tries it takes me to pass it

Anyone know if there are any major differences between the Wii and 360 version, besides the player base?

In all honesty TTFATF isn't any harder than Jordan, it's gonna give you carpal tunnel from all of the quick strumming parts but it has more of a pattern, even in the heavier parts. Unlike Jordan which goes batshit insane during the heavy parts and is impossible to 100%. I know someone who's already scored about 89% on TTFATF but after playing Jordan like every day ever since GH2 came out he's only managed a 96 (which is still fucking insane even considering he's azn).

I have the game, and have beaten medium and most of hard. This was my first time playing Guitar Hero, and I made the mistake of not taking the tutorial. I never learned about Hammer-ons or Pull-offs until I heard some friend talking about them at school.

Hyra:
The only differences between the Wii and 360 versions that I know of are the unlockable characters. The Wii gets Metalhead and Elvis/Elroy/something similar, while the 360 gets the God of Rock and the Grim Reaper. Obviously, the 360 also has better graphics and achievements. The Wii's only special features are rumble during star power (not that noticeable) and sounds from missed notes coming from the wiimote's internal speaker (incredibly annoying, luckily it can be turned off).

i am waiting for rock band to come out so i can compare the two before i buy one or the other. i've also heard that the wireless guitar for the 360 is kind of fragile. anyone who has the game care to refute or back this up for me?

I can't beat Lou on hard, the song is easy. He just keeps hitting all his notes no matter what I do. Any suggestions?

I don't know from experience but I've heard that you should save up all your attacks and unleash them at the same time and he should get really messed up. I dunno if it actually works and it came from gfaqs so it should be taken with a grain of salt.

Easy way to do it is wait for a specific point near the end and use double notes and the whammy bar attacks, and it'll rip him apart. An amp overload right after wouldn't hurt to. I honestly don't think Jordan is all that much harder then TTFATF on expert, not even close.
