Gyara My Man

Introduction
Hello Smogon Community! I'm very happy to be back into battling after a break since early DPP this is a team i built around some of my favorite pokemon and this makes it enjoyable. This team ive been toying around with for a day or so with good results so please help me out :D

The Team

Mamoswine @ Focus Sash
Trait: Thick Fat
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd / 4 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Ice Shard
- Stealth Rock
- Endeavor

Mamoswine is maybe one of the best leads in the current meta. Dual Ground/Ice STABs Provided great coverage and makes setting up on him hard. Stealth Rocks is a good start to any game to make switches cost more. Ice Shard for revenge killing anything Dragon. Endeavor for picking off scizor and other boosters. Overall just a great mon to have on your team with more strengths than weaknesses.

Rotom-Wash @ Choice Specs
Trait: Levitate
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 HP
Modest Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Volt Switch
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Trick

Rotom-W is a pivot on my team to form the infamous VoltTurn combo with scizor creating alot of pressure on the enemy team. Choice Specs makes Hydro Pump hit very hard 2HKOing alot of the meta. Volt Switch dents things while switching into his partner in crime scizor. HP Fire for dealing with Ferro/Opposing Scizor and especially celebi. Trick as my final move cripples set-up sweepers and walls. He also enjoys switching into Earthquakes for Tyranitar aswell as making Politoed and Ninetales lose the weather war.(Hidden Power is subject to change as i haven't done extensive testing with this team)

Claydol @ Light Clay
Trait: Levitate
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Spd / 252 SDef
Impish Nature
- Rapid Spin
- Reflect
- Light Screen
- Earthquake

Claydol is a very underused and appreciated pokemon in OU. Has great defensive typing and a decent base attack stat to make frail pokemon cry. Double Screens to make the already bulky team bulkier. Rapid Spin mainly so my Gyarados is unscratched when he comes in to close out the game. Levitate helps me switch in on earthquakes. Also did i mention he walls Terrakion pretty good. Earthquake is my stab of choice hitting things relatively hard where it counts
248.gif

Tyranitar @ Choice Band
Trait: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Pursuit
- Superpower
- Stone Edge
- Earthquake

Choice band Tyranitar hits like an animal and traps important things such as Lati@s. Pursuit with choice band hits key targets and with stealth rock damage gets gyarados easy damage for his moxie boosts.Superpower for other tyranitars and ferro. edge for STAB. Earthquake is most likely replaceable as i rarely use it. Tyranitars fighting weakness is instantly patched up by Claydol who sets up screens for gyarados.

212.gif

Scizor @ Choice Band
Trait: Swarm
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Bullet Punch
- Pursuit
- Superpower
- U-turn

Standard as all hell but an animal. Scizor can revenge kill most of my teams threats such as terrakion. He also forms an amazing pivot with Rotom. Pursuit again traps important targets making that gyarados sweep that much easier. Superpower hits that magnezone on the switch and turns his pull negative. I don't exactly think hes replaceable as he has amazing synergy with all aspects of the team.

Gyarados @ Lum Berry
Trait: Moxie
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd / 4 HP
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Ice Fang
- Waterfall
- Bounce

Best Sweeper OU... Literally Moxie Dragon Dance Gyarados is an ANIMAL. Come in on a scarfer/band locked into ground or a resisted type set up after threats have been disposed of and Moxie will do its work. Ice Fang for Dragons. Waterfall is the primary move that will be used and hits most things hard. Bounce is the secondary STAB for things that waterfall can't hit. Lum Berry is so my sweep isn't messed up with a burn or twave. Pretty much cleans house.

Anyway let me know what you think of my team and any improvements that can be made.

Well, first of all, Scizor's ability should be changed from Swarm to Technician, to boost Pursuit and Bullet Punch, after all, it's what makes Scizor on the top of the usage rankings.

For Ttar, with even full investment, you can't really outspeed anything much. So I recommend a set of

Tyranitar @ Choice Band
Trait: Sand Stream
EVs: 180 HP / 252 Atk / 76 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Stone Edge
- Crunch
- Pursuit
- Superpower

That set can outspeed uninvested base 70s.

Other than that, I feel like your team is very fragile. Scarf Keldeo can easily take out most of your team, since your Rotom isn't a bulky set, it can be easily 2HKOed. If that thing is weakened, you're done. Your main check is Gyarados, but since Bounce is easily exploitable, you really can't get at it. So I would like to recommend a slightly bulky yet still offensive Rotom-W set.

Rotom-Wash @ Chesto Berry
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 176 SAtk / 80 SDef
Modest Nature
- Rest
- Volt Switch
- Will-O-Wisp
- Hydro Pump

That's all I can think of right now off the top of my head. See ya. :D

That scizor mistakes was unintentional most likely why i have been failing to KO things that i should be. Also i like the changes to rotom

Hello, interesting team. First off, if you want to build a team that focuses on a successful Gyarados sweep, the first thing you'd want to be able to beat is an opposing Rotom-W, but your team is really weak to it. Claydol, Gyarados and Mamoswine absolutely can't touch it, then it goes to work and burns Scizor, etc, so yeah, it's a pretty big problem right now for your Gyarados sweep. I don't really think you need Rotom-W, it doesn't really do much with Choice Specs (except maybe help you vs Jellicent? but Tyranitar / Scizor can trap them anyways), so I'd change it to a Life Orb Latias, who does a similar role in helping you against Rain, but it lets you deal with opposing Rotom-W, and provides a nice Fighting resist. It also helps against Sun. For other changes, I'd go with Substitute over Ice Fang on Gyarados, since Dragons like Latios / Latias are taken care of by Tyranitar and you've also got Mamoswine to deal with Dragons. Substitute lets you set up against Jellicent, who would burn you with Will-O-Wisp anyways, and if Gyarados is burned, it's pretty much crippled for the entire match and can't effectively sweep. I'd also go for Leftovers instead of Lum Berry, since with Substitute you don't have to worry about getting Toxic'd or burned by slow opponents, and with Sand damage, Gyarados will eventually go down, but Leftovers cancels out that damage, letting you sweep longer. I'd also recommend an EV Spread of 180 HP / 252 Atk / 76 Spe on Tyranitar, so you can live two Surf from Life Orb Latios if I recall, and max speed doesn't outspeed anything significant for Tyranitar and you're more bulky, and with 76 Speed EVs you're fast enough to outspeed Jellicent before it burns you. Good luck.
